Josh Bailey registered his ninth goal of the season as part of a 3-2 win over Edmonton Tuesday night.
Bailey's renaissance playing alongside John Tavares was short-lived and the depth forward was moved down the Islanders pecking order recently. Colin McDonald and Casey Cizikas also scored for the Isles in the win. Feb 10 - 10:28 PM

Josh Bailey had an assist in a 4-2 loss to Florida on Wednesday.

Bailey has eight goals and 23 points in 38 games in 2014-15. He's not likely to do much better from a point-per-game perspective for the remainder of the season.
Feb 4 - 6:19 AM

Josh Bailey had three assists and was a plus-three on Friday.

Bailey has enjoyed his time on the top line this week as he has four assists in three games with Kyle Okposo and John Tavares. Bailey, a former ninth overall pick in 2008 has never had more than 38 points in a season, a feat he accomplished last season, but now has seven goals and 18 points in 32 games with a plus-eight rating. Should he remain on the top unit, get him and put him in your lineup.
Jan 17 - 9:07 AM

Josh Bailey will play left wing next to John Tavares with Kyle Okposo Saturday night against the Blue Jackets.

Bailey had an even strength goal Friday night in the Islanders' come-from-behind win over the Devils. He now has seven goals and 14 points in 29 games this season.
Jan 10 - 6:57 PM

Josh Bailey (upper body) will rejoin the Islanders on Friday.

Bailey missed Tuesday's game due to the ailment. Cal Clutterbuck is dealing with an upper-body injury now, so Bailey's return won't push a healthy player out of the lineup.
Jan 9 - 12:14 PM

Josh Bailey (upper body) was able to fully participate in Thursday's practice.

It remains to be seen if he'll be available for Friday's game. He missed Tuesday's contest, which provided Michael Grabner with an opportunity to reenter the lineup. It's possible that Grabner will be a healthy scratch if Bailey is available, but that's pure speculation at this point.
Jan 9 - 11:04 AM

Josh Bailey is dealing with an upper-body injury.

Bailey won't play on Tuesday and is day-to-day beyond that. He has six goals and 13 points in 28 contests in 2014-15. This is an opportunity for Michael Grabner as he would have otherwise had difficulty reentering the lineup after recovering from a lower-body injury.
Jan 6 - 3:28 PM

Josh Bailey scored a goal in a 5-2 victory against Winnipeg on Wednesday.

Bailey has six goals and 13 points in 26 contests in 2014-15. He can be counted on to maintain something close to that point-per-game pace this season.
Jan 1 - 9:17 AM

Right winger Josh Bailey scored a goal in regulation and in the fifth round of a shootout to lead the New York Islanders to a 3-2, come-from-behind victory over the visiting New Jersey Devils Monday night.

Josh Bailey will return to the lineup on Saturday night against the Blackhawks.

He missed Thursday night's game with a lower body injury but appears to be back ready to go. He's expected to line up to the right of Matt Martin and Ryan Strome on the Isles fourth line.

Josh Bailey has a nagging lower-body injury that will keep him out of Thursday's match against St. Louis.

Consider him day-to-day for now. He has recorded four goals and eight points in 18 games this year. Eric Boulton will draw into the lineup in Bailey's place.

Josh Bailey scored his fourth goal of the season Tuesday, but the Islanders were upended by Minnesota by a score of 5-4.

Bailey had been held without a point for six straight games entering the contest so perhaps the tally will get him started on another hot streak. Michael Grabner, Brock Nelson and Matt Martin all found the back of the net in the defeat.

Josh Bailey will be back in the Islanders' lineup on Tuesday.

Bailey missed the Islanders' previous two games due to an undisclosed injury. He'll help fill the void left by Casey Cizikas' (upper body) absence. Bailey is projected to play alongside Mikhail Grabovski and Frans Nielsen.
Tue, Dec 9, 2014 06:30:00 PM

Josh Bailey returned from a broken hand on Friday and played on the top line with Kyle Okposo and John Tavares.

Bailey replaced Nikolay Kulemin on the line as Kulemin moved to the second unit with Mikhail Grabovski and Frans Nielsen. Bailey set up Tavares for a goal as he forced a Florida turnover and saw Tavares deposit the puck into the net. Bailey has been a disappointment ever since the Islanders took him with the ninth pick of the 2008 Draft but some of that is on the Islanders as they rushed him to the NHL as a 19-year-old rather than letting him develop in junior and the minors. He just turned 25 so there is plenty of time to resurrect his career.

Josh Bailey (hand) will be back in the Islanders' lineup on Friday.

Bailey was activated off of the injured reserve list Thursday, but there was initially some speculation that he might be scratched anyways. That's because Islanders coach Jack Capuano expressed a reluctance to alter his lineup after winning four straight games. Nevertheless, Bailey is expected to play alongside Frans Nielsen and Mikhail Grabovski.
