Michael Del Zotto logged an incredible 29:20 minutes of playing time in Philadelphia's 3-0 victory against the New York Rangers on Saturday.
Del Zotto has averaged 23:44 minutes per contest, which represents a nice turnaround from 2013-14, when he fell out of favor with the New York Rangers. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, his increased ice time hasn't led to a rise in production as Del Zotto has five points in 24 contests in 2015-16. Nov 30 - 5:57 AM

Michael Del Zotto had an assist in a 3-2 shootout loss to Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Del Zotto has recorded a point in back-to-back games. He only had one assist in 16 contests prior to that though. He's certainly worth keeping an eye on as he has a fair amount of offensive upside despite his sluggish start.
Nov 18 - 9:14 AM

Michael Del Zotto is fortunate that his leg injury may only be minor.

Del Zotto was injured Saturday when he got caught up behind the net with the Jets Chris Thorburn and had his leg slew-footed albeit not intentionally. "I couldn't feel my leg," Del Zotto said. "That's why I didn't get up. I couldn't feel my right leg, so I was a bit concerned. I went off and after a couple minutes got it back. I just might have hit the nerve there. He just got the back of my leg. I couldn’t feel the back of my leg so I was a bit worried." Hopefully the defenseman will not miss any game time as he returned to action later in the second period. He has only one assist in 14 games this season.
Nov 8 - 9:01 AM

Michael Del Zotto took off Friday's practice for a maintenance day.

Del Zotto said that he would play on Saturday. He has only one assist and a minus-eight rating in 13 games so we do not recommend starting him in fantasy hockey.
Nov 7 - 9:39 AM

Michael Del Zotto hasn't done much offensively yet this season.

Del Zotto has just one assist in seven games. He's averaging 23:49 minutes per game though, including 2:20 with the man advantage, so we expect him to bounce back. Keep in mind that the Flyers as a whole got off to a quiet start offensively.
Oct 26 - 10:55 AM

Michael Del Zotto has agreed to a two-year, $7.75 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Del Zotto and the Flyers have avoided an arbitration hearing that was scheduled for July 21. He had 10 goals and 32 points in 64 contests last season. It wouldn't be shocking to us if he reaches the 40-point mark next season, but at the same time he obviously isn't far removed from his disastrous 2013-14 campaign, so he's still a bit of a risk.
Jul 16 - 4:33 PM

Michael Del Zotto's arbitration date with the Philadelphia Flyers is July 21.

Although he certainly had rough patches last season, it can still be counted as a bounce back season from his disastrous 2013-14 campaign. He had 10 goals and 32 points in 64 games last season.
Jul 13 - 6:10 PM

Michael Del Zotto was one of 23 players to file for salary arbitration on Sunday.

Del Zotto struggled to find his game after posting a career best 10 goals and 41 points in 2011-12, but he really turned it on after signing with the Flyers. The 25-year-old finished the season with 10 goals and 32 points in just 64 games.
Jul 5 - 6:32 PM

Michael Del Zotto filed for salary arbitration on Friday, but is expected to continue to negotiate with the Flyers through the weekend.

Del Zotto is coming off a resurgent season in which he scored 10 goals and 32 points in just 64 games for the Flyers. Coming off a one-year, $1.3M deal, Del Zotto is still just 25-years-old and shouldn't have much trouble getting a suitable raise from the Flyers. Keep the offensive defenseman in mind towards the back of the draft to round out your roster with.
Jul 3 - 5:48 PM

Michael Del Zotto's agent met with the Flyers on Thursday.

However, there wasn't much progress made in contract negotiations and the arbitration process is looking very likely. Del Zotto, who can become a restricted free agent in a less than a week, recorded 10 goals and 32 points in 64 games with Philadelphia this past campaign.
Jun 25 - 5:35 PM

Flyers GM Ron Hextall is confident that the Flyers will re-sign Michael Del Zotto, but it may take a while.

Del Zotto is only eligible for restricted free agency, so the Flyers shouldn't feel a sense of urgency to get this done. That said, it wouldn't be surprising to see Del Zotto get a raise from his 2014-15 salary of $1.3 million, especially seeing as the contract is expected to be a multi-year deal. He had 10 goals and 32 points in 64 contests last season.
Jun 19 - 6:10 PM

Restricted free agent Michael Del Zotto and the Philadelphia Flyers have begun negotiation a contract extension.

The Flyers however have a glut of NHL defensemen, with seven already on the roster including newly signed veteran Yevgeny Medvedev. Del Zotto represents something the Flyers are short on, youth and scoring talent. Still only entering his age-25 season, Del Zotto re-emerged with his best season of 32 points since 2011-12 while leading all Philadelphia blue liners with 10 goals. Del Zotto is coming off a one-year $1.3M contract, and has dinged the cap as much as $2.55M as recently as 2013-14.
May 23 - 6:05 PM

Michael Del Zotto scored his 10th goal of the season on Sunday.

It was a power play marker and the goal gave the defenseman six points in his last five games as well as 22 in his last 28. He now has 32 points this season. Del Zotto should be in line for a nice pay raise as he inked a one-year $1.3 million deal as a UFA in the off-season.
Apr 6 - 8:12 AM

Left for dead as a guy who barely got a contract for 2014-15, Michael Del Zotto continues to produce nice offense for the Philadelphia Flyers.

By grabbing two assists on Saturday, "MDZ" now has 31 points, crossing the 30 mark for the third time in his career. Say what you will about his defensive skills, it's hard to imagine him being ignored by GMs again next summer.
Apr 4 - 3:46 PM

Michael Del Zotto wants to return to the Flyers next season.

The defenseman inked a one-year deal as an unrestricted free agent in the off-season and is a restricted free agent this season. "I don't know what's going to happen," Del Zotto said. "I love it here. I love the group of guys here, I strongly believe in this room. It's kind of a weird year, an inconsistent year. I feel we have a team that could do some damage if we stayed consistent. I love everything about it here. It's an unbelievable sports city. I love the fans. It's the closest group of guys I've ever played with." He has nine goals and 29 points in 59 games this season.
