The Florida Panthers are recalling Colby Robak.

Robak is the latest reinforcement for a blueline that has been decimated by injuries. He has 23 points and 50 penalty minutes in 63 AHL games this season. He also has an assist and 17 penalty minutes in 15 contests with Florida in 2012-13.
Apr 22 - 1:08 PM

Colby Robak was assigned to San Antonio of the AHL.

His services were no longer needed as the Cats' have six healthy defensemen and George Parros returning from injury in need of a roster spot. Robak has no real fantasy value so this news is hardly shattering.
Mar 30 - 10:50 AM

Expect Colby Robak to draw in Saturday on the Panthers' defense in place of the injured Mike Weaver.

Robak has had some modest offensive success at the AHL level (19 points in 52 games) but we can't recommend him at this time.
Mar 2 - 10:04 AM

Colby Robak was summoned by the Florida Panthers and made his season debut on Sunday.

Robak had a plus-one rating and two shots on goal in Florida's 4-1 loss to the Boston Bruins. He logged a total of 14:51 minutes. Robak has 19 points and 46 penalty minutes in 52 AHL games this season.
Feb 25 - 10:09 AM

Colby Robak was summoned from the minors on Wednesday by Florida.

He probably won't sneak into the team's top-six group even with Erik Gudbranson injured and Dmitry Kulikov unsigned. Robak has 18 points in 40 games for San Antonio of the AHL this campaign. He might be able to start the 2013 season as Florida's seventh defenseman though if he can beat out fellow call-ups Alex Petrovic and Michael Caruso for the position.
Jan 17 - 9:33 AM

Colby Robak scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in San Antonio's 3-2 win over Houston on Sunday.

Robak registered 39 points from the back end last season in the AHL and he suited up in three games with the Florida Panthers. He might've received a shot at an NHL roster spot during camp if it weren't for the lockout.

Colby Robak has been sent down to the minors.

Robak has no points in three NHL games this season. He'll report to AHL San Antonio.

The Florida Panthers have recalled defenseman Colby Robak from San Antonio of the AHL.

Robak, a recent AHL All-Star at 21, shares the points lead among Rampage blueliners. The second-round selection (46th overall) of the Panthers in 2008 was called up by the Panthers to replace Jason Garrison for Sunday's road match against the New York Islanders and will play in his first NHL game.

The Florida Panthers have signed Colby Robak to a three-year/entry level deal.

Robak is a great skater with a solid offensive upside, and plays well in the transition game. The defenseman had 16 goals and 66 points in 71 games for the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL this season and managed three goals and 12 points in 15 playoff games. He will participate in the Memorial Cup as Brandon is the host city. Look for Robak to spend next season in the minors and gain some professional experience.

The Panthers dealt a fourth-round pick in 2009 to the Phoenix Coyotes to move up three spots in the second round and grab defenseman Colby Robak 46th overall at the 2008 draft.

"We felt it was worth it for us … to be able to get that player," general manager Jacques Martin said. "Without a first-round [pick], it was kind of unnerving. We were able to overcome that and get two players we would have got even if we had a first-round pick." Robak and goaltender Jacob Markstrom, taken 31st overall, were both thought to be first-round quality players in the 2008 draft class; Florida picked them both in the second round. Robak is a great skater with a solid offensive upside, that plays well in the transition game. He has been criticized in the past for not using his size to his advantage though and will have to work on that before coming to the NHL.
