Larry Brooks of the New York Post believes that Nick Holden might be used as trade bait for the Rangers.
New York is in the market for depth down the middle, so if Holden is moved then a center would be the desired return. It would also free up a spot on what is shaping up to be a crowded defense group going into training camp. Holden recorded 11 goals and 34 points in 80 games last year. Jul 26 - 6:00 PM

Nick Holden found the back of the net in Thursday’s 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators.

After dropping the first two games of the series in Ottawa, the Rangers have managed to tie the series up at two. Holden opened the scoring at 14:04 mark of the opening period and the Rangers never looked back. The Rangers haven’t been very good on home ice throughout the season, but they’ve been remarkably good at Madison Square Garden in Game 3 and 4. Holden has one goal and one assist in nine games this postseason. Oscar Lindberg (twice) and Chris Kreider also scored for the Rangers. Game 5 will be played in Ottawa on Saturday afternoon.

Nick Holden indeed was a healthy scratch Sunday.

It was the first time this season that Holden was in the press box without an injury. Coach Alain Vigneault went with Kevin Klein instead of Holden who had 11 goals and 34 points in 80 games this season but struggled in Games 1 and 2. "I thought right-handed, left-handed might make it easier for us as far as moving the puck," Vigneault said. "We didn’t start with the puck very much in the first two periods, and we had a lot of turnovers. You have to manage the puck well against a team like this and we’re not doing it well enough right now."

Larry Brooks of the New York Post wonders if Nick Holden should be removed from the Rangers lineup for Game 3.

Holden, according to Brooks, is having trouble with the rough style of playoff hockey as his forte is skating and his mobility but the Canadiens series has been more rough-and-tumble, not his strengths. Holden has struggled in the first two games so it should be interesting to see what coach Alain Vigneault does for Game 3.

Nick Holden (undisclosed) will rest on Wednesday.

He is dealing with some "bumps and bruises" so he won't play against Washington. The Rangers have six regulars out of the lineup for the match, but it's believed that they all could play if they had to and they will be ready for Game 1 of the playoffs.

Nick Holden has two goals and nine assists in his first 22 games.

Holden had a very good rookie season in 2013-14 with 10 goals and 25 points in only 54 games with Colorado but has not come very close to that point production ever since. But he has started off with a bang in New York and his plus-11 rating makes him an excellent waiver wire candidate at this time in almost every league.

Nick Holden will skate on the top defense pairing with Ryan McDonagh on Monday night.

Nick Holden ended his second consecutive 19-game goal drought of the season during Thursday's 4-2 loss to Philadelphia.

Well that's a stat you don't see every day. Holden has picked up just one point during his latest goal drought as well. He now stands at five goals and 21 points this season. He has just three points in 22 games since the All-Star break.

Nick Holden is fine to play Tuesday night versus Vancouver.

He sustained two black eyes from a fractured nose that required six stitches and glue to repair after he was struck in the face by Drew Stafford's stick on Saturday. Stafford was given a one-game suspension for the incident and Holden will sport a full plastic face cage.
