Jesse Winchester (concussion) took part in practice on Sunday.

However, it doesn't sound like he's ready to return to the lineup yet. "If I played in a game right now I'd be hurting the team, because I'm not right," Winchester said. "It's hard to explain. I'm trying anything and everything to get healthy." He is feeling much better and is still waiting to make his Avalanche debut in the regular season.

Jesse Winchester (concussion) won't be rushed back into the lineup.

"We're not going to push on him," coach Patrick Roy said. "We'll follow the protocol and make sure he's 100 percent when he comes up. We're never going to force our players to come back. And we're certainly not going to push them to come back either." It was thought that Winchester could return on Thursday, but the Avalanche have apparently hit the brakes on that.
