Jhonas Enroth turned away all seven of the shots Anaheim sent his way on Friday night, though he only played in the third period.
Still, a shut out period is a shut out period. Enroth won't see as many starts as he's become accustomed to as the starter in Buffalo, but then again, he knew that going in. Jonathan Quick doesn't leave many starts for his backups when healthy, only about 10-13, so Enroth's fantasy value may have taken yet another step back. Sep 26 - 1:30 AM

Los Angeles has signed Jhonas Enroth to a one-year, $1.25 million deal.

He posted an 18-26-2 record with a .904 save percentage and a 3.07 goals-against average in 50 games with Buffalo and Dallas last season. Enroth will back up Jonathan Quick in 2015-16.
Jul 1 - 1:40 PM

Dallas Stars GM Jim Nill said his team will "explore the market" when looking for a backup goaltender next season.

That means that the Stars will let Jhonas Enroth hit the free-agent market on July 1st. Dallas acquired Enroth from Buffalo during the regular season. The 26-year-old had an 18-26-2 record with a 3.07 goals-against-average and a .904 save percentage with the Sabres and Stars in 2014-15. "I’ve talked to Enroth and told him we are going to look at the market," Nill said. "He wanted to look at the market. We are going to keep in touch." A deal isn't out of the question, but it's becoming increasingly unlikely that the two sides will come to an agreement.

If anyone has the inside track to be the Dallas Stars back-up goalie next season, it's Jhonas Enroth.

While GM Jim Nill admits that "we still have to decide what we are doing" as far as who will be Kari Lehtonen's back-up, Nill also conceded that Enroth "is in the mix." Enroth is entering his age-27 season and is coming off a two-year, $2.5M contract he originally signed with Buffalo. So it's unlikely that Enroth will be out of Dallas' range should they re-up the experienced netminder. For those who were wondering if prospect Jack Campbell might get the gig, well, Campbell has something to prove to Nill first, "he’s going to be the No. 1 goaltender in [AHL] Texas. He needs to grab that," Nill said. The Stars have $14.35M in cap space with only a handful of slots to fill this offseason.
Jun 11 - 10:59 PM

Jhonas Enroth told Swedish website Hockey Sverige that a return to Dallas is unlikely.

"There are other teams where there is greater opportunity to play more games," Enroth said in the interview. He posted five wins with a .906 save percentage and a 2.38 goals-against average in 13 appearances with the Stars. It sounds like he'll be testing the waters as an unrestricted free agent in July.
May 7 - 2:28 PM

Jhonas Enroth made 24 saves in the Stars’ 4-1 win against the Predators.

Enroth gave up a goal in the first period and that was it. He had four consecutive wins with Dallas to finish the season, posting a save percentage of at least .917 in all of them. On the year, he had a 3.07 goals-against average and .904 save percentage.
Apr 11 - 11:12 PM

Jhonas Enroth appears to be the starting goalie Saturday night against Nashville.

He was the first goalie off the ice in Saturday morning's scrimmage. Enroth is coming off a very fine 19-save shutout over the Ducks and could be a play tonight given the Preds could sit a bunch of key players to rest up for the playoffs.
Apr 11 - 11:51 AM

Jhonas Enroth had to make just 19 saves in the Stars' 4-0 win over Anaheim on Tuesday.

It was Enroth's second shutout of the season and his first for the Dallas Stars. Making this third straight start, Enroth earned his third straight win. It's hard to see him evacuating the net now even this late in the season with nothing but pride to play for. Enroth enters the final two games of the year with a 17-26-2 record and a 3.11 GAA to go with a .903 save percentage.
Apr 9 - 2:18 AM

Jhonas Enroth will start in goal for the Stars Wednesday night in Anaheim.

Enroth will start for the third consecutive game Wednesday night, having won both of his previous two games. He enters Wednesday carrying a 16-26-2 record with a 3.18 goals-against-average and .901 save percentage. In three career appearances against the Ducks, Enroth has a 0-2-0 record and .391 GAA and .857 save percentage.
Apr 8 - 7:49 PM

Jhonas Enroth earned the win Monday night when the Stars defeated the Sharks 5-1.

In a battle of backup goaltenders, Enroth led the Stars to a victory stopping 23 of 24 shots on goal. His record now stands at 16-26-2 on the season to go with a 3.18 goals-against-average and .901 save percentage. With the season nearing the finish line; Monday may have been Enroth’s last start of the 2014-2015 season. At least he can presumably end it on a high note.
Apr 7 - 1:22 AM

Jhonas Enroth is expected to start for Dallas on Monday against San Jose.

In his last outing on Apr. 4, Enroth allowed three goals on 36 shots in a 4-3 overtime win over Nashville. He has a 2-5-0 record with an .884 save percentage and a 3.07 GAA since joining the Stars.
Apr 6 - 3:44 PM

Jhonas Enroth made 33 saves in the Stars’ 4-3 overtime victory against the Predators on Saturday night.

It looked like the Stars had this game about wrapped up when they had a 3-1 lead 7:28 into the third period. However, Nashville ended up tying the game at 18:05 of the third. Enroth has a 3.23 goals-against average and .900 save percentage this season.
Apr 4 - 11:30 PM

Jhonas Enroth will get the start against the Predators Saturday night.

Kari Lehtonen had a forgettable start against the Blues Friday night in a 7-5 loss, so Enroth will get the second game of Dallas' back-to-back contests. We don't expect he will do so well behind a tired Stars' squad against a rested and very strong Nashville team.
Apr 4 - 1:37 PM

Jhonas Enroth replaced starter Kari Lehtonen after he was pulled just 37 minutes into Monday's 5-3 loss to Calgary.

Enroth stopped all five shots thrown his way, but it wasn't enough to help Dallas rebound. Enroth received no decision in the game. He's 14-26-2 with a .900 save percentage and a 3.25 GAA through 45 games with the Stars and Sabres.
Mar 31 - 1:56 AM

Jhonas Enroth would be open to returning to Buffalo in the off-season when he's eligible to become an unrestricted free agent.

"I loved playing in Buffalo. I loved being a Sabre," Enroth said. "When I got traded, there was a lot of new stuff around me. It was a little bit tough but that's how it is. I'm still trying to deal with it." He's focused on playing for Dallas now, but when asked about coming back he immediately said "definitely." Enroth has a 1-5-0 record with an .873 save percentage and a 3.35 GAA in seven appearances with the Stars since he was traded.
