Jonas Hiller set away 17 shots in the Flames’ 4-2 win against the Oilers on Saturday night.
It looked like it was going to be a long night for the Swiss netminder as he gave up two goals 11:41 into the game. Hiller wasn’t really tested much after the first — facing just 10 shots, but he didn’t let the game slip out of hand. Hiller has given up one goal in each of his past four games. He has a 2.36 goals-against average and .914 save percentage this season. Feb 1 - 12:56 AM

Jonas Hiller will start again on Saturday for the Calgary Flames.

The Flames take on the Edmonton Oilers and Hiller is 15-4-1 in his career against the Flames neighbors to the North although most wins were when Hiller was with Anaheim. "Hills is giving us a chance to win," said coach Bob Hartley. "(Thursday’s 1-0 loss to Minnesota), I thought that was the best goaltending battle we’ve seen all year. The two goalies were really sharp. They had perfect rebound control. (Devan) Dubnyk played a hell of a game. We couldn’t get one by him." Start him if you normally would.
Jan 31 - 7:19 AM

Jonas Hiller made 31 saves in Calgary's 1-0 loss to Minnesota on Thursday night.

Thomas Vanek deflected Mark Giordano's intended outlet pass right to Zach Parise, who after getting Hiller out of position, beat Hiller five-hole for the game's only tally. Needless to say, outside of being forced to cover-up an egregious error, Hiller was stellar. He's now 14-14-0 with two shutouts and 71 goals against through 32 games.
Jan 30 - 12:11 AM

Jonas Hiller will get the start against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday.

The 32-year-old got off to a fast start this season, but he has cooled off a little bit. Hiller has just one win in his last four decisions. He has a 14-13-2 record with a 2.42 goals-against-average and a .912 save percentage in 31 games this season.
Jan 29 - 6:21 PM

Jonas Hiller stopped 17-of-18 shots in Calgary's 4-1 win over Buffalo on Tuesday.

Hiller wasn't overly busy in this game but the only shot to beat him was a perfectly placed re-direct in front of his crease. This was his first start since January 9 and it looks like he now has the run of the starts as Joni Ortio was sent back to the minors for the time being. Hiller is 14-13 with a 2.42 GAA and .912 save percentage on the campaign.
Jan 28 - 12:04 AM

Look for Jonas Hiller to get the start in goal for Calgary on Saturday.

Normally the Flames would go to Karri Ramo on back-to-back nights but Ramo is hurt and it's likely that the Flames would rather go with Hiller than backup Joni Ortio. Hiller is 13-13-2 with a 2.48 GAA and a .911 save percentage. The Flames play Vancouver on Saturday.
Jan 10 - 8:14 AM

Jonas Hiller was only able to stop 29-35 shots the Florida Panthers sent his way Friday night's 6-5 loss.

All six of the goals came at even strength, too. It was a wild affair where it seemed goals were being scored from every angle, and in the end, Hiller was the one who couldn't make the final save.
Jan 10 - 12:36 AM

Jonas Hiller will get the start against Florida Panthers on Friday night.

It's tough to recommend Hiller for your team as he's allowed 62 goals through 28 games so far this season. However he's won all four career starts over the Cats, including two shutouts and just five goals against.
Jan 9 - 5:55 PM

Jonas Hiller entered a 1-1 game in the second period and proceeded to allow two goals on nine shots to take the loss to Detroit on Wednesday.

It was a tough spot for Hiller who had to enter the game cold thanks to an injury to Karri Ramo who had originally started the game. Hiller was already the Flames' number one starter coming into this game but this will put more pressure on him as he is the man going forward. Hiller is 13-12-2 with a 2.34 GAA and .915 save percentage on the year.
Jan 8 - 1:01 AM

Calgary goalie Jonas Hiller kicked aside 22 shots in the Flames' 2-1 loss to the visiting New York Islanders Friday night.

Hiller's goals-against average improved to 2.30 and his save percentage improved to .917. His record is 13-11-2. Considering that Hiller is not on a great team, he has surprisingly decent fantasy value.
Jan 2 - 11:59 PM

Jonas Hiller will start against the Islanders on Friday night.

The Flames are riding a four-game winning streak and are among the a pack of six teams in the West who have between 47-45 points in the standings. Calgary currently sits outside of the playoffs, but even a single point can go a long way towards getting back into the big dance since 2009.
Jan 2 - 8:32 PM

Jonas Hiller stopped just 17-of-20 shots but it was enough to pick up his fourth straight win as the Flames outlasted Edmonton 4-3 on Wednesday night.

Hiller wasn't amazing but picked up his fourth straight winning start for the Flames. Hiller has been instrumental in the team digging themselves out of an eight game losing streak. He will continue to get the run of the starts as long as he's winning and Karri Ramo owners will be disappointed in the process.
Jan 1 - 1:17 AM

Jonas Hiller stopped 27-of-28 shots faced in Calgary's 2-1 win over LA on Monday.

The win was Hiller's third straight win for the club as he was solid again for the Flames who have recovered from an eight game losing streak. The Flames had been exercising a two goalie plan earlier in the year but are now obviously going with the hot hand. It's bad news for Karri Ramo fantasy owners but for those who invested in Hiller are being rewarded.
Tue, Dec 30, 2014 01:15:00 AM

Jonas Hiller will start for the Flames Monday night against the Kings.

Hiller will have his hands full Monday night against the Los Angeles Kings where he will go for his 12th win of the 2014-2015 season. He has a respectable 2.34 goals-against-average and .917 save percentage this year and has already beaten the Kings this season when he stopped 31 of 34 shots back on December 22nd.
Mon, Dec 29, 2014 07:46:00 PM

Jonas Hiller made 26 saves in the Flames’ 4-1 win over the Oilers on Saturday night.

The lone blemish against Hiller came in the third period. Hiller has won two straight games and has become the most reliable guy in net for Calgary. He has a 2.34 goals-against average and .917 save percentage this season.
