Derek Dorsett had a healthy off-season and is playing alongside Markus Granlund and Emerson Etem at training camp.
This should be the Canucks fourth line this season. Dorsett had a tough off-season in 2015 as he had double hernia surgery and was forced to miss seven weeks of training in the summer. It was not the case this season so look for Dorsett to get 20-25 points as well as leading or being near the top of the penalty minute category. Sep 25 - 11:05 AM

Derek Dorsett finished his 2015-16 campaign with a bang.

Dorsett picked up a goal and assist, raising his totals to five goals and 16 points in 71 games this season. He also collected a misconduct for squirting Patrick Maroon with water from the bench, for which he was immediately ejected for. The NHL's PIMs leader ends with 177, ranking third on his career high list.
Apr 10 - 2:52 AM

Derek Dorsett fought Brandon Bollig during the first period of 7-3 loss to Calgary.

Dorsett and Bollig did the tango late in the first period while the game was tied at two, so it doesn't seem as though the League's leader in PIMs had much of an effect on the game. Though he did play 10:05 during the game. Dorsett is now up to 162 PIMs in 69 games this season.
Apr 8 - 12:16 AM

Derek Dorsett (undisclosed) is expected to play on Monday night.

He is slated to play with Bo Horvat and Emerson Etem. Dorsett hasn't played since Mar. 25.
Apr 4 - 5:43 PM

Derek Dorsett will be a healthy scratch against Chicago on Sunday.

Dorsett missed nearly two weeks with an upper body injury, but played 14:12 while throwing a hit and a block and a shot on net in Saturday's loss to St. Louis. Coach Willie Desjardins said he hasn't aggravated his injury. If you have him, hopefully you can stash the NHL's leader in PIMs.
Mar 27 - 2:43 PM

The League's leader in penalty minutes returns Friday against the Blues.

It's been nearly two weeks since Dorsett played due to an upper body injury. Through 66 games this season he leads the League with 160 PIMs to go along with his 123 hits. A reverse leaguer's dream.
Mar 25 - 6:08 PM

Derek Dorsett has an upper-body injury.

He is listed as day-to-day, according to the Canucks. Dorsett had two penalty minutes in 13:32 of ice time against Winnipeg on Monday night.
Mar 15 - 3:51 PM

Derek Dorsett extended his PIMs led with seven more while skating just over 10 minutes during Thursday's 3-2 loss to San Jose.

Dorsett fought Michael Haley during the second period while Vancouver was still leading. He's now up to a commanding 153 PIMs on the season.
Mar 4 - 1:34 AM

Derek Dorsett took over the league lead in penalty minutes with another 10 during Friday's 5-2 loss to Calgary.

Truth be told this game misconduct wasn't so bad. He and Deryk Engelland were jawing and roughing each other behind the play with 82 seconds remaining in the game. The refs decided to remove the powder keg from the flame and tossed them both. Dorsett is now up to 133 PIMs, and hopefully remembered to save his boys some hot water.
Feb 20 - 12:02 AM

Derek Dorsett (illness) returned to action on Saturday.

Dorsett was a late scratch on Wednesday with an illness. He played 11:29 and took four minutes in penalties. The rugged winger has three goals and nine points with 121 penalty minutes this season and should be on someone's roster in pools that use penalty minutes as a category.
Feb 14 - 3:18 AM

Derek Dorsett was a late scratch Wednesday night with an illness.

Adjust your lineups accordingly. Jared McCann will take his place in the lineup. Alex Biega will be in the lineup as well as the Canucks tinker with the roster due to illnesses and a spat of injuries of late.
Feb 10 - 9:29 PM

Derek Dorsett will return to Vancouver's lineup on Sunday against the Islanders.

Well, this afternoon's game just got a lot more exciting. Through 44 games this season Dorsett has a whopping 95 hits and 110 PIMs, plus seven points and 30 blocks to boot.
Jan 17 - 3:00 PM

Derek Dorsett will miss Friday's game because he's battling the flu.

This comes at a particularly inopportune time for Dorsett because he was getting a chance to play alongside the Sedin twins. Due to his unavailability, Radim Vrbata will likely slide into the top line role instead.
Jan 15 - 6:02 PM

We already have out first 100+ PIMs man this season, and it's Vancouver's Derek Dorsett with 106.

This is great news for any one in a league where rough guys are rewarded, as the next closest is Wayne Simmonds with merely 82 PIMs. Dorsett has also contributed 82 hits through 36 games, which only lands him within the top-50 league wide but a touch over two hits per game is nothing to scoff at either.
Fri, Dec 25, 2015 08:22:00 PM

Derek Dorsett picked up his first goal since October during Vancouver's 5-4 shootout loss to Florida.

Dorsett's goalless drought spanned 25 games which is remarkable for any forward, even one that doesn't normally get on the score board like Dorsett. He now has three goals and seven points through 35 games.
