Chris Butler has been reassigned to the minors.

The Blues are getting healthier on the back end with Jay Bouwmeester returning on Monday and Carl Gunnarsson getting closer, so Butler's presence on emergency recall isn't needed anymore. He appeared in three games during his call up and has skated in five matches with St. Louis this season.

Butler has no points in two games this season. His demotion could be a signal that Kevin Shattenkirk is ready to return from his groin injury, although that's not confirmed.

Chris Butler will be a healthy scratch against Montreal on Tuesday night.

Butler has yet to crack the Blues' lineup this season through six games, but only made it in to 33 last season. Suggesting he isn't one to concern yourself with, even for tough guy stats.

Chris Butler has been called up by the St. Louis Blues.

Butler, 28, has 17 goals and 84 points in 382 career NHL games. We don't anticipate him doing enough offensively to make him worth owning in standard leagues.

Chris Butler has been placed on waivers by the St. Louis Blues.

Butler is a veteran of 382 NHL games, but he spent part of the 2014-15 campaign in the minors. When he was with the Blues in 2014-15, he had three goals and nine points in 33 contests.

The Blues re-signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Chris Butler to a contract.

Terms were not disclosed. Butler was a frequent scratch in 2014-15 and will likely find himself in the pressbox quite often again this season. With nine points in 33 games Butler is not a fantasy asset.

Defensemen Chris Butler and Robert Bortuzzo will watch from the press box yet again for Game 3 Monday night.

There was a slight chance head coach Ken Hitchcock was going to insert Bortuzzo for Barrett Jackman for Game 3, but he will ride the same lineup that led to a convincing Game 2 victory, which means both Bortuzzo and Butler will be scratched. Bortuzzo has just eight playoff games under his belt while Butler has appeared in only seven playoff games over his career.

Chris Butler and Olli Jokinen are healthy scratches in Thursday's game against Chicago.

More importantly, Alex Steen (lower body) and Vladimir Tarasenko (lower body) will both be out of the lineup. It's entirely possible that these two teams face each other in the first round of the playoffs.

Chris Butler and Chris Porter will be scratched against the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday night.

Unfortunately, neither player has any fantasy value. Butler, who played just three times in March, has eight points and 23 PIMs to his credit over 32 sporadic games this season. While Porter hasn't fared any better with a pair of points and 55 hits over 22 games.

Updating a previous item, Chris Butler will play in Saturday's game against Toronto.

The Blues were going to make Butler a healthy scratch but Jay Bouwmeester (flu) is unable to play in the game. Butler doesn't have any fantasy value.

Chris Butler will tag in for Ian Cole on Thursday night against the Winnipeg Jets.

Barret Jackman will join Butler to create St. Louis' third defensive unit. Jackman actually has the better fantasy value with 43 PIMs 70 hits, and 92 blocks through 60 games this season.
