Kyle Beach scored the game-winning goal in the Rockford IceHogs' 4-1 victory over the Charlotte Checkers.
Beach has seven goals and nine points in 19 AHL games this season. He'd be worth keeping an eye on if he gets a chance to play in the NHL, mostly because he would probably spend a lot of time in the sin bin. He already has 53 penalty minutes in 2012-13. Sun, Dec 2, 2012 06:25:00 PM

Kyle Beach is the AHL Player of the Week.

Beach had three goals and five points in two contests with the Rockford IceHogs. Even if the lockout ends in time to save the 2012-13 campaign, Beach isn't expected to have any fantasy value this season.

Chicago prospect Kyle Beach dislocated his finger in an AHL fight Thursday night.

Beach had a decent chance of making the Hawks out of training camp but did not seize the opportunity. Now in order to play in the NHL, he will not only have to wait for an injury on the Hawks, he will have to recover himself.

The Chicago Blackhawks have sent Kyle Beach to AHL Rockford.

This comes as a bit of surprise as it looked like Beach had a good chance of making the Blackhawks' opening day roster. Regardless, Beach should develop into a great power forward and he's worth rolling the dice on in keeper leagues.

Kyle Beach scored the lone goal for the Blackhawks in Tuesday's 4-1 pre-season loss to the Penguins.

Beach has played well enough this pre-season to get into the conversation for a roster spot. In his prime, he should offer a great combo of points and PIM for fantasy leagues. Hannu Toivinen and Alec Richards split goaltending duties in this contest and combined to allow four goals on 39 shots.

It appears Kyle Beach has an inside track on a lineup spot for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Beach has all the elements needed to be a successful power forward in the NHL. He has the scoring touch to go along with fighting ability. Beach has gotten the attention of coach Joel Quenville on numerous occasions in preseason play. ''[Beach] was trying to be physical, and he was around the puck a lot,'' Quenneville said. ''He had some scoring chances around the net. I think he was OK.'' Beach could be in a dogfight for a pot, but as of now he seems to have locked down the inside track.

Kyle Beach will have to really impress the top brass if he is to make the Blackhawks out of training camp.

It's not that Beach doesn't have enough talent, but his cap hit is high and the Blackhawks want him to play a lot this season. "The thing with Kyle is that it's his first year as a pro, so he needs to play," GM Stan Bowman said. "If he's going to be here, he's going to be here to play. He's not going to be here in and out of the lineup. If he comes in here and makes it impossible to send him to Rockford, then he's going to be in Chicago. But I don't want him here playing limited minutes. He's 20 years old. He's got a bright future. He led the (WHL) in goal-scoring last year. He's shown that he can put the puck in the net. I want him to continue to develop. He's going to be a great player for the Blackhawks. It's a matter of timing. It could be this year, but he needs to play in a continuous role, not in-and-out." Stay tuned.

Look for Kyle Beach to get every opportunity to crack the Chicago lineup in the 2010-11 season.

Beach was drafted 11th overall in the 2008 Entry Draft. He would have went higher based on skill but had problems off-ice that lowered his draft status. Beach had a breakout season with Spokane of the WHL last season with 52 goals, 86 points and 186 penalty minutes in 68 games. Look for him to start on the fourth line in Chicago and pile up penalty minutes and 15-20 points as the Blackhawks bring him along slowly.

Kyle Beach will finish the season with AHL Rockford.

Kyle Beach and Shawn Lalonde were returned to their junior teams.

Beach will play for the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the WHL this season, while Lalonde will suit up for the Belleville Bulls in the OHL. They will have bright futures when they ready to make the jump to the NHL.

Kyle Beach intends on cracking the Chicago Blackhawks lineup out of training camp.

The Blackhawks first round selection in the 2008 Entry Draft, is looked upon as a power forward, something the Blackhawks need. He will probably play in the minors next season as Chicago already have 12 forwards who will make the team, and Beach will need lots of ice time. But the tough winger will probably get a few trials due to injuries and should be in the lineup in time for the start of the 2010-11 season. He is worth grabbing very late in keeper pools this year.

Chicago GM Dale Tallon sees 2008 first round pick Kyle Beach as a potential first line player.

The tough player would fit in nicely with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews as he is tough but has a lot of skill. Stay tuned as he could eventually be an outstanding power forward in the NHL.

The Blackhawks signed 2008 first rounder Kyle Beach to an entry level contract.

It is a three-year deal, but financial details weren't released, although the 11th overall selection was likely signed for the rookie max. He had 24 goals and 63 points in 54 games in the WHL this past season and made his professional debut with the Blackhawks minor league team in April. He will apprentice in the minors next year.

Kyle Beach participated in his first NHL practice, potting a goal in the team's second scrimmage session.

The 11th overall pick in the 2008 draft appears to be fully recovered from the sports hernia surgery he received on April 18. "I've been on the ice for two or three weeks," Beach said. "I'm in the best shape that I can be in the amount of time I have had. Health-wise, I'm 100 percent. Energy-wise [and] strength-wise I'm probably 90 percent." He will look to impress the Hawks during this pre-season, but will likely need more seasoning in the minors.
