The Vancouver Canucks are expected to recall Mike Duco from the minors.

The Canucks need to recall a forward as Andrew Ebbett is expected to miss a couple of months after breaking his collarbone on Saturday versus the Bruins. Ebbett will undergo surgery in the next day or so to fix the collarbone and it appears that the always feisty Duco will be recalled. Duco has played 12 NHL games, all with Florida, and has 60 penalty minutes with nary a point. He has eight goals and 13 points with the Chicago Wolves of the AHL this season and 35 penalty minutes in 33 games.

The Vancouver Canucks acquired the rights to Mike Duco in exchange for Sergei Shirokov.

Mike Duco has been reassigned to the minors.

With Evgeni Dadonov returning from injury on Saturday night against the Islanders there wasn't a roster spot left available for the energetic forward, which didn't appear to sit very well with Panthers coach Pete DeBoer. "Duco did a great job for us," he said. "[GM] Dale [Tallon] and Mike Santos makes those decisions on who comes up and who comes down. I like both guys contributions to our lineup. [Rissmiller] does fit the profile of where we want to go which is bigger and faster." Duco picked up 10 penalty minutes in two appearances with Florida during his brief stint in the NHL.

Mike Duco is hoping to stick with the Florida Panthers and if he does he could be a great source of penalty minutes.

He was recalled from the AHL on Monday, where he leads Rochester with 18 goals this season. However, Duco is an energy player that relishes playing an agitator role and that is where he could help your fantasy squad. He made his season debut on Tuesday night against Philadelphia and dropped his gloves with fellow pest Daniel Carcillo in the contest. Keep an eye on him but keep in mind that it's unclear how long his stint in the NHL will last.
