Andrew Murray has been recalled by St. Louis.
"Peoria has only two games remaining and if Andrew got hurt, it would be shame on us," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "He's an extra guy. He's available to us. We're going to need him and we want to make him part of the group right away." The Blues have injuries to T. J. Oshie, Scott Nichol and Jamie Langenbrunner and Peoria won't make it to the AHL playoffs. Murray has skated in one NHL game this season. Thu, Apr 18, 2013 05:52:00 PM

Helene St. James reports that the Detroit Red Wings are unlikely to sign Andrew Murray despite the fact that he was part of the Brad Stuart trade.

The conditional 2014 draft pick might be the biggest thing the Red Wings get from that trade, then. James refers to Murray as a mere "throw-in" in the deal.

The San Jose Sharks sent Andrew Murray to the Detroit Red Wings in the Brad Stuart trade.

The Columbus Blue Jackets drafted Murray in the eighth round in 2001. He played 39 games for the Sharks last season, collecting four points and four penalty minutes. Overall in his NHL career, he's played 220 games and scored 40 points. He's unlikely to make a significant impact on the Red Wings roster, although his solid size might give him a chance to occasionally play on the NHL level.

San Jose's Andrew Murray cleared waivers and was subsequently assigned to Worcester (AHL).

Murray, who last dressed for the Sharks on Jan. 23, was placed on waivers Monday. The 30-year-old D-man has played 39 games this season, is 1-3-4 and a plus-3. He agreed to one-year deal last summer.

Andrew Murray has been placed on waivers by the San Jose Sharks.

Andrew Murray was a healthy scratch on Thursday.

Frazer McLaren drew into the lineup in place of Murray. Just an FYI as neither player has any fantasy value.

The Sharks expect Andrew Murray to compete for a job on the team's third or fourth lines.

"It’s for competition," said Sharks GM Doug Wilson. "He’s a very detailed player, played his best hockey under Ken Hitchcock who used him a lot. The details of his game are something that coaches are always looking for. To add him to our group of players competing for spots is healthy." Murray is signed to a two-way contract to there's no guarantee he makes the squad out of camp, but the big winger can play on both sides of the ice and can kills penalties so he does offer some potential. He's unlikely to have any fantasy value.

Andrew Murray will probably be allowed to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.

The Columbus Blue Jackets aren't likely to offer him a contract before the free agent period, but they might still come to terms down the road. Murray is coming off a disappointing season where he scored four goals and eight points in just 29 games due to knee and lower body injuries.

It remains to be seen if the Columbus Blue Jackets will offer Andrew Murray a contract.

Murray is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent after a terrible season. He was limited to just 29 games due to knee and lower body injuries. He has played in a total of just 75 contests over the last two seasons and we wouldn't be surprised if he ends up starting the 2011-12 season in the minors.

Andrew Murray won't be available for "awhile" due to a lower body injury.

Although we aren't sure how long "awhile" will prove to be, Murray definitely won't play on Friday. Adjust your lineups accordingly.

Andrew Murray suffered a lower body injury in the second period on Thursday and did not return.

Murray has four goals and eight points in 29 games this season so his fantasy value is negligible. Consider him day-to-day for now.
