The Anaheim Ducks have acquired Jhonas Enroth from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a 2018 seventh-round draft pick.
Enroth started the campaign as Toronto's backup goaltender, but he has been bouncing between the NHL and AHL more recently. Toronto then claimed Curtis McElhinney off waivers on Tuesday, which cemented the fact that the backup job was no longer available to Enroth. He won't be the Ducks' backup either. Instead he'll work with the AHL's San Diego Gulls, providing Anaheim with some added organizational depth. Jan 11 - 4:16 AM

Jhonas Enroth has been assigned to the AHL.

The move isn't surprising after the Leafs picked up Curtis McElhinney from waivers on Tuesday. Enroth hasn't appeared in the NHL since Nov. 30.

The Maple Leafs recalled Jhonas Enroth from AHL Toronto on Sunday.

The veteran netminder is 2-1 with nine goals against down with the Marlies. But he's just 0-3-1 with 18 goals against with the Maple Leafs. Tough kind of season.
Jan 8 - 1:27 PM

Jhonas Enroth has been loaned to the Toronto Marlies.

The Leafs already brought up Antoine Bibeau from the minors on Tuesday to serve as Frederik Andersen's backup. Enroth was sent down so that Tyler Bozak could be activated from injured reserve.

Jhonas Enroth has been summoned back up to the Maple Leafs.

Through six games and four starts with the Maple Leafs thus far, the veteran netminder is still searching for his first win of the campaign. He's 0-3-1 with 18 goals against and a paltry .872 save percentage.

Jhonas Enroth is back in the minors.

He was sent down after Monday night's game versus Anaheim and Antoine Bibeau was brought up from the Marlies.

Jhonas Enroth has returned to backup Frederik Andersen, and he'll be on the bench for Saturday's game against the Penguins.

We still wouldn't expect the veteran netminder to see too much action, however. The Leafs are rolling, Andersen has returned to form, and Toronto has no intention of repeating last season's struggles.

Jhonas Enroth has been recalled by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Enroth was demoted about a week and a half ago because of his struggles as the Maple Leafs' backup. When that originally happened, it was believed that Karri Ramo would eventually sign with Toronto to become the team's new number two netminder. That might still happened, but Ramo's struggles in the AHL has made that less certain and potentially presented Enroth with another opportunity to reassert himself.

Jhonas Enroth has been demoted to the minors.

He cleared waivers on Tuesday and has been set to the AHL's Toronto Marlies.
Tue, Dec 6, 2016 01:02:00 PM

Jhonas Enroth has been placed on waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Enroth was brought in by Toronto to serve as the team's backup goaltender, but he's been used sparingly and hasn't been effective on the rare occasions that he has played. He has a 3.94 GAA and .872 save percentage in six games this season with only four of those being starts. Though Karri Ramo remains unsigned, he has practiced with the Maple Leafs and this Enroth decision is likely a signal that Ramo will become Toronto's new backup goaltender.

Jhonas Enroth gave up three goals on 29 shots in a 3-0 loss to the Calgary Flames on Wednesday.

The Flames came firing out of the gate, putting two pucks behind Enroth in less than 50 seconds to start the game and then another with less than five minutes remaining in the opening frame. Enroth then settled down, allowing nary a goal in the final two periods. He has only started in goal on the second half of back-to-back games for the Leafs, winning none of his starts. His record drops to 0-3-1, with a 3.94 goals against average and a .872 save percentage.

Jhonas Enroth will be in goal of the Maple Leafs on Wednesday night.

He will face the Calgary Flames after Frederik Andersen backstopped Toronto to a 4-2 win over Edmonton on Tuesday night. Enroth is still looking for his first win this season. In five appearances, he has a 0-2-1 record with a 4.21 GAA and an .866 save percentage.
Wed, Nov 30, 2016 06:52:00 PM

Jhonas Enroth allowed four goals on 30 shots in Wednesday's 5-4 shootout loss to the New Jersey Devils.

The Leafs spotted Enroth a 3-0 lead in the first period, but the Devils managed to score four goals on the Leafs backup in the final two frames. Enroth's record falls to 0-2-1 on the season. He'll enter his next game with a 4.20 goals-against-average and a .866 save percentage.

Jhonas Enroth has been confirmed as Toronto's starting goalie Wednesday night against New Jersey.

Frederik Andersen has played 10 straight games, including Tuesday, so he will get the night off. Adjust your lineup accordingly.
Wed, Nov 23, 2016 05:13:00 PM

Jhonas Enroth will likely start for the Maple Leafs on Wednesday night.

He was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate. Frederik Andersen played Tuesday in a 2-1 loss to Carolina and he has started 10 consecutive contests. Enroth hasn't seen game action since a relief appearance versus Los Angeles back on Nov. 8.
