Josh Bailey scored for the Islanders in their 3-2 overtime loss to the Senators on Saturday night.

A nice performance in front of his parents. With six goals and 13 points, Bailey isn’t a fantasy factor, though he does provide solid minutes to the Islanders. He also had three shots on goal. Matt Martin picked up the other goal, and he had four shots on goal and two penalty minutes.

Josh Bailey will play in his 500th NHL game Monday when the Islanders host Colorado.

Bailey has 86 goals and 240 points in his first 499 games as his NHL career never took off like it was supposed to when he was drafted ninth overall in 2009. The Islanders kept him as an 18-year-old and in hindsight that was a poor move as he never developed like he should have. "It’s not easy for anyone to come into this League when you’re 18 years old," teammate Frans Nielsen said. "He came in, was moving around, playing center, playing wing. It’s understandable that it takes time to figure out your role." His best season was last year when he had 15 goals and 41 points. Bailey has five goals and 12 points in 23 games this campaign.

Josh Bailey is getting more regular minutes with John Tavares.

"They've had success. He's a smart hockey player and he reads off Johnny pretty well," Islanders coach Jack Capuano said of Bailey. This is obviously great news for Bailey as there's not too many players that it's better to play alongside than Tavares. Bailey has three goals and six points in nine games this season.

Bailey has 15 goals and 38 points in 63 contests in 2014-15. At the age of 25 and with 469 NHL games under his belt, we don't see Bailey taking a big step up in the future. At this point what you see if pretty much what you should expect to get going forward.

Josh Bailey recorded his 13th goal of the season in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Stars.

Bailey has been a very consistent scorer for the Islanders this season if we ignore the first two months of the campaign. Now that he has settled into his depth role, he has delivered enough production to make him roster-worthy in deeper formats. Anders Lee also scored the New York in the loss.

Josh Bailey registered his ninth goal of the season as part of a 3-2 win over Edmonton Tuesday night.

Bailey has enjoyed his time on the top line this week as he has four assists in three games with Kyle Okposo and John Tavares. Bailey, a former ninth overall pick in 2008 has never had more than 38 points in a season, a feat he accomplished last season, but now has seven goals and 18 points in 32 games with a plus-eight rating. Should he remain on the top unit, get him and put him in your lineup.
