Wayne Simmonds scored a power play goal in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.

Simmonds finished a pretty passing play, as Claude Giroux found Jakub Voracek with a cross-ice pass before Voracek got the puck to Simmonds, who was standing near the goal mouth. Simmonds has now found the back of the net in three consecutive games. The 28-year-old is coming off a 32-goal season and he should be able to hit a similar number if he stays healthy.

Wayne Simmonds is enjoying the trash talk coming from the New York Rangers.

It started last week when Simmonds injured defenseman Ryan McDonagh with what the Rangers thought was a cheap shot. Simmonds received a match penalty but no further disciplinary action for the hit which concussed McDonagh. Tanner Glass was trash talking earlier in the week and Simmonds is unconcerned. "That’s fine," he said. "I’m going to take care of myself. Doesn't really matter to me. I’m going to play hockey. I’m going to get two points. I’m not there to go for extracurricular activities. I’m going to play hockey, score goals, do whatever I can to get the win for my team." Look for Simmonds to get into a fight or two on Sunday as the two teams have a rematch.
