Byron Bitz (hip) returned to action on Friday February 24.

Byron Bitz (hip) said he felt good after he skated on Wednesday, but he isn't sure if he will play Thursday against Detroit.

"I got back out there today and felt pretty good," Bitz said. "I'm not really concerned. It's nothing related (to previous injuries). It's not in my hip joint, not a sports hernia. It's just a sore hip flexor from the amount of volume (of skating). I missed a lot of time and then it's every second day at a high pace. It's kind of par for the course." Bitz has picked up four points, 14 hits and 14 penalty minutes in seven games with the Canucks.

Byron Bitz will not be in the Canucks lineup against Edmonton Sunday night.

Bitz is nursing some soreness in his hip flexor and will be replaced by Dale Weise. Adjust your lineups accordingly.

Byron Bitz, a 6-foot-5 winger, is making a nice comeback with the Vancouver Canucks.

Bitz has played three consecutive games with the Henrik and Daniel Sedin and is riding first-line shotgun with the twins. He has three points in three games. Looks like a fit.

The not-so-split-up Sedin twins helped Byron Bitz produce a surprising two-point night as the Vancouver Canucks squeaked by the Nashville Predators 4-3 (SO).

This was just Bitz second game of the season - and since his last NHL work two seasons ago - so it's hasty to add him. Then again, if Alain Vigneault gives him a decent spin with the Sedins, he could be interesting.

Byron Bitz wasn't claimed on waivers.

Bitz hasn't played yet this season because of a hip injury, so the Canucks want him to shake off the rust in the minors. He's a capable bottom-six forward when he's 100%.

The Vancouver Canucks have activated Byron Bitz from the injured reserve list and placed him on waivers.

Bitz has not played since May 27, 2010 and is on a two-way contract so they will send him to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL once he clears waivers at noon ET Wednesday. He has no fantasy value.

Byron Bitz (hip) has begun to skate.

Bitz signed a two-way contract in July, but he hasn't played since May 27th, 2010. We wouldn't be surprised if the Canucks send him to the minors to shake off the rust once he's healthy.

Byron Bitz is ready to make a meaningful impact for the Canucks.

Bitz (lower body) has had three surgeries in recent history. Bitz says he is now fully healthy and ready to full a void on the Canucks' fourth line. He is likely just a Tanner Glass fill-in, meaning his fantasy value is minute.
