Josh Bailey (lower body) is "feeling pretty good," according to coach Doug Weight.

However, Bailey doesn't appear to be ready to return to the lineup yet. "We'll get him on the ice tomorrow and see how he feels," said Weight. "He's the only one that would be in anywhere into this week." The Islanders host Boston on Thursday and visit Chicago on Saturday.

Speaking after their blowout win over the New York Rangers, head coach Doug Weight said he expects to see Josh Bailey back on the ice soon.

The injury lists continues to grow for the Islanders and they can now add Casey Cizikas to the list that already includes Calvin de Haan (upper body), Johnny Boychuk (lower body), Nikolay Kulemin (upper body), Josh Bailey (lower body) and Andrew Ladd (lower body). Weight added that of all his injured players, he'd expect to see Bailey back first. The Islanders didn't miss a beat this afternoon without Bailey and his 50 points but they must be itching to reunite him with star center John Tavares.

Josh Bailey left Friday night's 4-0 loss to Pittsburgh with a lower-body injury.

Bailey left the contest in the first period and Islanders coach Doug Weight was not optimistic about a quick return to action. "I don't have a substantial report," Weight said. "Obviously, he didn't return so it's not great. ... I think he looks like I wouldn't expect to see him, but maybe it's a good time for a break." Bailey was just selected as the NHL's second star for the month of December and is tied for second in NHL scoring with 50 points in 39 games. A significant injury to the winger will be a big blow to the Islanders and to all fantasy players who own Bailey. Stay tuned for further updates.
