May 1 - 8:46 AM

Luca Sbisa (lower body) is questionable for Game 1 Tuesday.

Sbisa missed the last six games with the injury as the defenseman is having trouble skating and still cannot make it through a full practice. "Hopefully I'll be ready by the first game," Sbisa said. "That's the goal. I've got to see how the body reacts and stuff. As of right now, we decided not to force it too much." Stay tuned as coach Bruce Boudreau hopes Sbisa is able to participate in practice Monday.
Apr 29 - 6:40 AM

Luca Sbisa (lower body) is targeting the Ducks' playoffs opener as his return date.

Sbisa will miss the Ducks' season finale on Saturday. The game has no value to Anaheim from a standings perspective, so they had no motivation to try and push Sbisa into the lineup if he wasn't feeling 100%.
Apr 27 - 3:26 PM

Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau said defenseman Luca Sbisa (lower body injury) will remain sidelined for the Ducks when they play the Phoenix Coyotes today in their final game of the regular season.

"We want to win, end on a high note and feel good about ourselves going into our playoffs," Boudreau said of the otherwise inconsequential game.

Apr 24 - 9:15 PM

Luca Sbisa (lower body) missed his fourth straight game Monday.

Sbisa skated Sunday and it was thought that he could be ready to play on Monday but his skate on Monday did not produce good results. "It almost felt the same or even a little worse, which was really disappointing. I really wanted to play tonight," Sbisa said. "It doesn't make sense to really force it right now. I've been playing with it for a while. It's just not allowing me to play the game I want to play." Sbisa will try to play on Thursday as he hopes the couple of extra days will make a difference.
Apr 23 - 5:30 AM

Much like Sheldon Souray, Luca Sbisa's status for Sunday's Anaheim Ducks-Edmonton Oilers game is uncertain.

Both players are struggling with lower-body injuries. While the Ducks don't want to "back in" to the playoffs - they've lost four in a row - it's likely preferable to have everyone as healthy as possible.
Apr 21 - 1:51 PM

Luca Sbisa (undisclosed) wasn't able to practice on Thursday.

Sbisa didn't play on Wednesday and is questionable for Friday's game. He had eight points and 23 penalty minutes in 41 games this season.

The Ducks wouldn't reveal what's wrong with Sbisa, other than to say he's sore. They also consider him questionable for Wednesday's contest.
Apr 17 - 8:14 AM

Defenseman Luca Sbisa says the Anaheim Ducks were put through a vigorous practice session -- complete with meetings -- on Saturday, less than 24 hours after the team's 12-game point streak ended with a thud.

The Ducks are 22-4-4 and yet, Saturday, "Our practice had a lot of intensity and a little bit of emotion on the ice," Sbisa said. "Our guys got (upset) a bit when things didn't go their way and I think that's the way it's supposed to be. We weren't happy with the way we played (Friday, in a 5-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings). We weren't happy with our compete level. And I think a day like this will get us on the right track again." The Ducks can instantly apply what lessons they learned from the Red Wings when the teams tangle again tonight.
Mar 24 - 9:38 AM

Luca Sbisa netted his first goal of the season on Tuesday.

Since spending a game in the press box on Feb. 25, Sbisa has four points in eight contests. He might be worth taking a chance on if you're hurting for blueliners, but his fantasy value in standard leagues is still very limited.
Mar 13 - 8:33 AM

Luca Sbisa played on Wednesday after spending Monday's contest in the press box.

"I just think he's too good a player to be playing average," Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said. "And we want him to raise his bar. Not raise the bar of OK the level there is good. But I think his level should be up here and not be satisfied with anything else." Sbisa had a plus-one rating and two blocked shots in 20:02 minutes on Wednesday.
