Adam had eight goals and 22 points in 46 AHL contests in 2014-15. He became an unrestricted free agent after Columbus decided against making him a qualifying offer.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have sent Luke Adam to the minors.

Adam was recalled on an emergency basis Monday when the Blue Jackets had a slew of possible injuries but was returned on Saturday. The former Sabre was acquired from Buffalo in December for Jerry D'Amigo and played three games this week, picking up a couple of minors.

The move isn't surprising after Jared Boll left practice early on Monday. Alexander Wennberg is also uncertain for Tuesday due to an undisclosed ailment. Adam was acquired from Buffalo in December for Jerry D'Amigo.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired Luke Adam from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Jerry D'Amigo.

Adam has eight goals and 20 points in 27 AHL games this season. He managed to score 10 goals and 20 points in 52 contests with the Buffalo Sabres in 2011-12, but he's struggled to secure a spot on the Sabres' roster since then. Adam is just 24 years old though and the change in scenery might help him as he tries to work his way back into the NHL.

Adam had 29 goals and 49 points in 59 AHL games in 2013-14. He also played in 12 contests with Buffalo, but was limited to just one point. If he clears waivers, he'll be sent to the minors.

The Buffalo Sabres have signed center Luke Adam to a one-year, two-way contract.

Adam, 24, played in 12 games with the Sabres in 2013-14. He scored one goal. He scored a team-leading 29 goals and added 20 assists in 59 games with the American Hockey League's Rochester Americans. A second-round choice (44th overall) by Buffalo in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Adam has appeared in 87 career games as a Sabres player and has notched 15 goals and 11 assists.

Adam has 24 goals and 42 points in 42 games this season. He's worth keeping an eye on as he might have some fantasy value in 2014-15. We can't recommend picking him up at the moment though.

Sabre forward Luke Adam may be someone to watch going forward.

He was tied for the AHL lead in goals scored when he was called up by Buffalo on November 19th and although he had not registered a point in his first three games with the Sabres, he was Buffalo's best player Friday night against Toronto. He scored a goal and had many more scoring chances. Keep an eye on Adam as he may be worthy of a pick up in deeper pools.

Luke Adam is expected to suit up in his third game with Buffalo on Wednesday.

He has no points, two shots and two hits in his previous two NHL outings this year, while averaging 12:24 of ice time. "A lot of things go through these younger players minds when they get called up. My biggest thing is try to make the comfortable with what they do and up their tempo a little bit," interim coach Ted Nolan said. "Luke has some natural ability that a lot of us would like to have. We've just got to up the speed level to the National Hockey League level." Adam has 13 goals and 18 points in 15 contests with AHL Rochester.
