Josh Bailey said the Islanders’ early season success, a 15-8-2 record, is no anomaly.

"We expected this," said Bailey, who has 30 points (25 assists) in 25 games this season. "We wanted to get off to a good start. I think we've done a pretty good job of that so far, but I think we realize we still have a long way go, though. No one's getting ahead of themselves in here. It's a long, long season and you've really got to take it one day at a time."

Josh Bailey continues to amaze.

With his two assists Friday night, Bailey now leads the Islanders in scoring with 30 points in 25 games, one more than superstar John Tavares. Even more incredible, is that Bailey is tied for second in the NHL with 25 assists, only one behind points' leader Steven Stamkos. We keep waiting for Bailey to come down to earth, but maybe he's finally fulfilling his promise as a former first-round pick.
Dec 2 - 9:57 AM

Josh Bailey's potent start to the season has him ranked 10th in NHL scoring, one spot above teammate John Tavares.

The 28-year-old has 28 points in 23 games so far, well on pace to break his career high of 56 points set last season. Bailey is making the most of his time on the top line with Tavares, proving to be a quality set-up man. While his five goals rank last among the top-20 NHL point producers, his 23 assists tie him for second.
Nov 26 - 6:19 PM

Josh Bailey scored a goal and two assists in a 4-3 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday.

Bailey's overtime winner was one for the highlight reel, thanks to John Tavares's work in earning his assist. Not to be outdone, Bailey assisted on two other Islanders goals on Wednesday night. Bailey has five goals and 26 points in 21 games this season.

Nov 22 - 10:52 PM

Josh Bailey had three assists on Saturday.

It was the third three assist night of the season for Bailey who has struck gold this year for his fantasy owners with four goals and 23 points in 19 games. Bailey had a career high 56 points last season and it looks like he is going to smash that mark by the 55-60 game mark. He is a must-start.
Nov 19 - 8:53 AM

Josh Bailey has reached the 20-point milestone in just 18 games.

Bailey scored a goal and registered an assist on Thursday to get to the 20-point mark. He had a lot of relatively modest offensive seasons, but finally took a big step forward last season with 13 goals and 56 points in 82 games. It seems that the 28-year-old is now playing like the forward the Islanders were hoping for when he was selected with the ninth overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Nov 17 - 8:29 AM

Josh Bailey has earned the NHL's second star of the week for the period ending Nov. 5.

Bailey assisted on seven goals by the Islanders in three games. He is currently riding a career-high, nine-game point streak. Bailey has two goals and 14 helpers during that span.

Nov 6 - 5:28 PM

Josh Bailey upped his scoring streak to nine games Sunday with a pair of assists.

Bailey currently has the longest point streak in the NHL at nine and he has been flying this season on the wing for John Tavares. Bailey has three goals and 18 points in 14 games as he is off to the best start of his career. Grab him if he is still available for any reason in your pool.
Nov 6 - 8:47 AM

Josh Bailey has registered six power-play assists so far this season.

Surprisingly, he is among the league leaders in that department and there is no question he is playing with a tremendous amount of confidence. What is even more amazing is that since the beginning of the 2106-17 season, Bailey has recorded 56 assists, 11th in the NHL. We have never been big backers of Bailey, but he may finally have seen the light. If he is still a free agent in your hockey pool you probably should pick him up.
Nov 4 - 12:15 PM

Josh Bailey's point streak reached eight games on Thursday.

Bailey got two assists in that contest, making it his third multi-point game over his last four contests. That's pushed him up to three goals and 16 points in 13 games this season. He set a career-high with 56 points in 2016-17 and could break that personal best this season.
Nov 3 - 5:10 AM

Josh Bailey registered three assists in the Islanders' 6-3 win over Vegas on Monday.

With that, Bailey's point streak has been extended to seven games. Incredibly, this is the second three-point showing over that stretch. Bailey is up to three goals and 14 points in 12 contests after setting a career-high last season with 56 points.
Oct 31 - 5:29 AM

Josh Bailey will play on the Islanders' first power-play unit Saturday night against Nashville.

Bailey has been hot of late (five-game point streak and 10 points overall) and he has been on the top power-play combination with John Tavares, Anders Lee and Nick Leddy. Mathew Barzal joined the unit at Friday's practice, which made Jordan Eberle the odd man out in this arrangement. Bailey also replaced Eberle alongside Tavares in line rushes during Friday's session.
Oct 28 - 10:52 AM

Josh Bailey collected three assists in a 6-4 loss to Minnesota Thursday night.

Bailey extended his point streak to five games. The red hot forward is up to three goals and 10 points in 10 contests this season. He set a career-high in 2016-17 with 56 points and he might finish around then again this time around.
Oct 27 - 11:33 AM

Josh Bailey was not protected by the Islanders for the expansion draft, but New York may have insured that he stays on their roster.

It's rumored that the Islanders will trade a first-round pick to the Golden Knights, but it isn't clear who that would make Vegas stay away from in the expansion draft. New York also exposed Brock Nelson, Ryan Strome, Calvin de Haan, Thomas Hickey, Scott Mayfield, Shane Prince, Nikolay Kulemin, Jason Chimera, Cal Clutterbuck, Casey Cizikas and Jaroslav Halak. It's believed that Nelson, Strome and de Haan won't be taken, but we won't know for sure until Wednesday. Bailey could be an attractive option for the Golden Knights if he's available.
