Tyler Kennedy is hoping to latch on with another team, but he's worried about his chances of finding a new home.
"I hope I get something, but I don’t know if I will," Kennedy said. "That’s the hardest thing. If you’re doing all this work and you don’t know if you’re going to play … you can’t really beg someone to sign you." The 30-year-old spent last season with the New Jersey Devils and scored three goals and 16 points in 50 games. He may have to accept a PTO. Aug 16 - 8:41 AM

Tyler Kennedy (lower body) did not make the trip with the Devils to Pittsburgh.

Kennedy suffered the injury on Sunday in a game against the Blue Jackets. In 46 games this season, the forward has just 14 points including three goals for the Devils. Replacing Kennedy in the lineup tonight will be Blake Pietila, who was just recently called up on an emergency basis, and will be making his NHL debut tonight.

Tyler Kennedy left Sunday's match with Columbus due to a lower body injury.

It's believed to be a leg injury suffered while blocking a shot, but nothing is official just yet. Kennedy played 7:50 and fired two shots on net before departing.
Mar 20 - 7:04 PM

Tyler Kennedy, Stefan Matteau, and Marc-Andre Gragnani will each be scratched against Pittsburgh on Tuesday night.

Combined, these three have seen just 47 games of action this season. Though Gragnani has just four of those. Simply put, there's no fantasy value to speak of.

Tyler Kennedy and Stefan Matteau will be scratched against Winnipeg on Saturday night.

Unfortunately, there isn't a lick of potential fantasy value between either player as neither forward has a penchant for racking up the counter numbers with any regularity.
Jan 23 - 6:47 PM

Tyler Kennedy will be a healthy scratch in Thursday's game against the Ottawa Senators.

The 29-year-old has no goals and four assists in 23 games this season. Stefan Matteau will join him in the press box. Matteau has one goal and no assists in 20 games this season.
Jan 21 - 7:07 PM

Tyler Kennedy will return to the Devils' lineup Sunday against the Wild.

Kennedy has been a nice comeback story this season, but he doesn't pose much fantasy value unfortunately. He has but three points and 14 hits through 18 games.
Jan 10 - 4:19 PM

Tyler Kennedy was hurt during Wednesday's pregame warmups.

Kennedy's injury has been identified as being of the upper-body variety, but the severity of it hasn't been disclosed. Devils coach John Hynes clarified that Kennedy wasn't questionable going into the warmups, so whatever happened, it occurred during that period.
Jan 7 - 11:19 AM

Tyler Kennedy will make his season and Devils debut Friday night against Montreal while skating on the fourth line.

Kennedy will skate to the right of Bobby Farnham and Stephen Gionta. Unfortunately only Farnham has even a modicum of fantasy value, and you'd have to be in a league and desperate for hits and PIMs to take his services into account.

The New Jersey Devils have released Tyler Kennedy from his professional tryout.

Kennedy had missed the last couple of days due to personal reasons but that likely had little if anything to do with his release. He will likely try to catch on with a minor league team or head to Europe to play.
