Tyler Myers built some great chemistry with his Winnipeg teammates after he was acquired from Buffalo.
Even though it seemed like an easy transition based on how well he played, Myers said he's looking forward to starting the year with the Jets. "When the trade happened it was a whirlwind," he said. "I didn't know what to think. But even a week or two in I really found a home with this team." Myers collected 15 points in 24 games and he logged big minutes for the team. The 25-year-old defender looks poised to recapture the form he had when he won the Calder Trophy back in 2010. Sep 21 - 9:46 AM

Tyler Myers' imprint on Monday's 5-4 overtime loss to Anaheim was vast, including a timely goal across a game-leading 26:12 of work.

Myers has been everything and more for the Jets since coming over from Buffalo. Along with his goal, he registered three other shots, three blocks, and two hits. Believe it or not, Myers has been around long enough to have played in Buffalo's two previous playoffs as well. He now has three goals and eight points in 16 career postseason matches.
Apr 21 - 1:51 AM

Tyler Myers helped to lead the Jets over the Oilers 4-1 on Monday night with a third period goal.

Myers also contributed a minor, two hits, and a block during his 22:52 of ice time with 5:31 spent on special teams. He's been exactly the boon the Jets were hoping for when they acquired him from Buffalo, plus his offense has returned, potting three goals and 11 points through 16 games with the Jets.
Mar 24 - 3:28 AM

Tyler Myers (upper body) will indeed play on Tuesday.

That was already expected, but now we have confirmation. The Jets' lineup is still up in the air though as Dustin Byfuglien will be a game-time decision. Myers has six goals and 22 points in 59 games in 2014-15.
Mar 17 - 12:57 PM

Tyler Myers (upper body) is expected to be back on Tuesday versus San Jose.

He sat out Saturday's game with an upper-body injury and returned to practice on Monday. We'll let you know if we hear otherwise, but it appears to be safe to get him back in your lineup.
Mar 16 - 2:21 PM

Tyler Myers did not take part in Saturday morning's skate.

He is therefore doubtful to play Saturday night against the Lightning. Myers slid into the boards during Thursday's game and sustained an upper-body injury. We would consider Myers day-to-day.
Mar 14 - 1:03 PM

Jets coach Paul Maurice didn't provide much information on Tyler Myers' (upper body) condition on Friday.

Maurice was asked if there was even a chance Myers would play on Saturday and he replied, "I don't know the answer to that. I won't have an update for you until tomorrow." If you want to be optimistic about the situation, you could take that to mean that Myers' injury is minor. We recommend waiting and seeing rather than jumping to any conclusion.
Mar 13 - 2:08 PM

Tyler Myers suffered an upper-body injury in Thursday's loss to Florida.

He went to dressing room after he slid into the end boards midway through the second period and tried to return in the third. However, he left the game again after a brief test on the ice. Myers had two shots in 10:36 of ice time.
Mar 13 - 9:37 AM

Tyler Myers played 26:08 seconds in Saturday's 3-1 win over Nashville.

The Jets had to lean on Myers more than usual because they were without Dustin Byfuglien. The 25-year-old finished the game with one assist, a plus-2 rating, three shots and two hits in the game. Myers has six goals and 21 points in 57 games this season.
Mar 8 - 12:46 PM

Tyler Myers earned an assist in Winnipeg's 5-1 loss to Washington on Thursday.

He has recorded four points in four contests since joining the Jets and he has picked up at least one point in three straight games. Myers also has 13 shots on goal and he's owned in 30% of Yahoo leagues. Pick him up if you are looking for help on the back end.
Feb 20 - 9:57 AM

Tyler Myers scored his first goal with the Jets on Monday night.

He had two assists in his previous outing and he's topped 20 minutes of ice time in three contests with Winnipeg following his acquisition from Buffalo. Myers doesn't have to everything on the Jets and it appears as though he'll be a good fit on their blueline, especially with Toby Enstrom feeding him for one-timers.
Feb 17 - 8:30 AM

Tyler Myers registered two assists in Saturday's shootout win over Detroit.

This was just Myers' second game since being acquired by the Jets and he paid off in a big way. Myers picked up the primary assists on second period goals from Blake Wheeler and Drew Stafford. Not only did he have two points, but he also had two penalty minutes, four shots and two hits in 22:57 of ice time.
Feb 15 - 12:22 PM

Tyler Myers finished his first game as a Winnipeg Jet with a -1 rating but +1 on the injury front as he hobbled off the ice after blocking a Shea Weber slap shot in the third period.

Myers played 21:23 in his debut after the blockbuster trade earlier this week. There should not be too much concern for his injury, but we'll let you know if it still hampers him before the Jets take on Detroit on Saturday.
Feb 12 - 11:51 PM

As expected, Tyler Myers was paired with Toby Enstrom during Winnipeg's morning skate.

He is slated to make his Winnipeg debut on the team's top defense pairing. It will be interesting to see how the Jets use Myers during power-play situations because he may have to settle for second-unit duty like Zach Bogosian did.
Feb 12 - 1:14 PM

Tyler Myers has been traded to Winnipeg in a blockbuster deal involving Evander Kane.

The Jets also moved defenseman Zach Bogosian in the trade, so Myers will probably step into his spot alongside Toby Enstrom. Myers won the Calder Trophy in 2009-10, but his play has dropped off each year every since. He has four goals, 13 points and a minus-15 rating in 47 games this season.
