Nov 10 - 12:43 PM

The St. Louis Blues have sent Chris Butler to AHL Chicago.

The 29-year-old has seen just 387 games of action since being drafted in 2005. He's a classic quad-A player, so we wouldn't look to him for any fantasy production.
Oct 3 - 3:00 PM

Chris Butler has been cut from the St. Louis Blues' training camp roster.

Butler is on waivers and should he clear we anticipate him being sent to the minors. He had no points and four penalty minutes in five games with St. Louis last season.

Apr 21 - 1:29 PM

Chris Butler has been reassigned to the minors.

The Blues are getting healthier on the back end with Jay Bouwmeester returning on Monday and Carl Gunnarsson getting closer, so Butler's presence on emergency recall isn't needed anymore. He appeared in three games during his call up and has skated in five matches with St. Louis this season.

Chris Butler has been sent to the minors.

Butler has no points in two games this season. His demotion could be a signal that Kevin Shattenkirk is ready to return from his groin injury, although that's not confirmed.

Chris Butler will be a healthy scratch against Montreal on Tuesday night.

Butler has yet to crack the Blues' lineup this season through six games, but only made it in to 33 last season. Suggesting he isn't one to concern yourself with, even for tough guy stats.

Chris Butler has been called up by the St. Louis Blues.

Butler, 28, has 17 goals and 84 points in 382 career NHL games. We don't anticipate him doing enough offensively to make him worth owning in standard leagues.

Chris Butler has been placed on waivers by the St. Louis Blues.

Butler is a veteran of 382 NHL games, but he spent part of the 2014-15 campaign in the minors. When he was with the Blues in 2014-15, he had three goals and nine points in 33 contests.

The Blues re-signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Chris Butler to a contract.

Terms were not disclosed. Butler was a frequent scratch in 2014-15 and will likely find himself in the pressbox quite often again this season. With nine points in 33 games Butler is not a fantasy asset.

Defensemen Chris Butler and Robert Bortuzzo will watch from the press box yet again for Game 3 Monday night.

There was a slight chance head coach Ken Hitchcock was going to insert Bortuzzo for Barrett Jackman for Game 3, but he will ride the same lineup that led to a convincing Game 2 victory, which means both Bortuzzo and Butler will be scratched. Bortuzzo has just eight playoff games under his belt while Butler has appeared in only seven playoff games over his career.

Chris Butler and Olli Jokinen are healthy scratches in Thursday's game against Chicago.

More importantly, Alex Steen (lower body) and Vladimir Tarasenko (lower body) will both be out of the lineup. It's entirely possible that these two teams face each other in the first round of the playoffs.
