Jhonas Enroth made 39 saves in regulation and overtime in Team Sweden's 3-2 shootout win over Canada at the World Hockey Championships on Thursday.
The victory sent Sweden into the semifinal round and it sent Canada home. "Jhonas is one of the most competitive players I've ever seen," Sweden defenseman Erik Gustafsson said. "He showed that in the shootout. Nerves of steel." The Swedes will meet their co-hosts from Finland in one match-up, while the United States will play Switzerland in the other. May 17 - 8:25 AM

Jhonas Enroth gave up two goals in Buffalo's 2-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Monday night.

Before this contest, Enroth had allowed just one goal in his last two starts and tonight was another encouraging performance. However, neither Enroth nor Ryan Miller has been anything to write home about this season.
Apr 22 - 9:43 PM

Jhonas Enroth will play between the pipes on Monday.

Enroth relieved Ryan Miller early in the second period of Friday's game and proceeded to allow four goals on 15 shots. At the same time, Enroth has allowed just one goal in his last two starts.
Apr 22 - 12:28 PM

Jhonas Enroth blocked 32 of 33 shots Sunday as the Sabres defeated Tampa Bay by a score of 3-1.

The two teams might simply be playing out the string at this point, but Enroth is showcasing his skills in search of future employment. The Buffalo backup has started two straight games and won them both this weekend.
Apr 14 - 7:45 PM

Jhonas Enroth turned aside all 29 shots he faced in a 1-0 victory against Philadelphia Saturday.

The goose egg was his first of the season and his third win in nine appearances.
Apr 13 - 6:05 PM

Jhonas Enroth will start for Buffalo Saturday afternoon against Philadelphia.

Adjust your lineup accordingly. Buffalo interim coach Ron Rolson wouldn't divulge his starter leading into the contest. Ryan Miller will likely play Sunday versus Tampa Bay.
Apr 13 - 2:52 PM

Jhonas Enroth is expected to start one of the Buffalo Sabres' two games this weekend.

The Sabres host the Flyers on Saturday and the Lightning on Sunday, so it makes sense coach Ron Rolston would split up his goalies. Neither Enroth nor Ryan Miller has been anything to write home about this season and it's likely the Sabres' front office will have to do some serious retooling this offseason.
Apr 12 - 9:12 AM

Jhonas Enroth gave up three goals in Buffalo's 4-3 shootout loss to the Capitals on Saturday night.

This game provided yet another reason for the Sabres to wipe the slate clean, which their general manager said he'd be willing to do at the trade deadline. Buffalo had a 3-1 lead at the end of the second period, then saw it all disappear in the third as Enroth gave up two goals on nine shots. All told, he made 35 saves, so this loss wasn't all his fault.
Mar 30 - 10:09 PM

Updating an earlier report, it appears that Jhonas Enroth will start in goal against the Capitals Saturday night, not Ryan Miller.

Adjust your goaltending rotation accordingly.
Mar 30 - 1:29 PM

Jhonas Enroth turned in a superb performance Tuesday night to give Buffalo a 3-2 overtime victory versus Montreal.

He defended 32 of 34 shots to get his second straight win in games that took place a week apart. Enroth doesn't get much playing time behind number one goalie Ryan Miller, but he's making a strong case for himself to get more starts now with some vastly improved play.
Mar 19 - 11:26 PM

Jhonas Enroth was the first goalie off the ice Tuesday.

That is usually the signal as to who is starting that night so get Enroth in your lineup if you normally would. He is 1-2-0 with a 3.25 GAA and a .896 save percentage heading into tonight's game against Montreal.
Mar 19 - 11:51 AM

Jhonas Enroth got his first win Tuesday night since Nov. 26, 2011 when he defeated Washington.

He stopped 32 of 33 shots in a 3-1 win over the New York Rangers. "I've been trying to look forward and live in the moment and don't think about the past because you can't do anything about that," said Enroth, who entered the contest sporting a 0-10-3 record in his previous 16 outings. "I've just been focused on next game and try to stay positive. It feels good right now to finally get that win." He got the nod because Ryan Miller was suffering from a sinus infection.
Mar 13 - 6:03 AM

Jhonas Enroth stopped 32 shots in a 3-1 win over the New York Rangers Tuesday night.

Enroth got the nod with Ryan Miller suffering from a sinus infection and he picked up his first win of the season. He was especially impressive in the third period when he turned aside all 18 shots he faced.
Mar 12 - 9:47 PM

Jhonas Enroth is expected to get the start in goal Tuesday with Ryan Miller sidelined by a sinus infection.

Miller had been expected to start but the infection news came after the team's morning skate. Enroth hasn't played since leaving a March 7 game against the Rangers with cramping. He had been playing very well before leaving, although the Rangers look much better than they have in recent nights. Sabres goalies in general aren't to be trusted and we're betting you can do better.
Mar 12 - 11:15 AM

Jhonas Enroth had to leave Thursday's game late in the third because of cramping.

Enroth left after allowing the game-tying goal in the third period with just 1:06 left. "I was cramping pretty much the whole third period there," said Enroth, who is 0-10-2 in his last 12 decisions. "I’ve got to take a little more care of my body when I’m playing. I haven’t been playing in a while, so I probably should have been drinking more water and Gatorade and stuff like that before the game." This doesn't look like a serious issue.
