The New York Rangers will continue to roll out the same lineup on Friday night in Tampa Bay for Game 4.
Down in the series 2-1 and having given up a dozen goals over the last two games, it wouldn't have been surprising to see Coach Vigneault make a lineup change. But it appears that Matt Hunwick, Chris Summers, and Ryan Bourque will continue to watch from the press box instead. May 22 - 5:26 PM

The Rangers will continue using the same lineup in Wednesday night's Game 3 matchup with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

That means defensemen Matt Hunwick and Chris Summers and forward Ryan Bourque will all be healthy scratches once again for Game 3 in Tampa Bay. Hunwick played in five games, all versus Pittsburgh in the first round, when Kevin Klien was sidelined due to an injury. Summers and Bourque have to see game action and it doesn't appear they will as the Rangers look to advance to a second straight Stanley Cup appearance.

Matt Hunwick, Chris Summers, and Ryan Bourque will be healthy scratches once again for Game 2 against the Lightning Monday night.

The Rangers have used the same lineup since Game 5 versus the Penguins in the first round and are unlikely to change anything going forward. With Kevin Klein fully healthy now, Hunwick has been scratched in each of the last eight Rangers games. If Tanner Glass was unable to go, Bourque would’ve played in his first career postseason game, but that’s not the case. Summers doesn’t expect to crack the Rangers lineup during the playoff run.

The Rangers will not make any changes to their lineup for Game 7 Wednesday night against the Washington Capitals.

Matt Hunwick is the most notable scratch for the Rangers as he played in all five games against the Penguins in the Rangers opening playoff matchup, but has not dressed versus Washington with Kevin Klein fully healthy and able to play every game. Chris Summers and Ryan Bourque are also listed as healthy scratches for Game 7. Mats Zuccarello (concussion) remains out indefinitely and will be forced to watch from the press box once again.

May 13 - 7:14 PM

The NY Rangers will go with the same lineup they have been on Sunday in Game Six as they try to force a seventh game.

Defenseman Matt Hunwick, who has not played since Game Five against the Penguins, will be joined by defender Chris Summers and forward Ryan Bourque. Of the three, only Hunwick has a modicum of potential fantasy value with six points in 13 career games. Albeit none this postseason.

May 10 - 5:20 PM

Coach Alain Vigneault will not make any lineup changes for Game Five against the Washington Capitals. The Rangers trail the series 3-1.

Hunwick, who played in each of the five games against Pittsburgh, has not appeared in the series with Washington. And so continues for Chris Summers and Ryan Bourque as well.
May 8 - 5:45 PM

Head coach Alain Vigneault will use the same lineup from Games 1, 2, and 3 Wednesday night in Washington for Game 4.

That means defensemen Matt Hunwick and Chris Summers will watch from the press box once again. Ryan Bourque, who was called from the Hartford Wolfpack, is also a healthy scratch and just skating with the team as insurance in case a forward is hurt. All three players are expected to be held out of the lineup for the continuation of the Rangers series against the Capitals.

May 6 - 5:40 PM

The Rangers will use the same lineup from Games 1 and 2 which means Matt Hunwick will be a healthy scratch for Game 3 Monday night.

With Kevin Klein now fully recovered from a broken forearm, Hunwick is the odd man out on the Rangers blue line. He was a huge help to the Rangers defense for the last month of the season and in the first round of the playoffs, but will unfortunately have to watch from the press box for the remainder of the playoffs unless a defenseman goes down with an injury. In the five game series with the Penguins, Hunwick was unable to record a point. Chris Summers and Ryan Bourque will also be scratched for Game 3 Monday.

May 4 - 5:25 PM

Matt Hunwick is projected to be a healthy scratch in Game 1 of the Rangers' second round series.

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault indicated that defenseman Kevin Klein would be in the lineup. Hunwick was in the lineup for five contestsin the Rangers' seven-game series against Washington.
Apr 30 - 9:49 AM

Matt Hunwick will return from his one-game absence to face the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night.

Hunwick will pair with Keith Yandle to form their third defensive unit. Hunwick has had a nice season for himself, posting 11 points, 40 blocks, and 48 hits over 48 games.
Mar 31 - 6:55 PM

Matt Hunwick (upper-body) won't play in Sunday's game against Washington.

The 29-year-old has two goals, 11 points and a plus-17 rating in 48 games this season. He should be considered day-to-day at this point.
Mar 29 - 1:22 PM

Matt Hunwick scored what turned out to be the eventual game-winner, and added an assist, in the Rangers' 2-1 victory over the Panthers on Sunday evening.

March 17th, 2012. That's the last time Hunwick put the puck past a goalie. A span of 93 games, while with the Avalanche at Madison Square Garden no less. Hunwick has been a solid contributor to the Rangers' blue line all season long, and won out over John Moore. Hunwick may not have much of a place on your fantasy squad with a goal, nine points, 37 blocks, and 42 hits through 42 games this season, but it's nice to see a journeyman finally find some success.
Mar 15 - 9:12 PM

Matt Hunwick will draw into the Rangers lineup on Saturday.

Hunwick will replace the injured Kevin Klein and this could be his big break as Hunwick is expected to be out for three-four weeks. He'll likely play alongside Keith Yandle in even-man situations but certainly will not on the power play. Hunwick has eight assists in 40 games this season but is a plus-12.
Mar 14 - 8:31 AM

Defenseman Matt Hunwick and forward James Sheppard will both be healthy scratches Wednesday night.

The Rangers will use the same lineup from Tuesday night when they defeated the Islanders 2-1 in Long Island, which means Hunwick and Sheppard will be out. Hunwick hasn’t appeared in a game since the Rangers acquired Keith Yandle, a span of seven consecutive games, and has eight assists in 40 games with a plus 12 rating. Sheppard has played in just two games with the Rangers since being dealt by the Sharks and has scored five goals and 11 assists in 59 games overall this season.
Mar 11 - 6:13 PM

Matt Hunwick will watch from the press box again Wednesday night vs. Detroit.

Hunwick hasn’t seen game action since playing versus the Flames back on February 24th and will continue to be an extra with the Rangers now having a solidified group of starting defensemen. In 40 games this season, he has eight assists and a plus 12 rating. He undoubtedly carries no fantasy value.
