Mark Fistric will not play on Monday due to a lower body injury suffered on Saturday.

Fistric may be out a while but it comes at the best time possible with the 17 day Olympic break just five days away. "We have extras," coach Bruce Boudreau said. "There's no sense rushing anybody. He's had an injury like this in the past. From what I heard yesterday, he just wrapped it and went back out and ended up really hurting himself. So we don't want that to happen." Fistric has no fantasy value in traditional pools with just five points this season. Look for Bryan Allen to take his spot on the blueline Monday.

Mark Fistric has signed a three-year, $3.8 million extension with the Anaheim Ducks.

Fistric will finish out his current one-year, $900,000 contract. After that, he'll make $1.1 million next season, $1.2 million in 2015-16, and $1.5 million in the final campaign of the deal. He has five assists and 18 penalty minutes in 27 games this season.

Ducks defenseman Mark Fistric was credited with eight of Anaheim's 48 hits in their 2-1 victory over Los Angeles on Thursday, twice as many hits as the Kings had.

Fistric is adiming to be similarly effective when the Ducks and Kings square off at Dodger Stadium for an outdoor game tonight. "They’re a big, heavy team, with a physical presence, and you have to push back on them," Fistric said of the Kings. "The only way to beat them is to try to beat them at their own game."
