James Reimer stopped 30 of 34 shots in Sunday's 4-0 loss to Chicago.
The loss ends Reimer's personal two-game winning streak. Chicago just outclassed Toronto from start to finish tonight. Reimer's record falls to 6-4-0 with a 3.26 goals-against-average and a .907 save percentage this season. The 26-year-old has been up and down throughout the year, and he remains a good backup goaltender. Dec 21 - 9:59 PM

Date:

Confirming an earlier report, James Reimer will indeed be between the pipes Sunday in Chicago.

In nine starts and 12 games, Reimer has been beaten 32 times on 353 shots. That's a .909 save percentage and 3.19 GAA. However, he did kick away 45 shots in a win over Chicago in November.
Dec 21 - 6:40 PM

Look for James Reimer to get the start against the Blackhawks Sunday night.

He will likely play the second game of back-to-back contests this weekend as Jonathan Bernier will start against the Flyers Saturday night. Reimer has played very well in limited action in December stopping 74 of 78 shots.
Dec 20 - 11:58 AM

James Reimer stopped 33 of 36 shots in Sunday's 4-3 shootout win over Los Angeles.

Reimer also stopped all three Kings' shooters in the shootout. The 26-year-old has now won back-to-back starts for the first time since mid-October. Reimer's record improves to 6-3-0 on the season. The Leafs have now won five consecutive games, and are 9-1-1 since their 9-2 blowout loss to Nashville on November 18th.
Dec 14 - 8:05 PM

James Reimer will start Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Reimer is coming off a strong performance against Detroit on December 10th, and with Jonathan Bernier playing last night, Reimer will play tonight. The 26-year-old has a 5-3-0 record with a 3.31 goals-against-average and a .908 save percentage.
Dec 14 - 4:34 PM

James Reimer tweaked his groin muscle in practice on Friday.

It is probably why he is not getting the start against the Red Wings Saturday night after his sensational performance Tuesday when he stopped 41 shots in a 2-1 shootout victory against these same Red Wings, his first action since November 18th. It looks as if Reimer will be dressing as the backup netminder, though.
Dec 13 - 11:55 AM

James Reimer, Toronto's backup goalie, turned in a gem Wednesday night, making 41 saves in regulation and overtime en route to the Maple Leafs' 2-1 shootout victory over the Red Wings in Detroit.

Jonathan Bernier, the Leafs' No. 1 netminder, was given the night off after nine consecutive starts, including a 4-1 victory over the Calgary Flames in Toronto Tuesday night. Reimer started for the first time in December, after going 2-2 in November. He gave up six goals to the lowly Buffalo Sabres in his last start, on November 15. Reimer showed no rust in Detroit, making several first-rate saves. He stopped the Wings' Niklas Kronwall, who was cutting down the middle in the slot and took a wrist shot, with nine seconds left in regulation. Reimer improved his season record to 5-3, his goals-against average to 3.31 and his save percentage to .908.
Dec 10 - 11:09 PM

James Reimer will in fact start for the Maple Leafs Wednesday versus the Detroit Red Wings.

Reimer will be between the pipes Wednesday despite Jonathan Bernier's hot streak. Bernier had started nine straight games for the Leafs, so a day off is necessary, especially having faced Calgary Tuesday night. In nine games this season, Reimer has a 4-3 record, 3.64 goals-agianst-average, and .898 save percentage. He has yet to record a shutout and will look to right the ship in Detroit Wednesday in his first start for the Leafs since November 15th.
Dec 10 - 7:32 PM

It's possible that James Reimer could play against Detroit on Wednesday.

Jonathan Bernier has made nine straight starts for the Maple Leafs, including Tuesday's 4-1 win against Calgary. The Leafs may decide to continue riding the hot hand and go with Bernier, who has won six of his past eight outings. We would consider Bernier the probable starter, but confirmation isn't expected to come until the pregame warmup.
Dec 10 - 2:26 PM

James Reimer made Buffalo fans happy, giving up six goals in Toronto’s 6-2 loss Saturday night.

The Leafs were the better possession team, but Reimer was simply awful and gave away the game. It’s these types of performances that will severely set him back in his chase to get more playing time in place of Jonathan Bernier. Reimer has a 2.14 goals-against average and .912 save percentage this season. He's nothing but a handcuff at this point.
Nov 15 - 10:45 PM

Updating an earlier item, James Reimer will start against the Sabres Saturday night.

Jonathan Bernier started and lost 2-1 to the Penguins Friday night so it makes sense to start Reimer in the second of back-to-back games against a weak NHL opponent. Reimer is coming off a strong 38-save, 5-3 win over Ottawa Sunday night. He also owns a 7-2-2 career mark against the Sabres.
Nov 15 - 11:40 AM

James Reimer is expected to play between the pipes on Saturday.

Reimer will be playing against Buffalo, so the chances of him having a good start are high. He has a 2.65 GAA and .925 save percentage in seven contests in 2014-15.
Nov 14 - 1:04 PM

James Reimer stopped 38 of 41 shots in Toronto's 5-3 win over Ottawa on Sunday.

The Senators had three separate leads in this game but couldn't hold on for the win. Reimer is now 4-2-0 this season with a 2.65 goals-against-average and a .925 save-percentage.
Nov 9 - 9:00 PM

James Reimer will get the start Sunday against Ottawa.

Jonathan Bernier will get the call Saturday against the Rangers as the Maple Leafs play in back-to-back games this weekend. Reimer is coming off a 30-save, 3-2 loss to Arizona Tuesday night but he has a great career record against the Sens so make sure he is active Sunday.
Nov 8 - 11:55 AM

James Reimer made 30 saves in a solid outing but it wasn't enough as the Leafs fell 3-2 to Arizona on Tuesday.

Reimer would probably like the first two goals of this contest back but it should be noted that the plays were the product of some pretty sloppy defensive play on the Leafs part. It was a little bit surprise that Reimer got the start in the first place but fantasy owners have to be happy with his save percentage in this game. It would make sense that head coach Randy Caryle would go back to Jonathan Bernier in the next start. This looks to be a wide open contest in the Leafs net for the starting job. though.
