Tyler Ennis (groin) is returning to the Sabres' lineup on Monday.

Tyler Ennis (groin) practiced Monday and he is close to getting back in the lineup.

"It was a good practice, some hard work," Ennis said. "I'm just trying to get the compete level up, get those battle drills in and get the body back to game readiness. I'm getting close. I just need a few more sessions like that and just continue to get better. I'm excited to get going." When he is ready to return, he may play alongside Ryan O'Reilly and Kyle Okposo. Ennis may get back in the fold sometime this week.

Tyler Ennis (groin) could start practicing with the Sabres soon.

Ennis hasn't been in the Sabres lineup since Nov. 7, but he has been skating in the last few days. "He’s done some skating back here," head coach Dan Bylsma said. "He skated this morning on his own and joined us for what’s essentially a morning-skate type of practice. We should be seeing him in practice now going forward." There's still no timetable for his return.

Joining Ennis (groin) are Dmitry Kulikov (lower back), Johan Larsson (wrist, elbow), Ryan O'Reilly (appendectomy), and Cody McCormick (blood clots). Ennis has played in only 12 games this season, picking up two points. He has no fantasy value at this time. The Sabres do not have any 'healthy' scratches for their game tonight.

That being said, the Sabres have cautioned that Ennis still has a lot of work to do before he'll be ready to return to the Sabres' lineup.
