James Reimer allowed three goals on 27 shots as the Panthers blew a two-goal lead against Carolina and lost 3-2 on Sunday.
Reimer drops to 3-4-1 this season with a 3.05 goals against average and .896 save percentage. Perhaps the Panthers' coaching change will serve as a wakeup call to the underperforming Reimer and his teammates, as the Atlantic Division champions from last year are in fifth place and barely over .500. Date:

James Reimer will get the nod against the Hurricanes on Sunday.

This Reimer's eighth game of the season, and the third time he's capped off a back-to-backer. To this date he's 3-3-1 with an .897 save percentage and a 3.05 GAA. So you may wish to find a more favorable matchup.
Nov 27 - 5:36 PM

Look for James Reimer to get the start Sunday afternoon against the Hurricanes.

Roberto Luongo started and won Saturday night and could get Sunday's game off. Reimer is coming off a 3-2 shootout win over the Rangers last week and will be looking to improve on his 3-3-1 record, 3.05 goals-against average and .897 save percentage.
Nov 27 - 9:42 AM

James Reimer made 32 stops on 35 shots and then another two in the shootout to help the Panthers beat New York 3-2 on Sunday.

Reimer made up for an awful start against Toronto last week to get his record back to .500. Reimer is 3-3-1 this year with a 3.05 goals against average and an .897 save percentage so far. Look for the veteran's stats to improve if he can find his game in Florida.
Nov 20 - 11:26 PM

James Reimer will get the nod against the Rangers on Sunday.

Reimer hasn't been very good this season, with 20 goals against in just six games of work thus far. Considering how blistering hot the Rangers have been this season, this could be a start to avoid if you can.

Nov 20 - 2:18 PM

James Reimer could get the start Sunday against the Rangers.

We say "could" because the Panthers played Saturday night and Roberto Luongo was both spectacular and busy in a 4-1 win over Ottawa. Reimer, however, was very weak in a 6-1 loss to Toronto in his last start. So we suspect coach Gerard Gallant will rest the 39-year-old Luongo in the second game of back-to-back contests and give Reimer the start. If that is the case, the start will not be based on merit.
Nov 20 - 9:19 AM

James Reimer gave up six goals on 30 shots in Thursday's 6-1 loss to the Maple Leafs.

Reimer spent parts of six seasons in Toronto and this probably isn't the way he wanted to make his return. He has a 2-3-1 record with a 3.26 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage in 2016-17. His fantasy value is minimal right now, but should Roberto Luongo get hurt, his value would spike.
Nov 17 - 11:03 PM

James Reimer will be between the pipes against Toronto on Thursday night.

The Leafs traded Reimer to San Jose last year and he ended up signing with the Panthers in the summer. He has a 2-2-1 record this season with a 2.73 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage.
Nov 16 - 1:33 PM

James Reimer allowed three goals on 28 shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to his former team, the San Jose Sharks.

Reimer finished last season with Sharks, after they acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs. His team jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period, but San Jose stormed back by scoring four in a row (one was into an empty net). Reimer has a 2-2-1 record with a 2.73 goals-against-average and a .905 save percentage this season.
Nov 11 - 12:03 AM

James Reimer will be in goal for Thursday's contest against the San Jose Sharks.

"Both of them have been good," coach Gerard Gallant said of his goaltenders. "We just want to keep them both fresh, and that's the mindset when [goalie coach Robb Tallas] makes the schedule. He wants to keep them fresh, and so far it's worked out real good because they've played real good hockey for us." Reimer played in eight games for the Sharks last season after he was obtained in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs. In four previous starts with the Panthers, he owns a 2-1-1 record, a 2.66 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage.
Nov 10 - 8:07 AM

James Reimer stopped 31 of 34 shots in Thursday's 4-3 OT win over the New Jersey Devils.

The Panthers appeared to be in control of the game up 3-1 in the third period, but they allowed the Devils to tie the game and force overtime. Florida eventually won the game on a goal by Vincent Trocheck in the extra frame. Reimer's record improves to 2-1-1 on the season. He has a 2.66 goals-against-average and a .908 save percentage. His fantasy value would grow significantly if starter Roberto Luongo were to suffer an injury.
Nov 3 - 11:24 PM

James Reimer, not Roberto Luongo as previously reported, will face New Jersey on Thursday night.

Reimer has had a nice start to his season with a 1-1-1 record and just eight goals against. The Devils don't boast the strongest offense, especially outside of their top line, so tonight might be a nice sneaky win.
Nov 3 - 7:07 PM

James Reimer put his early season struggles in the rearview mirror with a 34-save performance against Detroit on Sunday.

Reimer stopped 34/36 in Florida's 5-2 romp over the Red Wings, evening Reimer's record at 1-1-1 with a .907 save percentage and 2.60 goals against average. He's one of the better backups in the league and would be a quality start whenever Roberto Luongo is given a night off.
Oct 30 - 8:56 PM

James Reimer indeed will face Detroit on Sunday afternoon.

Reimer has allowed six goals through his first two games and 50 combined shots, but he's achieved a career .914 save percentage and the Red Wings are no world-beaters. Which makes Reimer a potential steal in the week's finale.
Oct 30 - 12:36 PM

Look for James Reimer to get the start Sunday against Detroit.

Roberto Luongo started Saturday afternoon against the Sabres and given the fact that the Panthers want to give the 37-year-old netminder more rest this season, Reimer starting in the second of the Cats; back-to-back games is a no-brainer. The game starts at 5:00 pm so make sure you have Reimer active.
