It wasn't entirely his fault, that's for sure, but Maple Leafs goaltender James Reimer didn't have a particularly strong night against the Senators during Toronto's 4-3 loss in Ottawa Wednesday night.
Reimer stopped 22 of the 26 shots he faced but gave up a couple of softies, which hasn't been the case all that often in his games against the Sens during his career. Reimer entered the game with a career 9-2-1 record, a 1.98 goals-against average, and a .944 save percentage against Ottawa. Wednesday, however, he was down 3-0 after the first period. His record in this forgettable season for the Leafs dropped to 6-9-0. He has a 3.32 GAA and a .906 save percentage. He's had an unimpressive season as part of an unimpressive team, a team that is in complete disarray and appears to be out of playoff contention. The Leafs enter the all-star break with six consecutive losses. Jan 21 - 10:19 PM

Date:

James Reimer will be between the pipes Wednesday night against Ottawa.

Fantasy owners will want to start Reimer Wednesday night when he faces the Senators. He owns a 9-2-1 record, 1.98 goals-against-average, and .944 save percentage in his career against Ottawa.

James Reimer made 39 saves in Thursday's 3-1 defeat to San Jose.

Reimer played very well, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. He nearly stopped Tyler Kennedy's opening marker, and the Situation Room's only comment on Patrick Marleau's eventual-winner was that it did indeed cross the goal line. This despite Matt Nieto's controversial means of whacking Reimer's pad to knock the puck in. The Leafs were out-shot in the final 40 minutes 30-12, so he didn't have much help. But did improve his save percentage to .906, and GAA to 3.41.
Jan 16 - 1:50 AM

James Reimer will get the start in San Jose on Thursday night.

Reimer comes in with an uninspiring 6-7-0 record in 16 games this season, he's also allowed 49 goals in that time. Unfortunately his record against San Jose is nothing to brag about either, he's 1-3-0 in four games with 13 goals against. Try to find a more favorable match-up.
Jan 15 - 10:05 PM

James Reimer made 35 saves as Toronto got trounced 5-1 by the Jets on Saturday night.

Blame Reimer (undeservingly) all you want, but the fact of the matter is you don’t deserve to win when you’re out-shot 40-21. Reimer, who made 35 saves, has now lost his last four starts, giving up 17 goals during that timeframe. He has a 3.50 goals-against average and .902 save percentage.
Jan 3 - 10:12 PM

Confirming an earlier report, James Reimer will indeed start in Winnipeg on Saturday night.

Through a dozen starts and 15 games, Reimer has been beaten a whopping 44 times so far this season. We've seen that Reimer can be much better when he's playing consistently, but that's not the case in Toronto this season. Jonathan Bernier has started twice as much.
Jan 3 - 6:43 PM

Look for James Reimer to get the start Saturday against Winnipeg.

Jonathan Bernier was in goal for the Maple Leafs' 3-1 loss to Minnesota Friday night, so Reimer will get the call Saturday evening. He is coming off a 3-2 loss to Tampa last Monday and will be hoping for a better result.
Jan 3 - 11:59 AM

Toronto goalie James Reimer made 38 saves Monday night, and held a 2-0 lead after one period, but he and the Maple Leafs wound up being edged 3-2 by the Lightning in Tampa Bay.

Reimer started back-to-back nights with Jonathan Bernier out because of an illness. The Leafs squandered a lead against the Panthers on Sunday night, too. Reimer wasn't bad at all Monday night but his numbers on the season aren't impressive. He's now 6-6-0, with a goals-against average of 3.39 and a save percentage of .905.

James Reimer will start once again for the Leafs Monday night against the Lightning.

Reimer just started Sunday night in a 6-4 loss to the Panthers, but will be back in net again Monday in Tampa Bay. Jonathan Bernier is close to returning but head coach Randy Carlyle will rest Bernier for another game. Reimer has an ugly 3.42 goals-against-average and .902 save percentage in 14 games played this season.

Goalie James Reimer, getting a last-minute start in the Toronto net because of an illness to first-string goalie Jonathan Bernier, made 28 saves Sunday in a 6-4 loss to the Panthers in Florida.

Reimer started for the Maple Leafs when Bernier was scratched with what the club called flu-like symptoms. The Panthers trailed the Leafs 4-2 after two periods but scored four goals, including an empty-netter, in the third to come back for the victory. Reimer kept the Leafs in the game most of the night but wound up with the loss. His record fell to 6-4 and his goals-against average increased to 3.26. His save percentage is now .907. Toronto recalled goaltender Christopher Gibson from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League to back up Reimer. To make room for Gibson, the Leafs placed forward Leo Komarov on injured reserve retroactive to Nov. 29. Komarov suffered a concussion in Toronto's Nov. 29 game against the Washington Capitals but participated in the team's Saturday practice.

James Reimer will indeed start Sunday evening versus the Florida Panthers.

Updating an earlier report, Reimer will in fact be in net for the Leafs Sunday. With Jonathan Bernier out with flu-like symptoms, Reimer will get the nod and go for his seventh win in what will be his 14th game played of the season.
Sun, Dec 28, 2014 04:46:00 PM

Jonathan Bernier is dealing with flu-like symptoms, so look for James Reimer to start for the Toronto Maple Leafs against the Florida Panthers on Sunday instead.

The Maple Leafs play again on Monday, so there's a chance we might see Christopher Gibson, as well. Keep an eye out for late announcements in case Toronto makes some tweaks.

Look for James Reimer to get the start Monday against the Lightning.

The Maple Leafs play in back-to-back games, the first Sunday night against the Panthers. Jonathan Bernier will get that start, making it very likely Reimer is in goal Monday in Tampa.
Sun, Dec 28, 2014 12:07:00 PM

James Reimer stopped 30 of 34 shots in Sunday's 4-0 loss to Chicago.

The loss ends Reimer's personal two-game winning streak. Chicago just outclassed Toronto from start to finish tonight. Reimer's record falls to 6-4-0 with a 3.26 goals-against-average and a .907 save percentage this season. The 26-year-old has been up and down throughout the year, and he remains a good backup goaltender.

Confirming an earlier report, James Reimer will indeed be between the pipes Sunday in Chicago.

In nine starts and 12 games, Reimer has been beaten 32 times on 353 shots. That's a .909 save percentage and 3.19 GAA. However, he did kick away 45 shots in a win over Chicago in November.
