Torrey Mitchell notched two goals, including the game winner for the Sabres on Thursday night in a 6-3 victory over the Canucks.
Mitchell now has five goals and seven assists through 50 games this season. The 30-year-old veteran has four points in his past five games, but it's unlikely he can maintain fantasy-valuable numbers for long. Feb 26 - 9:55 PM

Torrey Mitchell had an assist and three shots in a 3-2 shootout win over Philadelphia on Thursday night.

The helper snapped a six-game scoreless slump and it marked the 100th point of his NHL career. Mitchell has produced just nine points in 46 appearances this year.

Torrey Mitchell knows he could be traded before the deadline on March 2.

"I'd be lying if I said it hasn't crossed my mind whether I'll be here after the trade deadline or not," Mitchell said. "It doesn't eat away at me that's for sure. I've been through it before. ... Whatever happens, happens. Obviously I'd like to be a Buffalo Sabre. I enjoy my teammates and I enjoy Buffalo." He's an energy player who can kill penalties and he can become an unrestricted free agent in the summer.
Feb 19 - 10:26 AM

Buffalo coach Ted Nolan scrambled all of his forward lines in Friday's practice.

Well why wouldn't he? The Sabres can't score and they haven't won in nine games. Torrey Mitchell will get the chance to play with arguably the team's top two offensive talents--Tyler Ennis and Matt Moulson. Other line combinations were as follows: Chris Stewart-Zemgus Girgensons-Brian Flynn, Cody Hodgson-Phil Varone-Drew Stafford and Nicolas Deslauriers-Matt Ellis-Patrick Kaleta. Until the Sabres show any competency at all, we would bench all of the above.
Jan 17 - 9:35 AM

Torrey Mitchell (lower body) has been officially activated off of the injured reserve list.

Mitchell has three goals and six points in 31 contests in 2014-15. He will help fill the void left by Cody McCormick, who is sidelined because of a blood clot.
Jan 13 - 5:32 PM

Torrey Mitchell has been cleared to return from a lower-body injury.

He is expected to play against Detroit on Tuesday night. The Sabres have posted a 1-10-1 record during Mitchell's absence.
Jan 13 - 9:22 AM

Torrey Mitchell (lower body) practiced Sunday and he's expected to be back in the lineup on Tuesday.

He has been out of action since Dec. 15 when he blocked a shot by Ottawa's Erik Karlsson. Mitchell has six points in 31 games this campaign and for now he's still listed on Buffalo's injured reserve list.
Jan 12 - 8:55 AM

Torrey Mitchell is nearing a return to action.

Mitchell, who has been out of the Buffalo lineup for three weeks with a lower-body injury, could be activated in time to play Tuesday when the Sabres face off against the Red Wings. The demotions of Mikhail Grigorenko and Phil Varone seem to support a Mitchell return.
Jan 10 - 9:45 AM

The Buffalo Sabres have placed Torrey Mitchell on injured reserve.

Mitchell has missed two consecutive games with a lower body injury. He's considered week-to-week at this point. The 29-year-old has six points in 31 games this season.

Torrey Mitchell (lower body) is listed as week-to-week.

He probably will not play before the Christmas break, so that's three games he'll miss at least. Mitchell blocked a shot against Ottawa on Monday that forced him out of the game.

Torrey Mitchell suffered a lower-body injury in Monday's shootout win over Ottawa.

He was hurt when he blocked a shot by Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson in the first period. Mitchell wasn't able to return and he's listed as day-to-day.

Torrey Mitchell has recorded two goals in his past four games.

He scored the game-winning goal for Buffalo last Saturday versus Washington. "It's nice to have some success right now and finding my role," Mitchell said Monday. "Confidence is everything in this league. That's no secret. You get some wins under your belt and you start feeling good about yourself. It makes a big difference just showing up to the rink on a practice day." He's averaging 14:29 of ice time per contest, which is the highest of his career. Mitchell has three goals and four points in 21 matches, but it still could be a career year for him from a goal point-of-view if his current pace continues. While that's great for him, Mitchell isn't worthy of having a spot on your fantasy roster.

Torrey Mitchell is skating on Buffalo's first line against Edmonton on Friday.

Mitchell is playing on a line with Tyler Ennis and Chris Stewart. Mitchell doesn't bring much offense to the table, but he may get a slight boost if he continues to play on that line. You can continue to ignore him in standard leagues.

Torrey Mitchell saw a great deal of ice time with Buffalo as a penalty killer.

In nine games with the Sabres, nearly 19 percent of his ice time was spent shorthanded and the team was good over that span with a 26-for-29 success rate. Despite the small sample size, Mitchell ended up first on the team with 2:57 of penalty kill time per game. He scored his first point with Buffalo in the team's regular season finale after he was promoted to a line with Cody Hodgson and Zemgus Girgensons.

Torrey Mitchell is among the Buffalo Sabres players returning to action against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday.

Mitchell isn't particularly fantasy relevant, so JFYI.
