Michael Del Zotto has been very impressive of late and should be in line for a nice salary increase.
Del Zotto is an RFA at the end of the season after he signed a one-year/$1.3 million contract with the Flyers in the off-season. He has eight goals and 25 points this season including three goals and seven points in his last eight games. Not only that, but coach Craig Berube is using him in all kinds of situations. "He is playing against top lines, defending well and that’s the biggest thing for me," Berube said. "You know, he’s defending well and then he’s jumping in the play when he can and making good plays with the puck." Mar 1 - 8:41 AM

Michael Del Zotto scored the game-winning goal — shorthanded — for the Flyers in their 4-2 win over the Rangers on Saturday night.

Del Zotto kept his team’s faint playoff hopes alive, while knocking off the team that drafted and then traded him away. With the way Michael Del Zotto has played lately, the Philadelphia Flyers are expected to re-sign him.

Del Zotto has 10 points in his last 13 games, giving him seven goals and 16 assists in 48 contests this season. "I think it is just a matter of playing and being able to go out there and play 20-plus minutes and feeling comfortable," Del Zotto said. "Not over thinking and playing on instinct, believing in myself and that’s about it." He's averaging 21:03 minutes of ice time per contest. He'll only be restricted free agent this summer, so Philadelphia doesn't have to rush to get him locked up.
Feb 24 - 10:52 AM

Michael Del Zotto continued his renaissance with the Flyers by scoring a goal and adding a helper in a 5-2 loss to the Blue Jackets.

Del Zotto has scored at nearly a 40-point pace since joining the Flyers, which is a nice little comeback for a player that has had trouble sticking in the league over the past couple of seasons. Wayne Simmonds also registered his 22nd of the campaign in the defeat.
Feb 17 - 10:07 PM

Michael Del Zotto had an assist in a 2-1 victory over Buffalo.

Del Zotto has five goals and 19 points in 44 contests in 2014-15. After bouncing back from his dreadful 2013-14 campaign, Del Zotto should be able to maintain his current offensive pace.
Feb 16 - 11:02 AM

Michael Del Zotto is currently riding a six-game point streak.

The 24-year-old was made a healthy scratch in nine consecutive games at one point this season, but he has played over 20 minutes in 10 straight games. Del Zotto has five goals and 17 points in 39 games this season. He is starting to pop up on the fantasy radar.
Feb 1 - 10:19 AM

Michael Del Zotto scored the only goal in the Flyers’ 1-0 win over the Maple Leafs on Saturday night.

Del Zotto showed the offensive aptitude that made him a first-round pick, joining the rush and capitalizing on a Petr Straka pass close to the net, flicking it over James Reimer for his fifth goal of the season. Del Zotto is playing with great confidence right now, recording a point in six consecutive games. He has 17 on the season, and it may be time for fantasy owners in need of defense to take a flier on him. Wayne Simmonds recorded the other assist.
Jan 31 - 10:29 PM

Michael Del Zotto has topped 23 minutes of ice time in his past two outings.

He has also recorded one goal and two assists in those matches. "He's done a real good job," coach Craig Berube said. "He's very assertive and aggressive. He's checking hard, he's physical. He's moving the puck and he's jumping up in the play." Del Zotto was a healthy scratch 11 times during a 13-game span in December, but now he's playing with confidence.
Jan 20 - 6:14 PM

Michael Del Zotto had two assists on Saturday.

It was the second multiple point game of the season for Del Zotto who also had a pair of assists against Detroit on October 25. Del Zotto is not having a good fantasy season with only two goals and 12 points in 34 games. He is also a minus-six this season.
Jan 18 - 9:27 AM

Michael Del Zotto will skate in his fourth straight game on Tuesday night against Ottawa.

He had a power play assist on Saturday, but not much else. You should look elsewhere for production from the blue line.

Jan 6 - 6:28 PM

Michael Del Zotto was cut on the neck by Danny Briere's skate early in Wednesday's game against Colorado.

"I wanted to take an angle on [Briere]," Del Zotto said. "I don't know if I clipped a skate but went down and he skated away and I felt his blade hit my neck." Del Zotto needed somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 stitches to close the wound. Even still, it wasn't as bad as it could have been and Del Zotto was able to return for the second period.
Jan 1 - 9:21 AM

It's Michael Del Zotto's turn to see some time in the lineup Wednesday night against Colorado.

Del Zotto is filling in for Luke Schenn to the right of Andrew MacDonald, the Flyers' third pairing. His fantasy value is limited with just eight points, 41 blocks, and 50 hits through 24 games.

Defensemen Michael Del Zotto and Carlo Colaiacovo will once again be healthy scratches Monday night.

The Flyers are not inclined to change up their defensive pairings anytime soon, which means Del Zotto and Colaiacovo will remain in the press box for the foreseeable future. Del Zotto hasn't seen game action since December 9th while Colaiacovo's been out since November 19th.

Defensemen Michael Del Zotto and Carlo Colaiacovo will remain healthy scratches Saturday night.

The Flyers will roll out the same set of defensive pairings Saturday night against the Predators, so Del Zotto and Colaiacovo will be in the press box once again. Del Zotto has eight points in 24 games played this year and if he gets back to his 2011-2012 ways, then he has some fantasy upside. Colaiacovo has only played in five games this season, picking up two assists.

Michael Del Zotto isn't happy about his recent lack of playing time.

He has been scratched eighth times in 10 games during the month of December. "Honestly, I don't know what to think. I really don't," Del Zotto said. "Obviously, you're not happy with one game, let alone [six]. So I'm not happy with it. In San Jose [on Dec. 2] I was shocked, disappointed, frustrated, all of those things. All of the above. At first, you get really frustrated and upset, but at the end of the day you have no control over what's going on." In 24 games this year, he has eight points and he's averaged 20:22 of ice time, but coach Craig Berube feels the defenseman's game has "dropped off."
