Mason Raymond is expected to be back in the Vancouver Canucks' lineup Saturday night.

Whether the veteran left winger is still in Vancouver next season is an entirely different matter. The Canucks face a serious salary cap crunch next season and right now it's looking like Raymond may be one of the casualties. He will be an unrestricted free agent this summer and the team has made no overtures to Raymond and agent J.P. Barry about an extension. Raymond said that after weathering some nerves leading up to Wednesday's NHL trade deadline, he's trying not to think about next season. "Who knows, right?" he said. "You can't think about it. If you are looking too far ahead, you are going to steer yourself off track."
Apr 6 - 12:52 PM

Mason Raymond is dealing with a sore shoulder.

Raymond has been ruled out for Monday's game. He has nine goals and 18 points in 35 games this season.
Apr 1 - 3:37 PM

Mason Raymond scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.

Vancouver and Los Angeles combined for just 33 shots on goal. Jordan Schroeder and Jannik Hansen each registered an assist on Raymond's goal.
Mar 23 - 6:59 PM

The experiment of Mason Raymond at center has been successful so far.

With Ryan Kesler suffering a broken foot Raymond was called upon to center the Canucks second line Saturday and he stepped up with a goal, an assist and a plus-3 rating lining up against Mike Richards and the Kings second line. The injury to Kesler certainly creates an opportunity for the talented Raymond and so far he appears to be taking full advantage.
Mar 3 - 8:24 AM

With Ryan Kesler out (foot), the Canucks have undergone a significant lineup change.

Mason Raymond, a natural winger, will center the teams’ second line between Jannik Hansen and Chris Higgins. "I have played it from time to time, but not a ton," Raymond said. "I’ve spent the majority of my career on the wing. I talked with Manny and a few guys about (face-offs). But when you have your wingers coming in and helping out, it’s key." It should make things interesting against the L.A. Kings tonight, especially if Raymond is on the ice much against their star centre Anze Kopitar.
Mar 2 - 11:04 AM

Mason Raymond generated a power-play goal and an assist on Thursday in Vancouver's 4-1 win versus Minnesota.

Raymond has six points in 10 games this campaign. Daniel Sedin, Chris Higgins and Jannik Hansen also tallied goals for the Canucks in the contest.
Feb 8 - 1:00 AM

Mason Raymond is taking advantage of increased ice time in Vancouver as a result of the many injuries the team has endured.

The absences of David Booth and Ryan Kesler have opened up more quality ice time for Raymond, who has recorded three goals in the season's first four games. The speedy forward tallied 25 times and recorded 53 points in his career-best 2009-10 season, but injuries derailed his progression. For the first time in what seems like an eternity, Raymond now seems to be regaining his old form.
Jan 27 - 8:38 AM

Mason Raymond feels he has something to prove this season, and with Vancouver's second line in shambles, he should get an opportunity on a scoring line to begin the year.

"I've got a chip on my shoulder but I want to show it on the ice," Raymond said Tuesday. "Do you want a pay cut? Nobody wants a pay cut. I feel like I've got things to prove and the best way to do that is go on the ice and score some goals." He has scored 25 goals over the past two years after netting 25 during his breakout campaign in 2009-10. Vancouver took him to arbitration in the off-season to get his salary dropped from $2.6 million to $2.275 million. The Canucks won't have Ryan Kesler or David Booth because of injuries when they open the season on Saturday, so Raymond will have to get his way into the top-six forward group over his rotating linemates. He skated with Andrew Ebbett, Jordan Schroeder and Zack Kassian on Tuesday.
Jan 16 - 5:16 PM

Mason Raymond played only one game for Orebro HK of the Swedish Allsvenskan League.

Raymond was one of four Vancouver Canucks to play in Europe, albeit only one game as he joined Jannik Hansen, Dale Wiese and Cory Schneider overseas. It should be interesting to see how the Canucks come out of the shoot as the regular season starts with the vast majority of its players not playing since the 2012 playoffs. Raymond was plus-one in the game he played with nary a point.
Jan 7 - 1:16 PM

Mason Raymond will make his debut with Orebro HK on Jan. 3.

According to his agent, J.P. Barry, Raymond's deal with the second division Swedish club runs through the month of January, with an option to renew. However, the Vancouver forward is hopeful that there will still be an NHL season to return to and he said he will use his time overseas to stay in shape to be ready for when that time comes.

Mason Raymond has signed with Orebro of the HockeyAllsvenskan.

The HockeyAllsvenskan is the second-tier of Swedish hockey. Before the lockout began, Raymond signed a one-year/$2.75 million contract extension with the Vancouver Canucks.

Mason Raymond signed a one-year/$2.275 million contract extension with the Vancouver Canucks.

After recording 53 points in 2009-10, Raymond has fallen down to just 20 points in 55 contests last season. He'll need to bounce back in 2012-13 if he wants to get a big contract in the summer of 2013.

The Vancouver Canucks have filed for arbitration with Mason Raymond in the hopes of getting him for less money than they paid in 2011-12.

Raymond made $2.6 million last season and recorded just 20 points in 52 games. The arbitrator could reduce his salary by up to 15% to $2.21 million for the 2012-13 campaign. If the Canucks had not filed for arbitration, Raymond would have been eligible to become a restricted free agent this summer.

Mason Raymond’s goal production is not matching his considerable skill.

Granted Raymond suffered a broken back during last spring’s Cup final that cut into his 2011-12 campaign. The result was only 10 goals in 55 games. However, Raymond had all of 15 goals in 2010-11 (70 games) making some wonder if his 25-goal effort in 2009-10, his second full season in the NHL, was an aberration.
