While some might expect Jussi Jokinen to replace Joe Vitale in the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup in Game 3, but it sounds like Tanner Glass will get it instead.

Jokinen certainly has more of a scoring touch, but maybe the Penguins feel like they already have far more firepower than the Ottawa Senators. We'll see how it goes on Sunday.
May 19 - 1:42 PM

Tanner Glass recorded his first career playoff goal Wednesday night.

He has had a team-high five hits during his 12:41 of ice time in Pittsburgh's Game 1 victory over the New York Islanders. Glass' marker was the fifth goal in a 5-0 win. Heading into Wednesday's contest, Glass had skated in 24 postseason contests as a member of the Vancouver Canucks.
May 2 - 11:37 AM

Tanner Glass leads the Pittsburgh Penguins with 61 hits.

He also has 34 penalty minutes but is unsatisfied with his complete lack of offense and minus-8 rating. "It's frustrating to see zeroes across the board and be a minus player," he said. "So far, I'm bringing some things to the team that I was brought here to do, but it is frustrating to see numbers like that." Glass posted career-highs of five goals and 16 points in 78 games with Winnipeg last season, so when he finally does start to produce it won't by anything substantial.
Mar 7 - 8:19 AM

Tanner Glass will make his return to Winnipeg on Friday night with his new team, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

He put up 16 points and 73 penalty minutes in 78 games with the Jets last season. Glass inked a two-year deal worth $1.1 million per year last summer to play with the Penguins. He said he thoroughly enjoyed his time in Winnipeg and would return again in the future.

Tanner Glass has left his lockout team in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia.

He will return to North America to await a resolution on a possible 2012-13 NHL season. If the lockout continues then he may go back to the Slovak Extraliga. Glass suited up in six games with HC Banska Bystrica, where he recorded one assist and a jaw-dropping 75 penalty minutes.

Tanner Glass has reportedly signed with HC Banska Bystrica to play in Slovakia during the lockout.

The club plays out of the Slovak Extraliga. Glass signed with Pittsburgh as a free agent this past summer, but his Penguins debut has been put on hold because of the NHL lockout. He'll look to stay sharp by playing in Slovakia and will probably get plenty of ice time.

With the work stoppage, Penguins newcomer Tanner Glass will have less time to fit in with his new teammates.

This will obviously be an issue for many in Glass' position. The 28-year-old played with Winnipeg last year and knows that Pittsburgh plays an uptempo style, but he won't get a chance to build a rhythm with his new teammates in training camp and game situations for a while. "It's definitely something I've thought about," he said. "It's not ideal by any means. That's part of this life. Sometimes you get traded to a team [in midseason] and you don't have much time to get acclimated to your surroundings or your teammates. You've got to be flexible."

Tanner Glass has signed a two-year, $2.2 million contract with the Penguins.

The Pens just got a lot tougher today with the Glass and Steve MacIntyre signings. Glass makes for a nice replacement for Arron Asham. If you need PIMs in your hockey pool Glass has a little value.

Tanner Glass sustained a broken foot in last Friday's game against Carolina.

He won't play again this season. Glass concludes the year with five goals and 11 assists in 78 games, to go along with 246 hits and 73 penalty minutes. He is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Tanner Glass was credited with nine hits and an assist in Tuesday's loss to Pittsburgh.

He was ranked ninth in the league in that category heading into the night and now has a total of 235 hits on the season. Glass has done his job as a bottom-six forward with the Jets in 2011-12, while chipping in 15 points and 68 penalty minutes.

Tanner Glass is looking forward to playing in Vancouver versus his former teammates on Thursday night.

"It's one I've had circled on my calendar all along," said Glass. "You try not to look too far ahead at it, but now that it's here I'm sure it's going to be fun. I have a lot of friends on that team and there are a lot of familiar faces around that city, so I'm looking forward to it." He suited up in 73 regular season games and 20 playoff contests for the Canucks last year, Glass has already notched personal highs in goals (five), assists (nine) and points (14) after 67 matches with the Jets this campaign. He has also collected 54 penalty minutes and a whopping 206 hits.

He was struck by the stick of Boston's Joe Corvo on Tuesday and it forced him to leave the contest. Glass may not be available for Thursday's home game versus San Jose.
Thu, Jan 12, 2012 07:16:00 AM

Tanner Glass played just 4:18 of ice time before exiting Tuesday's contest with a facial injury.

He wasn't able to return after getting hurt in the first period and should be considered day-to-day until further evaluation occurs. He was cut by Boston defenseman Joe Corvo's stick, but no penalty was called on the play. Glass has 12 points and 43 penalty minutes in 42 games this season.
Wed, Jan 11, 2012 07:35:00 AM

Former Vancouver Canuck Tanner Glass, was among the lowest group in the NHL last season in terms of taking the puck away from opponents.

Given that Glass's main job as a fourth-liner was to put pressure on opponents in the hopes of having them cough up the puck, an average of 1.56 takeaways per 60 minutes of ice time is unacceptable.
