Tampa Bay netminder Cedrick Desjardins allowed three goals on 24 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Jets on Sunday.

With Anders Lindback sidelined due to an ankle injury, Desjardins got the nod over Mathieu Garon in the team's first game after relieving coach Guy Boucher of his duties. Look for Garon to be between the pipes in the team's next outing.

Cedrick Desjardins has been called up by the Lightning.

With Anders Lindback out indefinitely with an ankle injury, he'll join Tampa Bay and work as Mathieu Garon's backup. Desjardins has posted a 5-2-1 record with a 1.71 goals-against average and .933 save percentage with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch since being acquired from Montreal.

Tampa Bay Lightning demote Cedrick Desjardins to AHL Syracuse.

Desjardins was recalled when goalie Mathieu Garon was injured. He started one game, making 25 saves in a 4-3 loss to the Canadiens on Saturday night. We imagine this means Garon is ready to return to action as Anders Lindback's backup.

Cedrick Desjardins made 25 saves in Tampa Bay's 4-3 loss to the Canadiens on Saturday night.

It was Desjardins' first start of the season ... and it was going really well, until the last 20 minutes. The Lightning are finding every way to lose games right now. Not even a 3-1 advantage entering the third period was enough. Desjardins was 15-for-16 in the first two periods, then gave up three on 13 shots in the third. Tampa Bay has one win in its last eight games.

Cedrick Desjardins will get the start against Montreal Saturday night.

With Mathieu Garon injured and Anders Lindback's inconsistent play, Lightning coach Guy Boucher may be playing a hunch that the New Brunswick native, who probably was a Canadiens' fan growing up, will rise to the occasion. Adjust your goaltending rotation accordingly.

Tampa Bay Lightning recall Cedrick Desjardins from AHL Syracuse.

Mathieu Garon left Monday's game with a lower-body injury and it's unclear how long he'll be sidelined. The Lightning acquired Desjardins in a minor-league trade with Montreal on Feb. 14. In six starts for Syracuse, Desjardins is 4-2-0 with a 1.85 GAA and .928 save percentage. He'll back up Anders Lindback for as long as Garon is out and carries no fantasy value.
Mar 5 - 12:41 PM

Cedrick Desjardins has been traded by Montreal to Tampa Bay for fellow minor-league goalie Dustin Tokarski.

Desjardins played the majority of the 2010-11 season with Tampa's AHL affiliate, but he did appear in two games with the Lightning. In 22 games with Montreal's minor-league team in Hamilton this season, he posted a 7-13-2 record with a 2.94 GAA and a .905 save percentage.

Cedrick Desjardins has been waived by the Montreal Canadiens.

Desjardins has a 3.10 GAA and .898 save percentage in 15 AHL games. He might get called up if Carey Price or Peter Budaj get hurt.
Jan 13 - 1:59 PM

Cedrick Desjardins had a miserable night in net, allowing six goals in Hamilton's 6-0 loss to Toronto on Wednesday.

He faced only 19 shots on goal. The 27-year-old seems destined to be a career minor leaguer. A 3.10 goals-against average and .898 save percentage will do nothing to improve his stock as a potential backup in Montreal.
Jan 2 - 9:48 PM

Hamilton goaltender Cedrick Dejardins posted his first shutout and third victory of the season against Abbotsford on Saturday.

Desjardins was hoping to challenge Peter Budaj for Montreal's backup role at training camp but he's in the AHL right now with the Bulldogs. Unless Carey Price gets injured in an actual NHL season, Desjardins has little to no fantasy value.

Cedrick Desjardins was hoping to challenge Peter Budaj for Montreal's backup role at training camp.

Budaj has one year remaining on his contract, so Desjardins may get an opportunity to step in as Carey Price's backup soon. He signed an AHL deal because of the NHL lockout and projects to see plenty of action with the Hamilton Bulldogs this campaign. Desjardins has started two games in his career at the NHL level and he won them both as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2010-11.

The Montreal Canadiens added to their goaltending depth by handing Cedrick Desjardins a two-way contract.

Peter Budaj is under contract for one more year and Carey Price is expected to sign long-term, but Desjardins could earn himself some NHL starts or at least get himself in line for a backup job if things go well.

Cedrick Desjardins has been sent down by the Colorado Avalanche.

Desjardins was serving as Semyon Varlamov's understudy while Jean-Sebastien Giguere was out with a groin injury. However, Giguere is healthy enough to backup Varlamov on Wednesday, so Desjardins' services are no longer needed.
