Left winger Tom Sestito is limping conspicuously.

It's more than likely that he will be out of the Vancouver Canucks' lineup tonight when the team visits the Phoenix Coyotes.

The Vancouver Canucks have claimed Tom Sestito.

Sestito is an enforcer who will replace Aaron Volpatti, who the Canucks recently lost on waivers. If Vancouver usually Sestito regularly, then he will end up with a ton of PIMs, but we wouldn't be surprised if he spends a lot of time in the press box.
Mar 1 - 12:17 PM

Tom Sestito has been waived by Philadelphia.

He has been a healthy scratch for the Flyers since Feb. 11 and while on a minor-league conditioning assignment he suffered a charley horse about a week ago. If Sestito isn't claimed then he'll get the chance to work himself back up to speed with AHL Adirondack.
Feb 28 - 2:35 PM

Tom Sestito went down to the AHL for some conditioning, and he ended up suffering a lower-body injury Friday night.

The tough guy will be re-evaluated tomorrow. He has just two goals in seven games, to go along with 12 penalty minutes, with the Flyers.
Feb 22 - 11:31 PM

Tom Sestito scored both Flyers goals in a 2-1 win over Tampa Bay Tuesday night.

Sestito is not a player you're likely to employ on your roster, but you're pretty happy if you do. The goals are the first two of the season for the role player who failed to score in 14 contests last year.
Feb 5 - 11:24 PM

Tom Sestito made his season debut on Thursday.

He dropped the gloves with New York Rangers forward/defenseman Stu Bickel 2:37 into the game. Sestito finished the contest with seven penalty minutes in just over seven minutes of ice time.
Jan 25 - 8:56 AM

Tom Sestito is suffering from a case of the mumps, according to the Flyers.

During the lockout he played 17 games in the UK with the Sheffield Steelers of the Elite Ice Hockey League. He accumulated eight goals, 19 points and 69 penalty minutes with his lockout team. Sestito can provide PIMs if he starts the year with Philadelphia, but his roster position with the team is not guaranteed.
Jan 10 - 10:12 AM

Tom Sestito has left the EIHL's Sheffield Steelers and will return home on Wednesday.

In 17 games, Sestito posted eight goals, 19 points and 69 penalty minutes. "We though can't stand in Tommy's way and he has several other options should the NHL remain locked out," said Steelers coach Ryan Finnerty. "Tommy is going to return home on Wednesday and I would think head back over to Europe before too long if the lockout continues. There are some big money teams looking for guys right now who can pay Tommy well. Tommy was up front with us all along. He has more than played his part for us and we can't thank him enough and have nothing but good things to say about the big man."

Tom Sestito earned an automatic three-game suspension on Sunday, while playing with the EIHL's Sheffield Steelers.

He was assessed a match penalty and was ejected in the second period for a hit that made contact with the head. The team was set to appeal the decision. Sestito has six points and 54 penalty minutes in just five games.

Philadelphia Flyers tough guy Tom Sestito scored a goal and an assist to lead the Sheffield Steelers to a 2-1 win against Belfast.

It's unlikely that Sestito will be come a scoring machine on the heels of his play in England, but the pugilist might just enjoy dominating inferior competition. If nothing else, it might be a fun change of pace for him - and maybe a slight confidence booster.

Tom Sestito said he will join the Sheffield Steelers to play in England during the lockout.

The Steelers play out of the Elite Ice Hockey League. Sestito had one assist and 83 penalty minutes in only 14 games with Philadelphia last season.

Tom Sestito is scheduled to have surgery because of a torn groin muscle.

It will take Sestito six-to-eight weeks to recover, which means it's entirely possible that he has played in his final 2011-12 regular season game. He has an assist and 83 penalty minutes in 14 games this season.
