Mitchell is also expected to miss at least another week or so, so it would appear he's nearly on schedule if not dead on. The near 31-year-old has 10 points and 22 PIMs in 20 games so far this season. Nov 28 - 8:02 PM

Nov 24 - 11:38 AM

Torrey Mitchell is day-to-day with a lower body injury he suffered in Thursday's match with Arizona.

Mitchell played just 8:56 in Thursday's contest and did not factor into the score sheet. Through 20 games this season, he has five goals and 10 points and he has supplied the supplementary scoring Montreal was looking for out of him.

Nov 17 - 2:31 PM

Torrey Mitchell picked up his fifth goal of the season of a brilliant individual effort on Thursday night, unfortunately Montreal would fall to Edmonton 4-3.

After Montreal and Edmonton played a bit of knock-hockey by the Oilers' bench, Mitchell came away with the puck and darted in toward Cam Talbot. A wrister through a screen later, and Mitchell now has points in four of his last six games.
Oct 30 - 12:16 AM

Torrey Mitchell scored the lone goal for Montreal in a 5-1 loss to Vancouver on Tuesday.

Mitchell deflected a point shot from Alexei Emelin for this fourth goal of the year. He has three goals in his last four games and is having a nice a little run to start the season. With four goals in ten games, he is well on his way to surpass his career high 14 goals he had with the Sharks back in the 2011-12 season. We still don't think he is a worth a pick up in standard fantasy formats.
Oct 28 - 1:38 AM

Torrey Mitchell scored his first goal of the season Sunday in a 3-1 win over Ottawa.

He got his stick on a shot by P.K. Subban early in the third period. Andrei Markov also picked up an assist on the goal. Mitchell has 16 penalty minutes in his first three games, but that's not something you should come to expect from him. He reached 50 PIMs in his rookie year, but he hasn't spent much time in the sin bin during his career since then.
Oct 12 - 10:38 AM

Torrey Mitchell's time in Montreal will be extended as the forward has re-signed for three years and $3.6M.

The Quebec native Mitchell registered just a single point in 12 games for Montreal after coming over in a trade with Buffalo during the regular season, but he quintupled his output with a goal and four assists over their 12 game playoff run. With 20 players now committed to their 2015-16 books, the Canadiens have $2.525M in cap space. Mitchell can't be recommended for your fantasy squad, but Canadiens fans can still be happy to have a reliable veteran defensive forward to help round out their bottom-six.
Jun 15 - 8:24 PM

Torrey Mitchell co-leads the Montreal Canadiens in scoring during the playoffs.

He picked up two assists in Game 3 to give him three points in the team's opening round series versus Ottawa. Mitchell is also tied for the club lead with a plus-4 rating. The Canadiens have received plenty of scoring depth this far with just three players on their roster, who have played in all three playoff matches and failed to earn a point. Defensemen Jeff Petry and Tom Gilbert as well as rookie Jacob De La Rose have been held off the scoresheet.
