Torey Mitchell left Saturday night's 4-2 win over the Bruins in the third period with an upper-body injury.
He took a high stick from David Krejci and was cut above the eye and needed stitches to close the cut. Consider Mitchell day-to-day for now, although we suspect he will be OK for the Habs' next contest. Oct 23 - 9:57 AM

Torrey Mitchell knows how difficult it is to play against new teammate Shea Weber.

The Canadiens acquired Weber from Nashville for P.K. Subban. Most hockey fans feel like the Predators got the better of this deal, but it's safe to say that Mitchell's excited to have Weber on his side now. "He’s a monster," said Mitchell. "I can’t tell you how many times guys came back to the bench and said: ‘This guy’s a beast. Weber got a hold of me.’ He’s just got that presence to him. I’m just happy he’s on my side now. I think it’s no secret his leadership and toughness is going to be a huge thing. I obviously don’t know him well, but just from playing against him you can tell he’s got that presence and leadership and toughness on the ice, and that’s something that we need … everyone needs."

Torrey Mitchell found the back of the net in Montreal's 4-3 loss to Florida on Saturday night.

Mitchell's goal gave the Canadiens a 3-0 lead in the second period, but the Panthers responded with four straight goals in regulation to steal the win. He's now scored a goal in back-to-back. "We were up 3-0 and feeling good about ourselves and we gave up three avoidable goals," Mitchell said. "We jumped out to a quick lead and then fell back on our heels."

Torrey Mitchell (lower body) will probably return Tuesday night.

He centered the fourth line during Monday's practice between Daniel Carr and Sven Andrighetto. That left Charles Hudon as the odd-man out. Coach Michel Therrien is hoping to have Mitchell back and it looks like that will happen.
