The Devils "have every intention" of re-signing minor league goalie Jeff Frazee.

The unrestricted free agent received an offer to play in Sweden next year. In the AHL this season, he was 8-14-5 with a 2.58 goals-against average and .916 save percentage. The Devils have a few other goalie prospects in the organization, and general manager Lou Lamoriello is happy to let them "fight" out player positions.

Goaltender Jeff Frazee was very disappointed in his 2009-10 campaign.

Frazee was thought to be the Devils goaltender of the future heading into the 2009-10 season but a weak season has dropped him down the depth chart. "There were stretches where I was playing really well and stretches where I couldn't seem to keep the puck out of the net," Frazee said. "I think it was just average. Nobody wants to be average. I expect more out of myself and I expected to build off things I did in my first year, but you can't go back and change things. You have to move forward." Frazee, the Devils second round selection, 38th overall in the 2005 Entry Draft, will try to rebound this season. He was backing up Mike McKenna at Lowell at the end of the 2009-10 season. He will try to turn that around next year.
