Jonas Hiller made 30 saves as the Flames fell 3-2 in overtime to the Canucks on Saturday night.
This effort should be plenty good enough to get Hiller the majority of the starts in the near future. Even though he hasn’t won since Nov. 18, Hiller has given up two goals in each of his last three starts. He has a 2.38 goals-against average and .915 save percentage. Dec 21 - 1:18 AM

Jonas Hiller will get the nod in Vancouver on Saturday night.

Hiller was good Friday night against Dallas, stopping 19-21 shots. However the struggling Flames offense could only get one puck past Kari Lehtonen for their seventh straight loss. Hiller for his part has now lost six straight starts, though he owns a 2.40 GAA and .914 save percentage on the season.
Dec 20 - 7:16 PM

Jonas Hiller was only able to stop 19-21 shots Friday night in Calgary's seventh straight loss, 2-1 to Dallas.

Hiller failed to cover up Jamie Benn's shot off a late second period faceoff, and then failed to get over to his left in time to stop Trevor Daley's shot almost eight minutes later. Just like that, Calgary was down 2-0 and wouldn't come back. Hiller has now lost each of his last six starts, and he owns a 2.40 GAA with a .914 save percentage.
Dec 20 - 12:17 AM

Jonas Hiller is expected to start on Friday.

Karri Ramo missed Thursday's practice due to an illness, but Hiller was scheduled to start even before Ramo got sick. Hiller has a 2.42 GAA and .914 save percentage in 20 games this season.

Dec 19 - 10:03 AM

Jonas Hiller stopped all nine shots he faced in relief of Karri Ramo on Tuesday night.

Hiller will surely get the next start as the Flames are in a six game tailspin. Ramo was unimpressive in getting the start in this one, allowing four goals on 13 shots. But it should be noted that Hiller hasn't earned a win since Nov.18. Next up will Dallas on Friday.
Dec 17 - 12:41 AM

Jonas Hiller made 26 saves on 28 shots in Sunday's 2-1 loss to Chicago.

The 32-year-old has now lost five straight games. His grip on the starting job isn't as tight as it once was. Hiller has seen a decrease in playing time during his struggles. His record now falls 9-9-1 with a 2.48 goals-against-average and a .913 save percentage. The Flames have lost five consecutive games.
Dec 14 - 11:04 PM

Jonas Hiller will start Sunday's game against Chicago.

Hiller has lost four consecutive starts and is 2-5-0 with a 3.17 goals-against-average and a .878 save percentage in his last seven starts.
Dec 14 - 1:33 PM

Jonas Hiller made 19 saves on 22 shots in Friday's 3-1 loss to Pittsburgh.

Hiller has now lost four straight starts dating back November 20th. The 32-year-old has started two of Calgary's last eight games. Hiller is now 9-8-1 this season with a 2.50 goals-against-average and a .912 save percentage. After winning four games in a row, the Flames have now dropped four straight.
Dec 12 - 10:00 PM

Jonas Hiller will be between the pipes Friday night against Pittsburgh.

After winning four straight, the Flames are in the midst of their second multi-game losing streak of the season at three games. Compounding things is the fact that San Jose and Los Angeles are hot on Calgary's trail for the third playoff slot in the Pacific. A win tonight can ease tensions, for now.
Dec 12 - 5:36 PM

Jonas Hiller lost his third straight game Tuesday night after blocking 25 of 27 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Maple Leafs.

The Flames have been surprisingly good thus far, but most of the hockey world seems prepared for a precipitous fall from grace. Hiller's recent slump has dropped his record to 9-7-1 while his GAA is now 2.47 and his save percentage is .914.
Dec 9 - 11:56 PM

Jonas Hiller will get the start against Toronto on Tuesday night.

In four career starts against Toronto, all during his time in Anaheim, Hiller has lost each game and allowed at least four goals. That being said, Calgary currently sits fifth best in the NHL with a +17 goal differential, on seven better than Toronto.
Dec 9 - 5:48 PM

Jonas Hiller stopped 26-of-29 shots but the Flames fell 3-2 in his return to Anaheim on Tuesday.

The Ducks jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to some tough puck luck for Hiller in front of his own net. Still, Hiller kept his team in it for a rally that ultimately came up just short. Hiller has now lost two starts in a row but this could have been expected with match-ups in the Ducks and Blackhawks. He carries a 9-6-1 record to go with a solid 2.49 goals against average and .913 save percentage through 16 appearances.
Nov 26 - 2:12 AM

Jonas Hiller is hoping to hand the Calgary Flames their first win at Anaheim's Honda Center in nearly 11 years.

Of course, Hiller is part of the reason the Flames have had so little success in Anaheim as he was serving as the Ducks' goaltender for a significant portion of it. Now he's switched sides and is being given an opportunity to reverse the Flames' fortunes. "I think that's even more motivating — to finally change that," Hiller said. "I don't know how many games it's been or how many years or whatever, but definitely we knew in Anaheim that we had a good record against the Flames there."

Nov 25 - 10:03 AM

Jonas Hiller will get the start Tuesday for the Calgary Flames.

Karri Ramo is getting the start on Saturday and Wednesday with Hiller in between. Hiller has been the busier goalie of the two with a 9-5-1 record to go with a 2.45 GAA and a .914 save percentage. Adjust your lineups accordingly.
Nov 22 - 7:36 AM

Jonas Hiller allowed four goals on 22 shots in Calgary's 4-3 loss to Chicago.

The game was tied at three in the third period, but Hawks' forward Patrick Kane put Chicago ahead for good when he beat Hiller. The Flames' goaltender has now lost back-to-back starts for the first time since his two opening starts of the season. Hiller is 9-5-1 with a 2.45 goals-against-average and a.914 save percentage. Even with this loss, he's given Calgary steady goaltending for the first time in a long time.
