David Schlemko has recovered from his undisclosed injury, which was a minor groin strain.
Schlemko took part in Monday's practice, which was his first time skating with the Devils since Sept. 20. His groin strain was an issue that had been getting worse, so they decided it would be better to briefly shut him down to allow him to make a proper recovery. Sep 29 - 10:29 AM

David Schlemko last practiced with the New Jersey Devils on Sunday due to an undisclosed injury.

Schlemko also hasn't played in a preseason game yet. Devils coach John Hynes has described the ailment as minor though and remains optimistic that the blueline will participate in at least one exhibition contest. Schlemko had a goal and four points in 44 games with Arizona, Dallas, and Calgary in 2014-15.
Sep 24 - 6:37 PM

David Schlemko has signed a one-year, one-way contract with New Jersey worth $625,000.

"David Schlemko is a veteran with five years of NHL experience who brings depth and competition to our defensive corps," GM Ray Shero said. The Devils have five blueliners on one-way deals, including Schlemko, but Jon Merrill and Damon Severson, who have two-way deals, were expected to be on the roster as well. That could place Schlemko into the seventh defender spot. He played in 44 games with Arizona, Dallas and Calgary last season.
Sep 10 - 2:38 PM

David Schlemko is still an unrestricted free agent.

He was claimed off waivers twice during the season. The stay-at-home defender played 44 games with Arizona, Dallas and Calgary. Schlemko shouldn't be on your fantasy radar, though.
Aug 19 - 2:37 PM

David Schlemko played just seven minutes through the game's first 65, and was Calgary's eighth shooter during the shootout. But he put on a move for the ages to secure a 4-3 victory over Boston on Thursday night.

Go find a highlight. Schlemko, a lefty, took the puck wide on his backhand, and cut in from the top of the right circle. Instead of finishing on his forehand, Schlemko pivoted, faked like he was going skate backwards, and finished with the one-handed tuck-in as Rask vacated the net. In 26 games with Arizona, Dallas, and now Calgary, he has a goal and four points this season.
Mar 6 - 12:01 AM

David Schlemko will make his Flames' debut against the Boston Bruins on Thursday.

"Its huge for me," he said. "This year hasn't gone the way I wanted, especially lately. I'm going to take advantage of the opportunity." The 27-year-old was claimed off waivers from Dallas on Sunday. He is expected to play on a pairing with Raphael Diaz. Schlemko has one goal and four points in 25 games this season.
Mar 5 - 6:20 PM

David Schlemko won't make his Flames' debut on Tuesday.

Schlemko was claimed off of waivers on Sunday. He hasn't skated in a few days, so the Flames decided to give him more time to adjust to his new team before participating in a contest. He has a goal and four points in 25 games with Dallas and Arizona in 2014-15.
Mar 3 - 12:14 PM

The Calgary Flames have claimed David Schlemko on waivers from Dallas.

The 27-year-old has one goal, four points and a minus-5 rating this season. The Flames needed to add some depth with the injury to Mark Giordano.
Mar 1 - 12:13 PM

The Stars placed David Schlemko on waivers Saturday.

He has been scratched for 13 straight games so this should not come as a surprise. Schlemko's fortunes did not improve at all with his trade from Arizona to Dallas earlier this season. Speculation is that Dallas waived Schlemko in order to call up Patrik Nemeth from Texas of the AHL.
Feb 28 - 12:32 PM

David Schlemko will be scratched for his 13th straight game as his Stars take on the Avalanche on Friday night.

If you're not on the ice, you can't have fantasy value. Schlemko has skated just five times for the Stars compared to 20 for the Coyotes earlier in the season. Combined, Schlemko has six points, 36 hits, and 52 blocks.
Feb 27 - 7:44 PM

David Schlemko and Brendan Ranford will be scratched on Sunday night against the Minnesota Wild.

It's Schlemko's 11th straight game in the stands, and Ranford's second straight. Neither have any fantasy value.
Feb 22 - 7:44 PM

David Schlemko and Brendan Ranford will be scratched on Saturday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

It'll be Schlemko's 10th straight benching, while Ranford sits after taking 13 shifts in his NHL debut on Thursday night. Neither have any fantasy value.
Feb 21 - 7:40 PM

David Schlemko has been scratched for eight straight games.

"For me, when he has played he hasn't knocked anybody out of the lineup," coach Lindy Ruff said. "We've won three of our last four [entering Tuesday's game], and I don't feel in this case that I want to take anybody out. When he's in, he has to earn his spot, and I didn't feel he moved ahead of anybody." He has suited up in just five games with the Stars since he was claimed off waivers from Arizona in January.
Feb 18 - 12:26 PM

David Schlemko will sit out against Boston on Tuesday night.

Schlemko has dressed for Dallas just five time this season, and with little to show for it. He has only four points, four penalty minutes, and 36 hits this season, which adds up to a non-viable option for your fantasy squad.
Feb 10 - 6:19 PM

David Schlemko will dress for just the fifth time as a Dallas Star against the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday.

With just four points, four penalty minutes, and 36 hits this season, Schlemko is not much of a fantasy option. Even if he is skating with Trevor Daley.
