Alex Pietrangelo worked on his cardio Thursday night against the Kings, skating 30:03 of the 65 minutes.

Statistically speaking, he didn't contribute much else. Just three blocks and nearly eight minutes of special teams times. Coach Ken Hitchcock leaned on Pietrangelo almost five more minutes than anyone else, but let's hope the rest of the Blues D-corps is able to step up their game as the season moves along.
Oct 17 - 2:16 AM

Alex Pietrangelo didn't play Sunday because of an undisclosed injury, but he's expected to play in the Blues' postseason opener.

The series begins in St. Louis on Thursday against Chicago. Pietrangelo amassed 51 points in 81 games from the back end in 2013-14.
Apr 14 - 6:19 PM

The 24 year-old has 44 points through 65 games this season.
Mar 11 - 11:20 PM

Alex Pietrangelo and Jay Bouwmeester have formed a solid pairing for Canada at the Olympics.

The two of them play together in St. Louis as well and they have helped the Blues maintain their presence as one of the better teams in the league. Pietrangelo and Bouwmeester have formed Canada's third defense pairing and their offensive contributions have been limited to one assist each, but they have been a vital part of Team Canada's outstanding transition game.
Feb 22 - 6:32 PM

Alex Pietrangelo became the first Blues' defenseman to record at least 40 points in his first three NHL seasons.

That's a pretty impressive achievement. In fact, with an assist Thursday night, Pietrangelo became the first NHL defenseman to manage that feat since Dion Phaneuf did it (2005-2008). Pietrangelo is an elite fantasy defenseman who always seems to be underrated. Don't let him slip beyond the second round next draft day.
Feb 8 - 9:42 AM

Alex Pietrangelo had an assist in the Blues' 4-3 shootout win over Nashville on Saturday.

Pietrangelo has six goals and 38 points in 54 games this season. That puts him in a tie for fourth place in the blueliner scoring race. He's not going to catch up with the likes of Erik Karlsson or Duncan Keith, but Pietrangelo is capable of maintaining his current pace and consequently comfortably surpassing the 50-point mark.
Feb 2 - 11:17 AM

Alex Pietrangelo stretched his point streak to six games on Tuesday with an assist.

He has two goals and seven helpers over that span to give him 33 points in 45 matches. If Pietrangelo can continue to score at his current pace then he could end up with 50-60 points at the end of the year.
Jan 15 - 10:40 AM

Defenseman Alex Pietrangelo scored a goal in St. Louis' 2-1 loss to Vancouver Friday night.

Pietrangelo now has seven goals and 25 assists in 44 games this season. There aren't many defensemen out there who you can count on to give you at least 40 points on a yearly basis, but Pietrangelo is one of them. Jay Bouwmeester and Patrik Berglund assisted on the lone goal.
Jan 11 - 2:52 AM

Alex Pietrangelo has recorded at least a point in four of his last five games.

Pietrangelo had a goal and an assist on Saturday, giving him 28 points in 41 contests in 2013-14. There's not many defensemen out there that you can count on to give you at least 40 points on a yearly basis, but Pietrangelo's one of them.
Jan 5 - 10:47 AM

Alex Pietrangelo earned a pair of power-play assists in Thursday's 5-0 win over Los Angeles.

He also had two shots and four blocks, while racking up a team-high 23:58 of ice time. Pietrangelo hasn't scored a goal since Nov. 2, but he has compiled eight helpers in his past 11 matches.
Jan 3 - 9:59 AM

Alex Pietrangelo has gone 26 straight games without a goal.

Obviously, these kind of droughts are different when it comes to defensemen, but Pietrangelo has been a bit streaky with his goal scoring this season. He didn't find the back of the net in his first eight games and then he scored goals in four straight games from Oct. 26 to Nov. 2. "Petro has created a lot of offensive zone time," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "I think our one concern with him is that we need him to get the shots through the first layer of coverage. There's too many blocked shots." He has 24 points and a plus-12 rating in 38 matches.

Alex Pietrangelo and Jay Bouwmeester had different defense partners on Monday night.

Pietrangelo was paired with Barret Jackman and Bouwmeester skated alongside Roman Polak "We weren't playing very good defensively and we needed to make some adjustments," coach Ken Hitchcock said before the team's 3-2 overtime loss to Ottawa. "We've got to get more continuity and better play back there. Our transition game from our exits was too inconsistent. I thought changing the pairs gave them a different focus."

Alex Pietrangelo suffered an injury scare Thursday when a shot deflected off his helmet.

The play occurred in first period when a shot by Islanders defenseman Andrew MacDonald sent him into the dressing room. Pietrangelo was able to return before the period ended and he stayed in the fold for the rest of the contest. In 20:48 of ice time, he had a plus-2 rating and two shots. He is currently mired in a five-game pointless skid and he hasn't scored a goal since Nov. 2. It shouldn't take him very long to get back on track.

Alex Pietrangelo collected two assists in a 6-1 win Saturday.

Pietrangelo has four goals and 18 points in 22 games this season. That's good enough to put him in a tie for fourth place among defensemen in the scoring race. He probably won't maintain his current pace, but he should comfortably surpass the 40-point mark.
