The Nashville Predators are hoping Colin Wilson will be more well-rounded in 2016-17.
More specifically, Nashville wants Wilson to play in the regular season like he does in the playoffs. In 2015-16 he was limited to just 24 points in 64 regular season games, but during the 2016 postseason he had 13 points in 14 contests. Wilson is certainly aware of the contrast and attributes it to his focus on helping the Predators succeed in the playoffs. The goal then is to think like that throughout the campaign. "When it's just like such a short period, you have to go out there and win," Wilson said. "It's just different than an 82-game schedule. I think you kind of get lost, go into slumps, so I've got to embrace every game, embrace every moment. That mindset has been successful for me, so I'll be trying to do it next year." Colin Wilson leads the Predators in playoff scoring.

If we were to have told you that that would be the case in December, you would have thought we were in some kind of altered state. Wilson has been a beast in the postseason thus far with four goals and 11 points in 11 games and has been a perfect compliment to James Neal and Mike Fisher on what has become the Preds' de facto first line.

Wilson opened the scoring just 41 seconds into the game. He would later assist on James Neal's late game-tying goal as well as Mike Fisher's overtime winner. Quite the night. He's now up to four goals and 11 points in 11 games this postseason.

Apr 20 - 1:46 PM

Colin Wilson has notched a goal and an assist in the first two games of Nashville's first-round series versus Anaheim.

"I think when all you're worrying about is winning and trying to do anything you can to help the team, whether it's get a hit, get in on the forecheck, score a goal, the game is just really easy that way," Wilson said. His simplified game has been working so far and it's great for the Predators after Wilson scored just 24 points in 64 games during the regular season.

Colin Wilson continues to be a clutch performer in the postseason.

Apr 16 - 2:04 AM

Colin Wilson ended his personal 15-game goal drought during Tuesday's 4-3 win over Colorado.

Wilson picked up just four points over that span, so tonight's goal and assist effort shouldn't be seen as a sign of things to come. Also his six goals and 24 points in 68 games is nothing to be excited over.
Apr 6 - 1:58 AM

Colin Wilson will be a healthy scratch in Thursday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The former seventh overall pick in 2008 is having a tough season. He's scored just five goals and 22 points in 60 games in 2015-16. He hasn't found the back of the net in 14 games. Eric Nystrom will also watch the game from the press box.
Mar 31 - 7:07 PM

Colin Wilson had an assist in Thursday's 3-2 shootout win over Vancouver.

It ended a six-game scoring drought for the 25-year-old winger when James Neal scored his 29th goal of the season. Wilson feels confident that he can finish the season on a high note. "I think when that playoff stretch is coming down, it's a higher-energy game and everybody is fighting for something," he said. "Your head starts to clear and you're like, 'I just have to go out there and help the team win and get to the playoffs.' It's an exciting time. Instead of looking at it as an 82-game schedule, you're looking game to game." He has recorded just five goals and 22 points in 57 games this season.
