Zac Dalpe potted the only goal for the Hurricanes on Saturday night in their 4-1 loss to the Rangers.

Dalpe scored his first goal of the year, in his first game since his latest recall, also recording four shots on goal and four hits. Eric Staal and Jeff Skinner had the helpers. Jordan Staal finished a team-low minus-two.

The Carolina Hurricanes have summoned Zac Dalpe.

Dalpe has 19 goals and 38 points in 48 AHL games this season. He has also registered two assists in seven contests with Carolina in 2013.
Apr 6 - 1:10 PM

Zac Dalpe has been assigned to the minors.

Dalpe has two points in seven games with Carolina this season. It wouldn't be surprising to see him get another stint with the club before the season's over.
Mar 1 - 2:35 PM

The Carolina Hurricanes have called up Zac Dalpe from the minors.

Dalpe has two points in six games with the Hurricanes this season. He also has 18 goals and 36 points in 45 AHL contests in 2012-13.
Feb 25 - 6:15 PM

Zac Dalpe has been returned to the minors by the Carolina Hurricanes.

Dalpe has two assists in six games with Carolina this season. We wouldn't be surprised if he ends up working his way back onto the Hurricanes' roster before the 2013 campaign is over.
Feb 4 - 8:48 AM

Zac Dalpe will skate on Carolina's second line Saturday against Florida.

Dalpe played well over 38 games with Charlotte of the AHL this season, registering 28 points and will get the chance to skate with Jordan Staal and Jeff Skinner. The 23-year-old has had two cups of coffee in the NHL but over 31 games has only seven points to his name. As we advised with respect to Zach Boychuk, take a wait and see approach before investing in Dalpe.
Jan 19 - 9:12 AM

Zac Dalpe skated with Jordan Staal and Jeff Skinner on Wednesday.

The combination also played together during Tuesday's scrimmage. GM Jim Rutherford said Dalpe could be the running for a roster spot when he joined the team earlier this week. Coach Kirk Muller was quick to caution on Wednesday that any lines on display at camp are not "set in stone."
Jan 17 - 9:20 AM

Zac Dalpe wasn't among Carolina's first group of call-ups, but he still could be a part of the Hurricanes' roster when the regular season begins Saturday.

"Dalpe's been one of the best players in Charlotte," GM Jim Rutherford said. "Who knows, by the end of the week he could be in the starting lineup for opening night." He had three points in 12 games with Carolina last season and has been productive for AHL Charlotte this campaign, while racking up 13 goals and 28 points in 38 contests.
Jan 15 - 9:44 AM

Zac Dalpe has been recalled from Charlotte of the AHL and is participating in the Hurricanes' shortened training camp this week.

Dalpe didn't exactly lit it up in the AHL during the lockout but he should still develop into a solid NHL player in time. Dalpe has stuck around with the Hurricanes out of training camp each of the last two years, but he ended up playing only 31 NHL games combined over that time. He is on the final year of his entry-level deal and wants to prove himself ready for full-time NHL duty.

Zac Dalpe potted a pair of goals in Charlotte's 4-0 shutout of Lake Erie on Friday night.

Dalpe may never wind up as a top-line forward, but he should develop into a solid NHL player in time. He hasn't exactly lit it up in the AHL, either, with 10 goals and 11 assists in 34 games but perhaps this will get him going. Riley Nash had a goal and two assists, while Justin Faulk had a helper.
Jan 4 - 10:14 PM

Zac Dalpe scored twice in a span of 2:16 early in the third period to lift the Charlotte Checkers past San Antonio 4-3 Friday night.

Dalpe, who spent some time with the Hurricanes last season, is as hot as anyone in the AHL lately. He's got 5 points in his last three games and is playing on a point-per-game pace in the early goings of the season.

Zac Dalpe is determined to find his way onto the permanent roster of the Carolina Hurricanes and since the NHL is closed for business due to the lockout, he will focus his attention on playing well for AHL Charlotte.

"It's kind of unfortunate the way things are working out (with the lockout), but as far as hockey is concerned it probably is the biggest year of my career," he said. "It's take or break for me. You've got to take the good with the bad, I guess. I'll go down to the American League and I want to have a good year. And I want the team to have a good year, too, because I think we owe to ourselves and Charlotte to rebound from last year." Dalpe has stuck around with the Hurricanes out of training camp each of the last two years, but he ended up playing only 31 NHL games combined over that time. He is on the final year of his entry-level deal and wants to prove himself ready for full-time NHL duty.

Zac Dalpe was assigned to the minors on Tuesday.

In his latest stint with the Hurricanes, Dalpe earned one assist in three games to give him three points in 16 NHL appearances this season. He'll probably be back up with the team after the All-Star break.
Wed, Jan 25, 2012 07:41:00 AM

Zac Dalpe is projected to play alongside Jeff Skinner and Jussi Jokinen on Friday.

Dalpe only has two points in 13 games with Carolina this season, but he might have some short term value while he's playing on that line. Dalpe might also get some playing time on the Hurricanes' top power-play unit.
