Vancouver GM Jim Benning wants to re-sign restricted free agent Yannick Weber.

Weber had a great second half of the season and ended the season with 11 goals and 21 points although he was held pointless in the post-season. "I thought in the second half of the year, Yannick really stepped up for us," said Benning. "He had a really good offensive year. He was a player who got his shot through and he ended up giving us that element of a scoring defenseman. So I know he’s excited about the way the last half of the year ended up for him. We’re going to get him signed and he’s going to come back and, hopefully, he can continue where he left off."
May 2 - 9:00 AM

Yannick Weber has certainly taken advantage of injuries to the blueline this season and has five goals and eight points on the power play.

Weber has been a stud over the last month with the man-advantage as he has scored four times and added a couple of helpers. The league-leaders in the last month are Jamie Benn, Brian Gionta and Erik Karlsson with eight points so you see how impressive Weber's numbers are. He has 11 goals and 21 points in 64 games this season.
Apr 11 - 9:23 AM

Yannick Weber ended his six-game goal drought with a pair of power play goals spread less than two minutes apart during Thursday's 5-0 win over Edmonton.

Though inconsistently so, it's been a career season for the 26 year old Weber. He's now posted 11 goals and 21 points in 64 games this season, including five goals and eight points with the man advantage. For his career, Weber has now recorded 20 goals and 61 points over 227 games.
Apr 10 - 2:13 AM

Yannick Weber, yes, Yannick Weber, is now the proud owner of a three-game goal scoring streak, as well as a four-game point scoring streak with his goal on Thursday night. However it would be Vancouver's only tally during Thursdays' 4-1 loss to Colorado.

After taking a lead pass from Henrik Sedin, Weber simply entered the zone on the right wing and blast one past Reto Berra just 15 seconds into the third period. The point pushed Weber to a new career high in points with 19. Weber has been quite productive during point streak, tallying three goals, five points, three blocks, and 11 hits while skating over 18 minutes a night on average during his streak. If you need some depth on the blue line, consider Weber while he's hot. He now has nine goals and 19 points through 57 games this season.
Mar 27 - 1:28 AM

Yannick Weber scored a goal and an assist in Sunday's 3-1 win over Arizona.

This is Weber's third two-point effort of the season. The 26-year-old opened the scoring at the 14:23 mark of the first period and he picked up the primary assist on Alex Edler's game-winning goal. Weber now has seven goals and 17 points in 55 games this season. Henrik Sedin scored the empty net goal to ice the game for the Canucks.
Mar 22 - 10:46 PM

Yannick Weber is expected to be in the Vancouver lineup Saturday.

Weber was hurt a week ago as he suffered an upper body injury. Weber has six goals and 14 points this season so we really cannot recommend him at this time.
Mar 14 - 10:23 AM

Yannick Weber (upper body injury) will be sidelined for Monday's contest with the Anaheim Ducks.

Weber was able to play 13:55 minutes in Saturday's game in San Jose but will be unable to dress Monday night. He will be replaced by Chris Tanev who has been out for the past 10 games due to a concussion. In 50 games this season, Weber has posted six goals and eight assist and is considered day-to-day.
Mar 9 - 8:15 PM

Yannick Weber scored a goal and an assist in Vancouver's 6-5 shootout win over St. Louis.

This was a wild game. The Canucks were up 5-2 with less than 14 minutes remaining before the Blues scored three unanswered goals to force overtime. Weber had just one point in his last 10 games coming into this game, so the Canucks will appreciate his offensive contribution. Nick Bonino, Radim Vrbata and Chris Higgins all scored in the shootout to give the Canucks the win. Weber has six goals and 14 points in 47 games this season.
Mar 2 - 12:32 AM

Yannick Weber is expected to be scratched again on Saturday night against Calgary.

Through 40 games this season, Weber has two goals, seven points, 14 PIMs, 37 blocks and hits. Not much fantasy value, there.
Feb 14 - 7:30 PM

Yannick Weber will be scratched against Boston on Friday night.

Feb 13 - 8:39 PM

Yannick Weber will be a healthy scratch Wednesday night against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Weber had skated in the last three games but will give way to Adam Clendening Wednesday night in Chicago. The 26-year-old Swiss native has four goals and seven assists with 14 penalty minutes in 40 games played this year, but has just a goal and assist in his 11 games played.
Feb 11 - 7:13 PM

Yannick Weber will be on the ice Monday night when the Wild take on the Vancouver Canucks.

Weber will replace Adam Clendening and be back on the blue line after being scratched for the Cancuks last game. Weber has two goals and nine assists in 49 games this year and does not have any fantasy value even when he’s in the lineup.
Feb 9 - 8:10 PM

Yannick Weber scored a power play goal on Friday.

The Canucks have not been scoring with the man-advantage but they managed to do so twice against the Sabres as Nick Bonino also found the back of the net. Weber scored his fourth goal of the season and it couldn't have come at a better time as the Canucks acquired Adam Clendening earlier in the day and Weber was one name being bandied about as a possible healthy scratch on Sunday.
Jan 31 - 10:38 AM

Yannick Weber to be scratched again Monday night against the Panthers.

Weber will be missing his second straight game Monday after suiting up in 35 games in the 2014-2015 season. He has three goals and seven points from the blue line but the Canucks have been comfortable with Luca Sbisa and Ryan Stanton as their third pairing recently. Also scratched for the Canucks is 21-year-old defenseman Frank Corrado.
