After receiving a thunderous hit by Taylor Hall, Philip Larsen was stretchered off the ice.

Larsen played just 6:56 before departing. Hopefully the Canucks were just being cautious, and the next report will be that he's okay. But it did look like Larsen took Hall's shoulder flush to the jaw. Check out the highlight below. We'll keep you posted as his status develops.

Once again, Philip Larsen and Alex Biega will be scratched by Vancouver.

Mark it six games in a row now that Larsen has been scratched, including tonight's match with Chicago. Considering how much time he was getting before, it's difficult to understand why he's made his press box seat so warm. Larsen posted four helpers with 12 blocks in 13 games.

Philip Larsen picked up his first two points of the season Saturday.

Larsen had a pair of power play assists but was also a minus-two on the evening. The defenseman has been the quarterback on the first power play and it looked like it finally began to click on Saturday. He is worth taking because of his offensive capabilities as he had 11 goals and 36 points in 52 KHL games with Jokerit last season.

Philip Larsen is having plenty of trouble in five-on-five situations.

Larsen is gifted offensively and could quarterback the Canucks power play this season but his five-on-five play could also put him in the minors as he is not NHL ready. Larsen had 11 goals and 36 points in 52 KHL games with Jokerit last season so he has the offensive capabilities to perform in the NHL.

It looks like the Vancouver Canucks will give Philip Larsen the first crack at running their power play from the back end.

"They say his ability to carry the puck up ice and walk the line and get pucks through is excellent," Benning told reporters, as per TSN 1040 radio. "When we made the trade, we were kind of trying to figure out a right-shot defenseman that could run the power play, so we’re going to give him that opportunity." It looks like the Canucks will entrust Larsen with improving their 27th ranked power play next season. Keep your eye on him during training camp and preseason.
