Alex Pietrangelo logged a career high 32:54 of ice time last Saturday against Detroit.
That was the most he has played in a regular-season game and the most by a member of the Blues since Christian Backman played 34:42 against Colorado in March 2006. The record belongs to Chris Pronger, who had 37:17 of playing time in December 2000. Pietrangelo hasn't earned a point in his past seven contests and he has nine points in 22 matches this season. Alex Pietrangelo was happy to get his first goal of the season Saturday night after failing to score in his previous 13 outings.

"It was about time," he said. "I had a couple of good looks in the last couple of games. I thought it was going to come, and finally it did. Hopefully there's more." Pietrangelo has collected four of his eight points in his last four games.
Nov 10 - 2:13 PM

Alex Pietrangelo chipped in two helpers in a 6-5 overtime win over Chicago on Wednesday night.

He had the primary assist on David Backes' game-tying marker in the second period and Vladimir Tarasenko's game winner in the extra session. Pietrangelo is still seeking his first goal of the year, but he has registered four of his seven assists in his last five outings.
Nov 5 - 9:53 AM

Alex Pietrangelo has picked up one shot in three games.

Pietrangelo hasn't been directing shots towards the net yet early into the season, but he does have three assists, including two on the power play, and a plus-4 rating.
Oct 16 - 6:06 PM

The St. Louis Blues are looking for a bounce-back season from Jay Bouwmeester and Alex Pietrangelo.

"Well, I think they both didn’t play as well as they have in the past," Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said. "With Petro, we need him back playing with that jump that he did in the last 20 league games and the whole playoffs. I think with Bouwmeester we need him getting back to where he’s a great 200-foot player. That’s what we’re looking for." The two often come in a pairing (including with Canada at the Sochi Olympics) but Hitchcock still hasn't played them together in the preseason. It looks like they may be playing on two separate pairings when the season opens up next month.

Alex Pietrangelo thinks the Blues had a successful offseason.

Fresh off a 109-point season and a loss in the first round of the playoffs, the Blues did not do a lot to their roster. They traded T.J. Oshied to the Capitals for Troy Brouwer and signed Kyle Brodziak. "[Doug Armstrong] and [coach Ken Hitchcock] did a great job this summer," Pietrangelo said. "It's obviously tough to see guys go because they're good friends, but some of these guys have come in pretty early. [Brouwer] has been here for a few weeks now. We've bonded pretty well, and he fits right in."
Sep 6 - 9:09 AM

When asked about what St. Louis has to do to get back into their first round series against Minnesota, Alex Pietrangelo said "win the next game".

The Blues find themselves facing elimination going into Sunday's game six action in Minnesota. "We've still got two hockey games to play," said Pietrangelo. "We're not going to hang our heads here, we know we've got to play better. We'll take a hard look at ourselves and get ready for game six."
Apr 26 - 10:03 AM

Alex Pietrangelo collected two helpers during the Blues' 3-0 victory over the Stars on Sunday night.

It was another outstanding game by the Blues top defenseman, who also saved a goal that trickled through Jake Allen. The assists gives him 32 for the season and 38 points. He now has eight points coming with the man advantage.
Mar 15 - 9:51 PM

Alex Pietrangelo is a plus-10 in his last 10 games.

While his minus-two overall rating does not look great, he has vastly improved upon of late. He has four goals and 22 assists this season and should have a better second half.
Jan 17 - 3:04 PM

Alex Pietrangelo registered two assists in Saturday's 5-4 shootout win over Carolina.

Pietrangelo picked up assists on Alex Steen and Patrick Berglund's goals. The 24-year-old has four points in his last three games, and has four goals and 25 points in 42 games this season. Pietrangelo will look to put an average first half of the season behind him.
Jan 11 - 12:07 PM

Alex Pietrangelo has not played well for the Blues thus far this season.

He has registered a mere seven points in 19 games after recording 51 in 81 games last year. Pietrangelo has also been a bit of a liability without the puck as he has a minus five rating after posting a plus 20 rating in 2013-14. We expect Pietrangelo to rebound some, but his poor start can't be erased.

The St. Louis Blues won an impressive game over the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Blues are off to a slow start with a 3-3-2 record this season. "We had to win one game to get things going back in the right direction," said Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo, who had two assists. "There's nothing better than playing against an opponent like this, division rival, big game for us."

The Anaheim Ducks defeated the St. Louis Blues 3-0 on Sunday night.

After scoring six goals against Arizona on Saturday, the Blues were unable to beat Ducks’ goalie Frederik Andersen on Sunday. St. Louis has now been shutout in two of their last three contests. Defenseman Alex Pietrangelo had three shots on goal and played a game-high 23:19.

Alex Pietrangelo worked on his cardio Thursday night against the Kings, skating 30:03 of the 65 minutes.

Statistically speaking, he didn't contribute much else. Just three blocks and nearly eight minutes of special teams times. Coach Ken Hitchcock leaned on Pietrangelo almost five more minutes than anyone else, but let's hope the rest of the Blues D-corps is able to step up their game as the season moves along.

Alex Pietrangelo didn't play Sunday because of an undisclosed injury, but he's expected to play in the Blues' postseason opener.

The series begins in St. Louis on Thursday against Chicago. Pietrangelo amassed 51 points in 81 games from the back end in 2013-14.
