Oct 19 - 5:18 PM

The Buffalo Sabres have placed Zach Bogosian (lower body) on the injured reserve list.

The injury-prone defenseman has yet to play this season. He managed only 56 games last season and 64 and 62 the previous two campaigns. Put him on reserve if you have him on your roster.
Oct 15 - 10:46 AM

Zach Bogosian (lower body) is making progress towards a return.

"Zach is doing quite well. He skated again today," coach Phil Housley said. "He's making really good progress. He'll continue to go on the ice and work on his game and hopefully that will mean he's playing soon." Bogosian didn't practice Sunday and it sounds like he'll have to wait a little longer before he can make his season debut.
Oct 9 - 9:47 AM

Zach Bogosian (lower body) didn't practice Sunday.

Jake McCabe (shoulder), who is slated to be Bogosian's defense partner this season, didn't take part in Sunday's session either. It's uncertain at this time if they will be ready for Thursday's season opener, but coach Phil Housley is hopeful that they will be available. Bogosian will be re-evaluated on Monday.
Oct 2 - 10:12 AM

Zach Bogosian suffered an undisclosed injury during Friday's preseason game against the New York Islanders.

Bogosian was hurt early in the third period of Friday's game. There was no immediate update on Bogosian's status. We'll consider him day-to-day for now.
Sep 30 - 11:47 AM

Zach Bogosian is hoping to rediscover his offensive game under new Sabres coach Phil Housley.

Bogosian, who was a point-per-game defenseman in his last season in juniors at the age of 17, has never topped 30 points in an NHL campaign. Last year, Bogosian registered a mere 11 points, his worst total in the NHL. Housley, an All-Star rushing rearguard in his playing days, is hoping to get Buffalo's blueliners more involved in the offense this season. Bogosian could be the major benefactor under the Sabres' new system. Keep an eye on this situation going forward.
Sep 17 - 8:47 AM

Zach Bogosian logged a career-high 33:29 of ice time on Tuesday night.

He got some increased responsibility after Rasmus Ristolainen was ejected early into the match for a hit on Pittsburgh's Jake Guentzel. Buffalo has a banged up defense right now, with recent call-ups Brady Austin and Casey Nelson in the lineup, so that also contributed to Bogosian's playing time.
Mar 22 - 10:19 AM

Zach Bogosian will return from a rib injury on Tuesday night.

He has sat out five games due to the ailment, but made good progress on Monday and feels ready to play. Bogosian has five points and a minus-13 rating in 30 appearances this season.
Feb 14 - 12:39 PM

Zach Bogosian (ribs) could be ready to return as soon as Tuesday's game versus Ottawa.

"It's been feeling a lot better. I got some contact in at practice, so that was really the last test for me. The contact was what was kind of holding me back a little bit," he said Monday. "All that checked out today, so we'll just see how it goes and have a conversation with the trainers and coach and go from there." He has missed the past five games with a rib injury.
Feb 14 - 9:54 AM

Zach Bogosian will remain day-to-day with a rib injury as the Sabres takes on the Senators on Saturday.

Bogosian has posted just five points along with 21 PIMs, 39 hits, and 56 blocks while seeing an average of 20:25 of ice time per night.
Feb 4 - 1:03 PM

Zach Bogosian suffered a mid-body injury Thursday night during the first period.

He exited the game after logging just 5:33 of ice time against the New York Rangers. There wasn't an update on his status after the game, so consider him day-to-day for now.
Feb 3 - 8:19 AM

Zach Bogosian scored at the 1:48 mark of overtime to give the Sabres a 3-2 win over the Canadiens Saturday night.

This was Bogosian’s first goal of the season and only his fourth point. He was joined fellow defenseman Cody Franson for two of the three Sabre goals. While Bogosian’s score was unexpected, it came with an assist from Evander Kane and Ryan O’Reilly, each of whom had two during the night.
Jan 21 - 9:56 PM

Zach Bogosian will play in his 500th career NHL game on Friday night against Carolina.

If it feels like Bogosian has been around forever, it might be because he has been. The 26-year-old came into the league not too long ago as an 18-year-old for the then-Atlanta Thrashers, finishing 12th for the Calder. The former third overall pick in 2008 has posted 47 goals and 161 points along with 446 PIMs, 725 blocks and 971 hits. Not too shabby for the young veteran.
Jan 13 - 6:25 PM

Zach Bogosian got through his first game back from injury Saturday night without incident.

Bogosian, who had missed 20 games with a knee injury, was on the ice for 21:17 and 22 shifts against the Islanders, most with Dmitry Kulikov. The veteran rearguard was minus one for the evening and took one shot on goal. If you have Bogosian on your fantasy team, he is now safe to activate.
