Tom Sestito thinks that he will be back in the NHL next season.

Sestito led the NHL in penalty minutes with 213 last season but with fighting down, the Canucks rarely used the 27-year-old and put him on waivers three weeks ago. He was sent to Utica of the AHL when he passed through waivers as he had an assist and seven penalty minutes in three NHL games this season. "It’s changing but I’m not worried about it too much right now," Sestito said. "It’s pretty tough to get picked up off waivers because clubs have cap issues with roster spots and contracts. I’m pretty confident and I’ll be up in the NHL somewhere next year. I showed I can play and I’ve just got to get more confidence down here and there will be an NHL team that will want me — maybe by the (trade) deadline or maybe next year. I believe that. I’m sure I’ll be back."

Tom Sestito will be a healthy scratch Sunday when the Canucks visit the Ducks.

Sestito had just played in the Canucks last game on December 22nd, but with head coach Willie Desjardins' decision to promote Derek Dorsett to the second line and Jannik Hansen healthy again, Sestito will once again be a healthy scratch.
