Date:

Peter Regin (chest) has been ruled out for Ottawa's Monday afternoon game.

It will be the fourth straight contest Regin has missed due to the ailment. He's still a possibility for Tuesday's game.
Feb 18 - 12:20 PM

While some expect Peter Regin to return on Monday, it sounds like the Ottawa Senators will make that decision tomorrow.

Perhaps it will come during the morning skate or maybe even right before the game. The Sens are obviously hurting for offense, but they still need to be careful not to aggravate his upper-body injury. Daniel Alfredsson and Sergei Gonchar skipped recent practices but are expected to play.
Feb 17 - 2:55 PM

Peter Regin (upper body) should be back on Monday.

Regin will still miss his third straight game on Saturday. He has two assists and a minus-one rating in 12 games this season.
Feb 15 - 1:37 PM

Ottawa Senators place C Peter Regin on injured reserve.

Regin was hurt during Saturday's game against the Winnipeg Jets. He can be activated seven days after being placed on IR, which is likely retroactive to Sunday. He had almost no fantasy value except in the deepest of leagues before being hurt. Jim O'Brien will replace him in the lineup Tuesday night.
Feb 12 - 12:41 PM

Peter Regin left Saturday's game against Winnipeg with an upper-body injury.

He played just 3:48 of ice time prior to leaving the contest and not returning. He has two assists in 12 games this season. Regin's status is uncertain for Tuesday.
Feb 9 - 7:13 PM

Peter Regin is the only Senators forward on the active roster without a point.

Regin has four penalty minutes in nine games this season. He doesn't have much offensive upside and won't spend enough time in the sin bin to make it worth picking him up in anything but the deepest of fantasy leagues.
Feb 4 - 11:24 AM

Peter Regin feels ready to rebound from two left shoulder surgeries in the past two seasons.

"I'm past that, I have no pain, I have the same strength," Regin said. "I've been skating for five months. Playing in Switzerland gave me some confidence that I know I can play. Even though it's a different style of hockey on the big rinks, you still bump into each other. I knew I could handle that, from taking the bumps and hits over there." He played just 10 games last season. At training camp he has been skating on the third line with Zack Smith and Chris Neil.
Jan 16 - 12:53 PM

Peter Regin has been released from his Swiss National League B deal.

SC Langenthal announced that the two sides were parting ways because they are getting Jeff Campbell back from injury. Regin will return to Ottawa after posting five points in four games.

Peter Regin has signed a game-to-game deal to play for SC Langenthal in Swiss National League B.

He is projected to make his debut on Friday. Regin was originally hoping to play for his hometown team in Denmark, but taxation issues may have played a part in his inability to get a deal done there. He played in just 10 games last season because of a shoulder injury.

Peter Regin is hopeful that his taxation issues will be cleared up this week so that he can join the Herning Blue Fox to play in Denmark.

He played for his hometown team for three seasons before joining the Swedish Elite League in 2005-06. "The Swedish and Finnish League is better for sure and I would say the Danish League is like the East Coast League level," said Regin. "It's a different kind of hockey. There are lot of young guys with a lot of skill. There's no fighting, but it's competitive, with a lot of good players."

Peter Regin has agreed to a one-year, one-way contract Friday.

Regin would have been a restricted free agent. The financial terms haven't been disclosed, but he's probably not making much more than the $1,050,000 million he earned in 2011-12. He was limited to just four points in 10 games due to a shoulder injury.

Peter Regin is out for the rest of the regular season after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Regin is expected to take four-to-six months to recover, which means there's still an outside chance that he could return before the end of the playoffs, depending on how far the Senators go. He has four points in 10 games this season.

Peter Regin (shoulder) might be done for the season.

Regin is experiencing stiffness in his surgically repaired shoulder. He's weighing his options, but there's a real chance that he'll decide to have another surgery. For now he won't play on Friday and is out indefinitely.

Peter Regin aggravated his shoulder in Tuesday's game against Buffalo and will not play on Thursday when the Senators host Florida.

He has battled shoulder issues since last February and previously re-injured it on Oct. 20 that resulted in him missing 22 games. According to coach Paul MacLean, Regin is expected to consider his options, including surgery, and is out indefinitely.
