The Oilers recalled Rodney on an emergency basis but when Jeff Petry returned to the lineup, Rodney was returned to the Oklahoma Barons of the AHL.

Rodney signed a one-year/two way contract with the Ducks in July after spending his career in the Carolina organization where the defenseman played 33 NHL games. If he passes through waivers, he will head to Syracuse to play with the Crunch and earned $250,000.

Rodney will earn $250,000 if he spends the 2011-12 season in the AHL and $525,000 if he plays in the NHL. He's projected to start the season in the minors and serve as an injury replacement for the Ducks if they need one.

Bryan Rodney has been returned to AHL Charlotte.

Rodney was called up on Wednesday to play in Carolina's game against Ottawa. He ended up getting 9:16 minutes of playing time and recording two shots on goal. GM Jim Rutherford said Rodney might be called back up to participate in Saturday's game against the Devils.
