Look for Taylor Chorney to be scratched Sunday.

The Capitals have used Chorney in only two games this season. The defenseman has one assist thus far but obviously sits way too much to be thought of in fantasy hockey.
Nov 20 - 10:10 AM

Coach Barry Trotz was pleased with Taylor Chorney's seasonal debut Friday.

Chorney finally got into a game after being a healthy scratch for the Capitals first 12 games. "I thought he was really good," Trotz said. "There are some things…we talked about gap control and stuff like that, that you can’t replicate necessarily in a practice situation. I thought he adjusted pretty well in a pretty [tough] environment." Chorney sat out again Saturday but could get back in the lineup sooner rather than later. That being said, he has no fantasy value.
Nov 14 - 10:34 AM

Taylor Chorney made his season debut Friday night against Chicago.

He picked up two shots and logged 13:31 of ice time in Washington's 3-2 overtime win. The Capitals scratched Nate Schmidt to give Chorney his first game action of the year.
Nov 12 - 9:36 AM

Taylor Chorney is likely to make his season debut sometime in the next four games, according to coach Barry Trotz.

The Capitals start a four-game road trip at Edmonton on Wednesday night. Chorney has been a healthy scratch for the first five games after he played in 55 games last season.
Oct 25 - 4:21 PM

Taylor Chorney played in a career high 55 games with Washington last season.

"I think I did pretty well," he said. "Heading into the year you don't really know, on a new team, exactly where your place is gonna be, and it's just different. But I think as the year went on I did a pretty good job of earning more and more trust from the coaching staff and from my teammates, and I think by the end of the year I was playing some pretty good hockey. It's just too bad that it got cut a little short." He posted six points in his first season as a member of the Capitals and he had one helper in seven playoff outings. Chorney got a two-year contract extension in February and will likely enter the 2016-17 campaign as a depth defender.
Jun 9 - 11:31 AM

Taylor Chorney is projected to be paired with Dmitry Orlov in Game 6 on Tuesday night.

With Brooks Orpik ready to return from his suspension and Chorney in the fold, it is expected that defensemen Nate Schmidt and Mike Weber will be scratched. Chorney has one assist in six postseason outings.
May 10 - 6:08 PM

May 5 - 11:20 AM

Taylor Chorney will be a healthy scratch in Game 1 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Chorney was part of Washington's top-six defensemen at the morning skate, but Brooks Orpik (upper body) is ready to make a return to the lineup. Mike Weber, Stanislav Galiev and Michael Latta will also watch the game from the press box.
Apr 28 - 7:53 PM

Taylor Chorney might draw into Game 1 on Thursday.

It will depend on Brooks Orpik's ability to return from an upper-body injury in time for the series opener. If Orpik is available for Thursday's contest against Pittsburgh, then Chorney will be a healthy scratch.
Apr 28 - 3:47 PM

Taylor Chorney, Michael Latta and Stanislav Galiev will be healthy scratches in Game 6 against Philadelphia.

Chorney is coming out of the lineup for Mike Weber. The 28-year-old had an unfortunate incident occur in Game 5, as Phiadelphia's game-winning goal went off his skate and in the Washington net.
Apr 24 - 12:13 PM

Taylor Chorney will suit up in Wednesday's contest against Philadelphia.

He has been a healthy scratch for the first three games of Round 1, but he will get to play in Game 4 because of an upper-body injury to Brooks Orpik.
Apr 20 - 12:43 PM

Taylor Chorney will probably draw into the lineup for Game 4.

The Capitals enter the game with a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. A win on Monday would really solidify their odds of advancing to the second round.
