Jeff Zatkoff has been sent down to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Jeff Zatkoff has been summoned from the minors.

It looks he's being brought up to serve as Tomas Vokoun's backup for Thursday night's game. Marc-Andre Fleury hasn't been ruled out to fill that position, but Zatkoff will probably occupy that role in his place.

Jeff Zatkoff has been placed on waivers by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Zatkoff has a 2.21 GAA and .911 save percentage in 23 AHL games this season. Barring an injury to Marc-Andre Fleury or Tomas Vokoun, Zatkoff is expected to spend the remainder of the 2012-13 campaign in the minors.

Jeff Zatkoff has signed an AHL deal with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to allow him to play in the minors during the NHL lockout.

He appeared in 44 games with the Manchester Monarchs last campaign, while compiling a 21-17-1 record with a .920 save percentage, a 2.49 goals-against average and three shutouts. Zatkoff is yet to play in the NHL and he will likely battle Brad Thiessen for starts in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this year.

Jeff Zatkoff has left the Kings and signed a two-year contract with the Penguins.

Zatkoff was a standout with Manchester of the AHL last season but he was behind both Jonathan Quick and Jonathan Bernier in Los Angeles. We are not sure he bettered his position much as he now is behind Marc-Andre Fleury, Tomas Vokoun and on par with Brad Thiessen. It looks as if Jonathan Bernier won't be moving in a deal anytime soon.

Jeff Zatkoff stopped all 28 shots as the Manchester Monarchs shut out Springfield 3-0 Friday.

The 24-year-old netminder could find himself in Los Angeles next season as the backup goalie, especially if the Kings decide to trade Jonathan Bernier to get some offensive help. Stay tuned.
