Cody Hodgson was demoted to the fourth line on Sunday.

Sabres coach Ron Rolston described it as a matchup issue that had nothing to do with Hodgson specifically. Although when pressed Rolston also suggested that Hodgson needs to do better defensively. Hodgson has been held off the scoresheet for four straight games, but he still has 12 goals and 28 points in 36 games this season.

Cody Hodgson has two goals and two assists in his past four games with the Sabres.

With 21 points in 25 games in this 48-game shortened season, Hodgson is worth a look in 10 and 12-team leagues, especially if your league rewards faceoffs won as you can start him as a winger in Yahoo! formats.

Cody Hodgson tallied a pair of goals Tuesday in Buffalo's 4-3 loss to Carolina.

Cody Hodgson had a goal and two assists during Thursday's 7-4 win over the Boston Bruins.

After starting the season with points in three straight games, Hodgson was held off the score sheet in the last three contests, one of which linemate Thomas Vanek sat out. As long as Vanek is healthy, Buffalo's top line of Vanek, Hodgson and Jason Pominville could put up some monster numbers in this shortened season. If Hodgson is still available in your league, pick him up immediately.
Feb 1 - 9:05 AM

Cody Hodgson was rewarded by heading to the net in Monday's 2-1 win over Toronto.

He took a Christian Ehrhoff slapshot off the body to open the scoring in the match and give him his second goal of the season. "I was just trying not to get hit in the head," he said smiling. "I turned away and it hit my chest but I'll take it." Buffalo's top line of Hodgson, Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville have played very well in the team's first two games of the 2013 season. If he keeps driving toward the goal, he should garner his fair share of points this year.
Jan 22 - 8:53 AM

Cody Hodgson gelled with Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville in Buffalo's 5-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.

Hodgson had a goal while Vanek finished the contest with five points and Pominville registered three assists. "That line was the difference," Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said. "Van was fabulous, [Hodgson] was terrific and Pommer was right somewhere between those two. We look at those guys as being our top line that can push us to that next level." With that in mind, it's a safe bet that Hodgson will stay on the top line for at least a little while longer.

Cody Hodgson has been on fire since returning from a broken hand.

He has four goals and eight points in his last six games after missing six weeks due to the injury. "I kept in good shape," said Hodgson. "I’ve probably been on the ice more than I would have if I’d have kept playing, but I feel comfortable out there and things are clicking." He'll be called up by the Buffalo Sabres if the season is saved.

Cody Hodgson may make his return to the lineup from a broken bone in his hand on Saturday versus the Toronto Marlies.

Hodgson has been sidelined since Nov. 3 and he had 10 points in nine games prior to getting hurt. "Obviously, you know how good Cody is and what he can mean to a team in more ways than one with his leadership and his offensive ability," coach Ron Rolston said. "It's been a day-to-day thing [with the hand]. I think now it's more of the strength of it and the functionality of what he can do out there. We're hoping on Saturday, but we'll see how it goes." Rochester has faced a plethora of injury concerns this AHL season, which is highlighted by the fact that only seven players have skated in all 22 games. Several key injuries up front forced the team to dress defensemen at forward, but they did get Zemgus Girgensons and Nick Tarnasky back from the sickbay on Tuesday.

Cody Hodgson will reportedly be sidelined for a couple of weeks because of a broken bone in his right hand.

He told the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle that the injury occurred on Oct. 27 when he was slashed by Adirondack's Brandon Manning, but he played through the injury last Friday in a 3-2 shootout win against Hamilton. Hodgson didn't dress in Saturday's rematch. He has registered one goal and nine helpers in 10 games with Rochester and is expected to center one of Buffalo's top-two lines when the NHL resumes play.
