"I have a lot of confidence in these guys, I'm telling you," said Roy. "Mitchy is playing really well with Cody and Jack." Mitchell has scored in each of Colorado's first two games, while Skille and McLeod have contributed one assist apiece. The trio plays against the other team's top lines and Mitchell sees time on the power play as well.

John Mitchell has played well on the wing alongside Jarome Iginla and Matt Duchene for the past two games.

He scored the game-winning goal against Calgary on Saturday and he had an assist in last Thursday's shootout win versus New Jersey. Mitchell has played all three forward positions, so he's comfortable switching to where he is needed.

He replaced Jordan Caron on the combination and earned an assist on Iginla's 22nd goal of the year. Mitchell has seven goals and 20 points in 54 games.
