It was Carle's first point in 10 contests. Unlike many former NHLers currently playing in the KHL, Carle signed before the lockout and is expected to remain with Dynamo Riga even if the NHL and union agree on a new CBA.

Mathieu Carle has reportedly inked a contract to play in the KHL next season with Dynamo Riga.

He skated in 72 games with Anaheim's AHL affiliate in Syracuse this past season, while posting six goals, 31 assists and a plus-7 rating. Carle has appeared in just three NHL contests in his career and they all came in 2009-10 when he was a member of the Montreal Canadiens organization.

Carle had to be helped off the ice after he collided into the end boards during a workout on Sunday. He had 11 goals and 29 points in 68 games with the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs last season.

"He was little bit woozy there so we made sure and took him in," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. "He’s seems to be somewhat back to normal." Carle had 11 goals and 29 points in 68 AHL games last season. He's projected to begin the 2011-12 season in the minors.

Anaheim acquired Carle from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Mark Mitera. He'll earn $726,000 if he spends the season in the NHL and $62,500 at the AHL level. Carle is projected to start the 2011-12 season in the minors.

Mathieu Carle has signed a one-year/two-way contract with the Montreal Canadiens.

Carle will receive $660,000 when he is in the NHL and $62,500 in the AHL. He played three games for the Habs this past season but only played 31 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL, scoring five times and adding 10 assists. He missed 44 games because of injuries. He'll have little to no fantasy value if he sticks in the NHL in 2010-11.

He will start the game with Marc-Andre Bergeron, but coach Jacques Martin said the pairings could be changed during the game. Carle was called up on Tuesday to replace Hal Gill, who is out with a leg injury, in the lineup.
