Tim Kennedy has been waived by the Phoenix Coyotes.

Kennedy has two goals and six assists in 35 games this season. Although he's served primarily as a bottom-six forward in the NHL, he's an effective scorer at the AHL level.

In his previous call-ups, Coyotes winger Tim Kennedy was needed in a depth role lower in the lineup but with winger Lauri Korpikoski sidelined with an upper-body injury, a spot in the top-six opened up and Kennedy has filled the void.

``I think I’ve been given more of a role this time to have an impact on the game whereas last time my role was different, so maybe my impact won’t be the same," Kennedy said. "I just want to come up and just play with the same confidence that I have down in the minors, and I don’t think I did that my first two times up here." Kennedy has tallied a point in three of the four games he’s been with the Coyotes during this recent stint. He scored Monday in Nashville and assisted on winger Radim Vrbata’s game-winner Wednesday in Minnesota en route to a 3-1 win.

Tim Kennedy has been summoned by the Phoenix Coyotes.

Kennedy had two goals in 13 games with San Jose last season. He's not projected to have any fantasy value in 2013-14, but it wouldn't surprise us if this was just the first of multiple NHL stints Kennedy enjoys this season.

Tim Kennedy has signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Phoenix Coyotes.

Kennedy had two goals in 13 games with the San Jose Sharks last season. He'll compete for a roster spot during training camp, but even if he doesn't get one, he should still get occasional stints with the Coyotes as an injury replacement.

Tim Kennedy might be a healthy scratch on Sunday.

Kennedy skated alongside Raffi Torres during Saturday's practice and Torres is ineligible to play due to a suspension. Adam Burish (hand) is likely to return on Sunday and it appears that will make Kennedy the odd man out.

Tim Kennedy is expected to return to the lineup in Tuesday's Game 4.

Kennedy sat out Game 3 as Martin Havlat returned to the lineup after an undisclosed injury. However, Havlat is out again Tuesday with a lower-body injury, which clears the way for Kennedy to return to the lineup.

Tim Kennedy won't participate in Game 3 on Saturday.

Kennedy probably lost his spot in the lineup because of Martin Havlat's (undisclosed) return. Kennedy had two penalty minutes and logged 6:51 minutes of ice time in Game 2.

Tim Kennedy skated on San Jose's fourth line at Friday's practice.

The Sharks will have to replace Adam Burish (upper body) when the second round of the playoffs begins and coach Todd McLellan hasn't made a decision yet who will play. "I wouldn't read a lot into anybody that practices there this week," McLellan said of the fourth line spot. "We'll keep that open. We have a number of different choices." Martin Havlat is questionable for Round 2 as well, so Kennedy could be called upon to fill in like he did in Game 2 against Vancouver in the quarterfinals.
