Erik Ersberg has been placed on waivers by the Los Angeles Kings.

Ersberg has already cleared waivers once this month. He is expected to join a KHL squad.

Erik Ersberg has successfully cleared waivers.

Ersberg will probably start the season in the AHL. Jon Quick will serve as the Kings' starting goaltender and Jonathan Bernier will be his understudy.

The Nashville Predators have "no interest" in Erik Ersberg, according to coach Barry Trotz.

The Kings put Ersberg on waivers Monday and rumors started to circulate that the Predators had placed a claim on him, but that doesn't appear to have any truth to it. Nashville is set to enter the 2010-11 campaign with Pekka Rinne and Anders Lindback as their goaltenders.

Erik Ersberg has been waived by the Los Angeles Kings.

The move comes as no surprise as Jonathan Bernier was expected to seize the number two goalie role at training camp behind Jon Quick.

Erik Ersberg could be the odd man out in Los Angeles.

Ersberg has yet to play in a pre-season game as he has been sidelined with a hand injury. Jon Quick will get the start in goal on Saturday and coach Terry Murray has not committed to either Ersberg or Jonathan Bernier for Sunday's tilt. If Ersberg does not play, expect the Kings to send him to the minors and have Quick and Bernier as their starting two netminders.

Erik Ersberg might go the whole preseason without playing in a single game.

Ersberg was sidelined for several days with a hand injury, but the Kings might still bench him even though he's healthy. They have three exhibition games left and Jon Quick will start two of them, including Tuesday's contest. It's still possible that Ersberg will split the remaining game with Jonathan Bernier, but coach Terry Murray wouldn't commit to that. "That’s what I have to think about," Murray said. "That’s what I need to sort out here, as we get into the last two games and think about the one game that Quick will not play. So we’ll discuss that as we get closer to that time. I have not made a lineup, in any area of the lineup, for the next couple of games yet." Ersberg is technically fighting with Bernier for the backup job, but we'd be surprised if Ersberg ends up winning it.

The Los Angeles Kings’ goalie situation is not very clear at this point.

Erik Ersberg has been injured with a hand/wrist contusion. He has been scheduled to make a preseason start but coaching decisions have changed that at the last second. Thus far Jon Bernier has started twice (five periods of play), Jon Quick has started once (three periods of play), and Ersberg has yet to sniff any action. We believe that Quick will get the job with Bernier as his backup. The team should share time throughout the season, leaving Ersberg the odd-man out.

Erik Ersberg is back on the ice practicing today for the Los Angeles Kings.

He and Scott Parse both were held out of practice recently due to injuries. Ersberg was having a problem with his hand while Parse had a sore foot. The Kings camp is crowded with some more cuts to be made soon.

Erik Ersberg will miss Wednesday's preseason games due to a hand injury.

Ersberg sustained the injury during Sunday's practice. "Everything is fine," coach Terry Murray said. "We had it x-rayed and we had it looked at carefully by the doctors. Ersberg will stay back and we’re hoping, with a day of treatment, that he’s able to get back, and we’ll take a look at it for the Phoenix game at home. Quick will still play, but I’ll take a look at it. Maybe there’s an opportunity for a period (for Ersberg). I do want Quick to play. The plan is to play him 60 minutes, but with the circumstances, I’ll review it." Ersberg is fighting with Jonathan Bernier for a spot on the roster as Jon Quick's understudy.

Erik Ersberg could be the odd man out in Los Angeles as Jonathan Bernier and Jon Quick may have the inside track in the net.

Ersberg only played in 11 NHL games last season as the Kings went with Quick for most of the season. When Quick was injured, the Kings brought Bernier up and played him. "We had a good conversation about the year," Ersberg said of his conversation with coach Terry Murray. "I laid out what I thought about things, and he said how he looked at things. So we got a little better understanding of each other's point of view. I think it was a good meeting. We ventilated a little bit. It's what you do after a season. If you've got something on your mind, you need to say it. I think it was a good meeting." If Ersberg does not make the Kings out of training camp there are three possibilities for him. He could go to the minors, go to another NHL team or return to play in Europe. Stay tuned.

Erik Ersberg stopped 31 of 32 shots in a 2-1 overtime win against the Avalanche.

The win vaulted the Kings over Nashville into sixth where they'll play Vancouver in the first round of the playoffs.

Erik Ersberg came on in relief of Jon Quick and held on to give the Kings the 5-4 shootout win over the Ducks Tuesday.

Quick was brutal allowing three goals on only eight shots. He better get his act together soon— he’s winless in his last six games. Ersberg, meanwhile was solid stopping 12 of 13 shots. Despite limited action, he hasn’t allowed more than four goals all season, and that four-goal game was in early December.

Erik Ersberg (back) has been cleared to play.

The announcement was made after the Kings 8-3 thrashing of the Canucks on Thursday. The Kings now have to decide if they return their emergency goaltender recall, Jonathan Bernier to the minors or make him one of their four callups. We think that the Kings will return Bernier to Manchester of the AHL and go with Jon Quick the rest of the way with Ersberg as his backup.

Erik Ersberg is sidelined with a strained back.

The Kings have already called up Jonathan Bernier, so Ersberg isn't expected to serve as the starting or backup goaltender on Monday. Ersberg has no fantasy value.
