Jhonas Enroth replaced starter Michal Neuvirth (lower body) after the first period of Tuesday's game against the Sharks and earned a 4-1 win by stopping 19 of 20 shots.
The win is the second in a row for the Sabres, who defeated Toronto by a score of 6-2 on Saturday, but is the first for Enroth since October 14th and just his second of the year. His record improves to 2-8-1 with the victory while his GAA is 3.63 and his save percentage is an even .900. Despite the win, we're far from the point where Enroth can be trusted in starting fantasy lineups. Nov 19 - 12:14 AM

Jhonas Enroth allowed five goals on 38 shots in another defeat for the Buffalo Sabres, 6-3 on Thursday night against Minnesota.

Enroth is quite simply doomed playing goal for a team as inept as the Sabres. Only twice has he allowed less than three goals this season, while his record has dropped to a dismal 1-8-1. He has an .897 goals against average and 3.77 goals against average, but Ryan Miller's stats would probably be in that ballpark if he were still guarding the net for this team.
Nov 13 - 11:51 PM

Jhonas Enroth gave up six goals on 39 shots in Buffalo’s 6-1 loss to the Penguins on Saturday night.

You have to feel bad for the Sabres goaltenders this season, as things could even get worse as the season transpires. Suffice to say, this is a situation to stay far, far away from in fantasy leagues. Enroth has a 3.63 goals-against average and .901 save percentage this year.
Nov 8 - 9:38 PM

Look for Jhonas Enroth to get the start Saturday night against the Penguins.

Michal Neuvirth got the call instead of Enroth against the Oilers Friday night and was brilliant kicking out 49 of 52 shots in a 3-2 loss. Despite Neuvirth's heroics, Enroth will likely be between the pipes Saturday evening. Given the sate of the Sabres right now and the fact Buffalo will be facing the powerhouse Penguins we see no reason to activate Enroth in your hockey pools this weekend.
Nov 8 - 9:21 AM

Jhonas Enroth will be between the pipes for Buffalo on Friday against Edmonton.

The Sabres play again on Saturday versus Pittsburgh and Michal Neuvirth will probably be in goal for that contest. However, that hasn't been confirmed yet. Enroth owns a 1-6-1 record to go with a .908 save percentage and a 3.34 goals-against average.
Nov 7 - 7:06 AM

Jhonas Enroth yielded five goals on 34 shots in the Sabres’ 5-0 loss to the Penguins on Saturday night.

As if you needed a reminder, the Sabres’ goaltending situation is best left avoided in fantasy leagues. There is zero upside in this group right now, mostly because the team is barely averaging more than a goal per game and struggles to play away from the defensive zone. Enroth has a 3.34 goals-against average and .908 save percentage this season.
Nov 1 - 10:11 PM

Look for Jhonas Enroth to get the start against the Penguins Saturday night.

Enroth played well in a 3-2 OT loss to the Bruins Thursday but he is sure to be in tough Saturday night against Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and the rest of a talented Pens' squad. Only activate Enroth if you are desperate for goalie starts.
Nov 1 - 9:25 AM

Jhonas Enroth put forth a valiant 34 save effort on Thursday night, but it was not enough for the Sabres as they fell 3-2 to the Bruins in overtime.

Enroth played very well and earned the Sabres a point against a division rival, but his offense provided little support in managing just 15 shots in the game. Enroth falls to 1-5-1 this year with a .915 save percentage and 3.11 goals against average.
Oct 30 - 10:35 PM

Jhonas Enroth will start Thursday night's game versus Boston.

He watched the last two games from the bench, as Michal Neuvirth got two straight starts. Neither goaltender is worth targeting in fantasy leagues.
Oct 30 - 10:28 AM

Look for Jhonas Enroth to start in goal against the Sharks Saturday afternoon.

You can hardly blame Enroth for the debacle in Buffalo. He stopped 37 of 39 shots in the Sabres' 2-0 loss to Los Angeles Thursday night and although he has a 1-5-0 record so far this season, he has played reasonably well. That said, there is no need to start Enroth as he plays for such a woeful team.
Oct 25 - 9:28 AM

Jhonas Enroth stopped 37 of 39 shots in Buffalo’s 2-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night.

Jeff Carter beat Enroth less than a minute into the game with a power play goal, but the Swedish goaltender was solid after that. Both Kings’ goals were scored on the power play so it’s tough to blame Enroth for those. On paper, this game looked like it could be a blowout, but the Sabres hung around with the Kings more than many expected. The 26-year-old falls to 1-5-0 on the season. He should continue to get starts in goal for Buffalo, but he won’t be a very good source for wins during Buffalo’s rebuilding process.
Oct 24 - 1:31 AM

Jhonas Enroth made 32 saves as the Sabres fell to the Bruins on Saturday night 4-0.

It’s going to be a long season in Buffalo. Even on a night in which they played up to par with the Bruins, the Sabres could not finish and their young goaltender let them down. Enroth has a 3.34 goals-against average and .907 save percentage this season. He’s given up at least three goals in four of his five starts this season.
Oct 18 - 9:55 PM

Updating an earlier item, it will be Jhonas Enroth in goal against the Bruins Saturday and not Michal Neuvirth.

Coach Ted Nolan is going back to Enroth after his brilliant performance Friday night against Florida. Adjust your goaltending rotation accordingly.

Oct 18 - 1:56 PM

Jhonas Enroth turned aside 34 of 35 shots he faced in Friday's game against Florida, but still took the loss.

The Sabres couldn't muster any offense on Friday and continue to give their goaltenders little goal-support. With the loss, Enroth falls to 1-3-0. The 26-year-old should see the bulk of the starts in goal for Buffalo, but he won't be worth starting in standard fantasy leagues, because his team isn't going to collect many wins this season.
Oct 17 - 9:56 PM

Jhonas Enroth rewarded fantasy owners Tuesday by delivering a 4-3 shootout win over Carolina.

Enroth blocked 22 of 25 Carolina shots through regulation and overtime and survived eight rounds in the shootout to earn his first victory of the season. His record now stands at 1-2-0 while his GAA is 3.89 and his save percentage is .893.
