Boston has acquired Nick Holden from the New York Rangers in exchange for Rob O'Gara and a 2018 third-round pick.

Holden can become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. He has three goals and 12 points in 55 games this campaign. Holden will provide the Bruins with some additional depth on the back end. He posted career highs in 2016-17 with 11 goals and 34 points in 80 contests.

Nick Holden scored his first goal of the season on Saturday.

Holden is currently playing on the first defense pairing with Ryan McDonagh and if he can maintain that gig, he won't be a healthy scratch any more. It was his first point of the season in his 10th game and while he had a great season last year with 11 goals and 34 points to go with a plus-13 rating, he has been far from fantasy-worthy in 2017-18. Hopefully he will reward his loyal owners with some points in the next few games.

Nick Holden and Steven Kampfer will play Tuesday night.

They were both in the lineup for Sunday's win over Montreal when the Rangers dressed seven defensemen. Brendan Smith was a healthy scratch for the match and he won't play again against St. Louis. Tony DeAngelo will also head to the press box.

It looks as if Nick Holden and Steven Kampfer will once again be healthy scratches.

Judging by Friday's practice it looks as if neither rearguard will dress against the Maple Leafs Saturday night. Needless to say, Holden and Kampfer have no fantasy value.

The New York Rangers will scratch Nick Holden and Steven Kampfer for opening night against the Colorado Avalanche.

The Rangers haven't made any changes to the lines they've been practicing all week with. In addition to the defensive pair, Jesper Fast will also miss the contest due to a hip injury.

Larry Brooks of the New York Post believes that Nick Holden might be used as trade bait for the Rangers.

New York is in the market for depth down the middle, so if Holden is moved then a center would be the desired return. It would also free up a spot on what is shaping up to be a crowded defense group going into training camp. Holden recorded 11 goals and 34 points in 80 games last year.

Nick Holden found the back of the net in Thursday’s 4-1 win over the Ottawa Senators.

After dropping the first two games of the series in Ottawa, the Rangers have managed to tie the series up at two. Holden opened the scoring at 14:04 mark of the opening period and the Rangers never looked back. The Rangers haven’t been very good on home ice throughout the season, but they’ve been remarkably good at Madison Square Garden in Game 3 and 4. Holden has one goal and one assist in nine games this postseason. Oscar Lindberg (twice) and Chris Kreider also scored for the Rangers. Game 5 will be played in Ottawa on Saturday afternoon.

Nick Holden indeed was a healthy scratch Sunday.

It was the first time this season that Holden was in the press box without an injury. Coach Alain Vigneault went with Kevin Klein instead of Holden who had 11 goals and 34 points in 80 games this season but struggled in Games 1 and 2. "I thought right-handed, left-handed might make it easier for us as far as moving the puck," Vigneault said. "We didn’t start with the puck very much in the first two periods, and we had a lot of turnovers. You have to manage the puck well against a team like this and we’re not doing it well enough right now."

Larry Brooks of the New York Post wonders if Nick Holden should be removed from the Rangers lineup for Game 3.

Holden, according to Brooks, is having trouble with the rough style of playoff hockey as his forte is skating and his mobility but the Canadiens series has been more rough-and-tumble, not his strengths. Holden has struggled in the first two games so it should be interesting to see what coach Alain Vigneault does for Game 3.

Nick Holden (undisclosed) will rest on Wednesday.

He is dealing with some "bumps and bruises" so he won't play against Washington. The Rangers have six regulars out of the lineup for the match, but it's believed that they all could play if they had to and they will be ready for Game 1 of the playoffs.

Nick Holden picked up a goal and an assist in Friday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Holden's second-period, power play goal cut the Penguins' lead to 2-1. He then helped set up Chris Kreider's game-tying goal with just 12 seconds remaining in regulation. Holden finished the game with two penalty minutes and three shots on goal in 20:42 of ice time. Holden has 11 goals and 23 assists in 78 games.
