Roman Josi scored a goal and an assist in a 5-3 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.

Josi was given way too much time by the Ducks, leaving the Predators defenseman to pick his corner and fire the puck by Gibson for his fourth goal of the year. Since returning from his lower-body injury, Josi has picked up eight points in eight games. His point total has reached eight in 10 games.
Nov 4 - 12:43 AM

Roman Josi collected a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Calgary Flames.

Josi and the Predators did all of their damage in the first period and on the man-advantage. The Preds defender registered the primary assist on Filip Forsberg's goal before adding one of his own just over a minute later. On the down side, Josi was on the ice for both of Calgary's goals in the third frame. Josi finished the night with a minus-2 rating and four shots on goal in 27 minutes of ice time. He has two goals and three assists in six games.

This was Josi's first game back in the lineup after he missed three games with a lower-body injury. His power play goal at the 13:30 mark of the second period made it 2-1 for Nashville. Josi also helped set up Colton Sissons' goal later on in the period to make it 3-1 for the Predators. Josi finished the game with a plus-1 rating, two penalty minutes, seven shots on goal and one hit in 22:30 of ice time. These were Josi's first two points of the 2017-18 season.

Roman Josi (lower body) skated on Monday at practice.

Josi has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury. He is still listed as day-to-day. The Predators host Colorado on Tuesday and it's unclear if Josi will be back in the lineup for that matchup at this time.

Roman Josi (lower body) took part in Friday's practice.

Josi was a game-time decision, but he's been battling a lower-body injury. He's considered day-to-day at this point. We'll provide an update on his status as soon as the Predators make one available. Samuel Girard is expected to take his place in the lineup.
Oct 10 - 7:34 PM

Roman Josi (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday.

Josi didn't take part in the morning skate and he skipped Monday's session for maintenance. He seems unlikely to play because Samuel Girard will make his NHL debut.
Oct 10 - 12:01 PM

Roman Josi has been named the Predators' eighth captain in franchise history.

Josi is also the second Swiss-born captain in league history. He has led the Predators in ice time per game in each of the past three years. Josi accounted for 12 goals and 49 points in 72 matches last season. Nashville also announced that Ryan Ellis will serve as "associate captain," while Ryan Johansen, Filip Forsberg and Mattias Ekholm will be alternate captains.

Roman Josi is a strong candidate to be Nashville's next captain.

Josi was a full-time alternate captain last season. The 27-year-old defender has led the Predators in ice time per game in each of the past three years. Josi has played 406 career games with Nashville and he has 52 matches of playoff experience. Ryan Johansen, Ryan Ellis and P.K. Subban could also wear the "C" for the team following Mike Fisher's retirement.

Josi also ranks first among Predators blueliners with 14 points in 19 playoff games. Only Erik Karlsson has more points among defensemen as he recorded 18 points in 19 contests before the Ottawa Senators were eliminated.
