Taylor Chorney will be a healthy scratch in Monday night's game against Montreal.

He's been limited to just eight games this season, so his scratching is far from a surprise. He has one goal, one assist, a plus-3 rating and four penalty minutes in 2016-17. He shouldn't be on your fantasy radar. Paul Carey will join him in the press box.

Taylor Chorney may be the new Babe Ruth as he called his shot before the start of the third period.

Chorney, who had only two career goals in 129 games going into Sunday's match scored the winner at 2:43 of the third. He has been a healthy scratch most of the season and it was only his seventh game of the year. Defenseman Karl Alzner spilled the beans after the game about Chorney calling his shot. "I was just joking," Chorney said of telling his teammates that he felt a game-winner coming. "I wasn’t expecting to score, but I did. When we walked out, I said, ‘It would be nice to get the first of the year on a game-winner.’ It just worked out." He must be a great teammate as the rest of the Capitals were thrilled for him. Despite the called shot, Chorney has no fantasy value but could be a good sidekick for the Amazing Kreskin.

Look for Taylor Chorney to be scratched Sunday.

The Capitals have used Chorney in only two games this season. The defenseman has one assist thus far but obviously sits way too much to be thought of in fantasy hockey.

Coach Barry Trotz was pleased with Taylor Chorney's seasonal debut Friday.

Chorney finally got into a game after being a healthy scratch for the Capitals first 12 games. "I thought he was really good," Trotz said. "There are some things…we talked about gap control and stuff like that, that you can’t replicate necessarily in a practice situation. I thought he adjusted pretty well in a pretty [tough] environment." Chorney sat out again Saturday but could get back in the lineup sooner rather than later. That being said, he has no fantasy value.
