Jamie McGinn has signed a two-year extension with the Avalanche.

Financial terms weren't disclosed. He had a salary cap hit of $1.75 million in his last two-year contract. "Jamie is coming off a very good season and played an important role for our team," said Avalanche Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Joe Sakic. "We're excited to have him under contract for another two years." During the 2013-14 campaign, he generated 19 goals and 19 assists.
Jun 19 - 6:32 PM

Jamie McGinn scored a goal and registered an assist in Colorado's 5-4 overtime loss to Minnesota Wednesday night.

McGinn ended his season with two points and he had five points overall in the playoffs. He played his best season yet in the NHL and he is looking to continue his strong performances next season also. Erik Johnson, Nick Holden and Paul Stastny also scored a goal for the Avalanche, while Matt Duchene and PA Parenteau both added two helpers in the loss.
May 1 - 3:21 AM

Jamie McGinn scored a goal and added an assist for the Avalanche in a 6-3 loss to Montreal Tuesday night.

McGinn has been relatively disappointing with 32 points in 66 games this season, but he has picked it up of late with six points in his last four contests. Nathan MacKinnon and Maxime Talbot also scored goals for Colorado in the loss while Matt Duchene dished out a pair of helpers.
Mar 18 - 11:53 PM

Jamie McGinn scored two goals in Colorado's 6-4 loss to Anaheim Friday evening.

McGinn's power-play goal at 5:21 of the period put the Avalanche ahead 2-1, but the lead didn't last long. He now has 19 goals and 12 assists in 64 games. McGinn is currently playing on a line alongside Matt Duchene and Ryan O'Reilly so he could be a good pick up in fantasy leagues. John Mitchell and Gabriel Landeskog each had strong games with a goal and an assist while Ryan O'Reilly registered two helpers in the loss.
Mar 15 - 3:09 AM

Jamie McGinn has been moved up to play with Matt Duchene and Ryan O'Reilly.

He received the promotion because of P.A. Parenteau's injury. McGinn picked up an assist on Duchene's 22nd goal of the season in a 3-2 win over Chicago on Wednesday night. He has 27 points in 63 matches.

Mar 13 - 11:20 AM

Jamie McGinn had a goal and an assist in Colorado's high-scoring loss to Los Angeles on Wednesday.

He scored both of his points on the power play to help the Avalanche build a 4-2 lead, but they ended up losing the contest 6-4. McGinn has 26 points in 56 games this season, but playing alongside Matt Duchene and Ryan O'Reilly gives him some fantasy value.
Feb 27 - 12:59 PM

Jamie McGinn continues to get minutes on Colorado's top line alongside Matt Duchene and Ryan O'Reilly.

Not a bad place to be, if you ask us. As long as McGinn can keep this gig, he is a rosterable fantasy player. The Avalanche are icing the following other lines: Gabriel Landeskog-Paul Stastny-P.A. Parenteau and John Mitchell - Nathan MacKinnon - Max Talbot. Adjust your fantasy roster accordingly.
Feb 8 - 1:03 PM

Jamie McGinn produced two goals and an assist in Colorado's dominating 7-1 win against Buffalo on Saturday.

He has scored four times and he's added two helpers in his past five games to give him 23 points on the year. Super rookie Nathan MacKinnon notched a goal and two assists in Saturday's contest, while Gabriel Landeskog had a pair of markers. Erik Johnson picked up three helpers and Ryan O'Reilly had two.

Jamie McGinn has registered four goals in his past five games.

He has been getting more ice time in an elevated role since P.A. Parenteau was injured and he's been taking advantage of it. Getting to play with Matt Duchene has helped his cause as well. McGinn has 10 goals and 15 points in 40 games this year.

Jan 10 - 9:24 AM

Jamie McGinn is on a three game goal scoring streak.

McGinn hasn't been terribly effective in standard leagues this season and even factoring in his current outburst, he still has just 14 points in 38 contests. That being said, he has been getting regular minutes with Matt Duchene lately, so he's not a terrible guy to take a chance on in standard leagues in the hope that that duo sticks together.

Jan 5 - 9:20 AM

Jamie McGinn has scored a goal in each of his past two games.

He's taking advantage of his chance to play with Matt Duchene, who has assisted on both of his markers. McGinn has eight goals and 13 points in 37 games, but he's worth considering if waiver options are scare or if you feeling like taking a flier on somebody.

Jan 3 - 9:08 AM

Colorado coach Patrick Roy shuffled his lines after P.A. Parenteau left Sunday night's game with an apparent serious knee injury.

Jamie McGinn was moved up to the top line with Matt Duchene and Ryan O'Reilly, and Nathan MacKinnon played in place of Parenteau on right wing with Paul Stastny and Gabe Landeskog on the second unit. If Parenteau is out of action for a lenghty period and McGinn plays well and can keep this gig, he is well worth a waiver claim.

McGinn's goal, his fifth of the season, was Colorado's only goal in its 3-1 loss to the Canucks in Vancouver.
