Date:

Lauri Korpikoski will remain a healthy scratch on Wednesday as Columbus hosts Toronto.

Mark it four games in a row now that the veteran acquisition will sit out. Until he can get into the lineup consistently, his already marginal fantasy value takes a significant hit.

Coach John Tortorella elected to keep both Lauri Korpikoski and Markus Nutivaara out of the lineup for Sunday's match with the Devils.

Both have become frequent healthy scratches of late. Korpikoski has nary made an impact with Columbus in seven games, seeing his average ice time slashed by five minutes. Nutivaara has seven points in 52 games as a rookie.

Lauri Korpikoski will be scratched against the Panthers on Thursday.

The veteran winger has not posted any points in seven games of action with Columbus. His average ice time has dropped to just over eight minutes from just over 13 minutes per game with Dallas.
Mar 16 - 6:13 PM

Lauri Korpikoski is projected to play alongside William Karlsson and Josh Anderson on Thursday.

That's based on the combinations from Thursday's morning skate. This will be Korpikoski's first game with the Blue Jackets after being acquired from Dallas on Wednesday.
Mar 2 - 10:39 AM

Lauri Korpikoski is projected to make his Blue Jackets debut on Thursday.

Columbus acquired Korpikoski at the trade deadline in exchange for Dallas Heatherington. Korpikoski had six goals and 20 points in 60 contests with the Stars in 2016-17. How he fits into the lineup should be revealed in Thursday's morning skate, but he will likely slot into the third or fourth line.
Mar 2 - 8:04 AM

Columbus acquired Lauri Korpikoski from Dallas in exchange for Dallas Heatherington just ahead of Wednesday's trade deadline.

Through 60 games this season with Dallas the veteran forward has posted eight goals and 20 points along with 32 blocks and 34 hits. He's a classic bottom-six forward who helps out on the penalty kill, so his fantasy value is limited.
Mar 1 - 3:35 PM

Lauri Korpikoski and Jiri Hudler will be scratched against the Wild on Thursday.

As a depth forward, Korpikoski has been excellent for the Stars thus far. Through 56 games he has posted seven goals and 19 points along with 28 blocks and 31 hits. Hudler meanwhile has seven points in 24 games to his credit.

Lauri Korpikoski doesn't have any fantasy value, but coach Lindy Ruff appreciates having him on the roster.

"Here's a guy that nine times out of 10 will go out and play the game the right way, get in the right place," Ruff said. "He's a bigger body (6-1, 193) that can kill penalties. We can use him in tougher defensive situations, where if somebody's been struggling, you can put him on the ice. He's an all-around player." He contributed his 10th point in 34 games Friday against Los Angeles, with an assist. Korpikoski hasn't scored a goal since he scored three in a row from Nov. 10 to Nov. 13.

Lauri Korpikoski and Patri Nemeth will be scratched against Chicago on Sunday.

The veteran winger has four goals and nine points in 29 games thus far. Unfortunately that's not quite enough to justify a spot on your roster.

Lauri Korpikoski scored his fourth goal of the season during Sunday's 5-4 overtime loss to Vancouver.

He now has goals in three consecutive games, giving him six points overall in 16 games. That's a nice rate considering he's posted between 21-25 points in each of the last three seasons with the Oilers and Coyotes.

Lauri Korpikoski has inked a one-year, $1 million contract with the Dallas Stars.

Korpikoski took part in the Calgary Flames' training camp on a tryout basis. Dallas is entering the 2016-17 campaign with some injury woes, so this move will provide their bottom-six with a much needed boost in light of that. Korpikoski had 10 goals and 22 points in 71 games with Edmonton in 2015-16.

Calgary Flames coach Glen Gulutzan said that Lauri Korpikoski will "surface right away", suggesting he's nearing an agreement with another team.

Should that be the case, the new team will be signing a reliable veteran winger. Korpikoski has posted at least 21 points the last three seasons with at least 100 hits per campaign as well.

The Calgary Flames have released Lauri Korpikoski from his PTO.

The eight-year veteran is only just 30-years-old, so it's not as though Korpikoski is an old man by any means. However he's also a grinding winger who only posits about 20 points a season and given the way rosters are being constructed these days, it's not terribly surprising to see him get axed.

Lauri Korpikoski has done well so far in the Calgary Flames' training camp.

Korpikoski is competing for a spot after agreeing to a professional tryout offer. He's already been used in three preseason games and seems to have helped his cause. "The last game that Korpi played, I thought, was his best game," Flames coach Glen Gulutzan said in reference to Sunday's contest. "The tenaciousness, the forecheck, and the speed. That’s what comes out of him. Today’s NHL game has gotten real fast. Korpi is still a guy that can play at that level. He’s strong on the puck, has a veteran presence, doesn’t make many mistakes, and still has that speed to play a pace game." Korpikoski is one of the 31 remaining players on the Flames' roster.
