The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Jhonas Enroth to a one-year, $750,000 contract.

It was reported in July that Enroth would sign with the Maple Leafs, but we hadn't heard anything since. On Monday, the Leafs made the signing official. The Leafs had a clear need for an experienced backup goalie behind starter Frederik Andersen. The 28-year-old had a 7-5-1 record with a 2.17 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage with Los Angeles in 2015-16.

There hasn't been any news on Jhonas Enroth since it was reported just over a week ago that he was going to sign with Toronto.

His agent declined to comment on the reports and it's been quiet since then. Negotiations with the Leafs could pick up again, though. Toronto wants to add a backup, but they may have moved on to other options.
Aug 2 - 11:10 AM

Jhonas Enroth will reportedly sign with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Take this report with a grain of salt, but even without this story, it wouldn't be shocking if the Leafs ink Enroth. Toronto is in the market for a backup and Enroth would fill that role nicely. He had a 2.17 GAA and .922 save percentage in 16 games with Los Angeles last season.
Jul 24 - 10:13 PM

Jhonas Enroth is open to re-signing with the Kings, but would hope for a larger role if he does come back.

Enroth played in just 16 games despite posting a 2.17 GAA and .922 save percentage in 2015-16. "I really thought they were going to play me more," Enroth said. "If you sign a guy for $1.2 million, you’re not going to play him 13 games, in my opinion. You should play him 20 or 25. I thought I earned more games, obviously. I played pretty solid in the games I got, but I got a lot of breaks in between games too, so it’s tough to get a groove going." He's now an unrestricted free agent and the odds are in favor of him signing elsewhere with a team that has a less firmly entrenched number one goaltender.
Apr 25 - 6:34 AM

Jhonas Enroth allowed four goals but still got the win in the Kings' 5-4 OT win over Calgary on Tuesday.

He made 19 saves on 23 shots in helping the Kings avoid a three game losing streak. The 27-year-old has won his last three starts in relief of starter Jonathan Quick. He has nice numbers this season, sporting a 7-5-1 record to go with a 2.17 GAA and .922 save percentage.
Apr 6 - 1:34 AM

Jhonas Enroth will face Calgary on Tuesday night.

Enroth has been everything and more for LA this season, posting an incredible .943 even strength save percentage through 15 games and 12 starts thus far. Tack on that just 27 pucks have beaten him, just 11 of which have come from Western foes, and you have yourself a nice stealthy start option.
Apr 5 - 9:29 PM

Jhonas Enroth allowed two goals on 26 shots in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Dallas Stars.

Enroth got the better of his former team. He spent a portion of the 2014-15 season with the Dallas Stars after being acquired from the Buffalo Sabres. The 27-year-old improves his record to 6-5-1 in 2015-16. He's nothing more than an above-average backup goaltender.
Mar 15 - 11:28 PM

Jhonas Enroth will likely face Dallas on Tuesday night.

Enroth has seen just 11 starts and 13 games this season, but has filled in admirably for Jonathan Quick when called upon. He's 5-5-1 with an astounding .945 even strength save percentage and just 24 goals against. Which easily makes his a potentially stealthy play tonight.
Mar 15 - 7:54 PM

Jhonas Enroth kicked aside 23 shots in the Kings’ 2-0 win against the Sabres on Saturday night.

Enroth notched his second shutout in 11 games started this season. He last played Feb. 14 against the Devils. With a 2.01 GAA and .931 SV%, he’s performed quite well. Of course, he will only get a handful of chances the rest of the way.
Feb 28 - 1:52 AM

Jhonas Enroth will face Buffalo on Saturday night.

Despite Enroth's less than stellar 4-5-1 record on the season, only 24 pucks have beaten him in 12 games and he owns a .941 save percentage at even strength. Not too shabby for the infrequently used backup as he faces Buffalo who played last night.
Feb 27 - 6:20 PM

Jhonas Enroth was the tough luck loser in Sunday's 1-0 shutout to the Devils.

Enroth made 17 of 18 saves, but a power play goal by David Schlemko beat the back up netminder. Though it wasn't entirely his fault as Luke Schenn helped screen and redirect the puck in to the net. The loss brings Enroth's record to 4-5-1 on the year with just 24 goals against.
Feb 14 - 3:36 PM

Jhonas Enroth will face New Jersey on Sunday afternoon.

Enroth will get the Valentine's Day matinee nod, and he's had a nice season in 11 games for the Kings. At 4-4-1 with a .925 save percentage overall, and a .938% at even strength with just just 23 goals against, it's hard to ask for much more from the backup netminder.
Feb 14 - 12:07 PM

Jhonas Enroth allowed four goals on 29 shots in a 5-2 loss to the Islanders on Thursday night.

Enroth falls to 4-4-1 this season with a 2.30 goals against average and .925 save percentage. He is still enjoying a statistically sound season so far.
Feb 11 - 10:21 PM

Jhonas Enroth will get the start in Thursday's game against the New York Islanders.

This will be just his 11th appearance of the season. The 27-year-old has a 4-3-1 record with a 2.11 goals-against-average and a .931 save percentage this season.
