Date:

Teddy Purcell cleared waivers on Sunday.

However it's not yet clear what the next step will be for the veteran winger. He could stick around, be sent to AHL Ontario, be traded, have his contract terminated, or loaned abroad. Of course, it's the first two options that are most likely. We shall see.
Dec 4 - 12:55 PM

Teddy Purcell has been placed on waivers by the Kings.

And thus a dreadful season for Purcell takes another sour turn. The 31-year-old winger has been hampered by poor health and ineffective play all season. He posted just a pair of helpers in 12 games. Purcell carries a $1.6 hit to the cap, and the Kings will be spared just over half of it should he go unclaimed and sent to the AHL.
Dec 3 - 12:32 PM

Teddy Purcell and Jeff Zatkoff will not play in Saturday's match against the Blackhawks.

Purcell will now have gone a full week without playing, which is no surprise given that he's posted just two points in 12 games so far this season.
Nov 26 - 3:20 PM

Teddy Purcell earned his first point with the Kings on Friday in a 2-1 loss to Ottawa.

He contributed the secondary assist on a goal by Dwight King. Purcell didn't have a point in his previous six appearances this season.
Nov 12 - 10:35 AM

Teddy Purcell will get back into the lineup on Thursday versus Pittsburgh.

He missed eight games because of a nagging lower-body injury and an illness. "Hopefully [he'll bring] that element of scoring," coach Darryl Sutter said. "He has the ability to do that, create and hang on to pucks in the offensive zone." Purcell is projected to join the top line alongside Tanner Pearson and Anze Kopitar.
Nov 3 - 6:01 PM

Teddy Purcell, Jordan Nolan and Matt Greene will each be scratched from Saturday's match with the Blues.

This will be six straight games on the pine for Purcell, though it sounds like he's nearing a return. Nolan and Greene have also failed to produce thus far, so feel free to leave them on the wire.

Oct 29 - 6:22 PM

Teddy Purcell is apparently only at 90 percent after he was "banged up" and sick at the end of training camp.

Purcell has been scratched for the last five games after he played in the first two matches of the season.
Oct 29 - 11:10 AM

Teddy Purcell, Jordan Nolan and Matt Greene will each be scratched from Thursday's match with Nashville.

Unfortunately, this trio has become the Kings' standard scratches which indicates that they don't have much of a role with the team. At least not at this time. So they don't offer much fantasy value.
Oct 27 - 7:40 PM

Teddy Purcell, Jordan Nolan and Matt Greene will each be scratched from Saturday's match with Vancouver.

Unfortunately none of these three have managed to make an impact on the stat sheet. Purcell has been especially disappointing given his talent level and the production he provided last season. If he ever gets going though, he'll make for solid depth for both you and LA.
Oct 22 - 8:51 PM

Teddy Purcell, Jordan Nolan and Matt Greene will each be scratched from Thursday's match with Dallas.

Purcell has been a disappointment through two games played with no points and just over 12 minutes of ice per. Nolan, who is more known for his physical play, hasn't been. Greene has been better, with seven hits in two games, is seeing about as much time as Purcell, which does not bode well for his long term prospects.
Oct 20 - 7:11 PM

Teddy Purcell will be a healthy scratch in Tuesday's game against Minnesota.

Purcell played in both the regular season and home opener for the Kings, but didn't really stand out in those games. He has no points and a minus-2 rating so far. Matt Greene and Kyle Clifford will watch the game from the press box as well.

Oct 18 - 8:08 PM

The Los Angeles Kings have made their signing of Teddy Purcell official.

The move was first reported on July 1, but the Kings weren't ready to announce the deal prior to Wednesday. Based on the previous report, Purcell's one-year deal is worth $1.6 million. He had 14 goals and 43 points in 76 games between Edmonton and Florida last season.
Jul 6 - 9:54 PM

Teddy Purcell has signed a one-year deal to return to LA worth $1.6M.

Purcell began his career with the Kings, posting 25 points in 91 games from 2007-10. Last season he posted 11 points in 15 games with Florida after the trade deadline. The veteran winger will be 31-years-old in September and has been good for about a dozen goals and 35-40 points the last few seasons.
Jul 1 - 5:26 PM

Teddy Purcell is open to staying with the Panthers.

He posted 11 points in 15 games with Florida after he was acquired from Edmonton and feels he fit in nicely with the team. If the Panthers decide they don't want him back or feel he is asking for too much then he will become an unrestricted free agent in July.
