David Schlemko has been wearing a protective walking boot ever since he blocked a shot from P.K. Subban on Thursday.

The defenseman is day-to-day and missed Saturday's game against Washington. "We'll see how it goes," coach Dave Tippett said. "It's just a pain issue whether he can get through it." Schlemko has little fantasy value with only one goal and nine points in 48 games.

David Schlemko missed a team event on Sunday as he was under the weather.

The Coyotes went as a team to visit the kids at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and it was obviously not a good idea for an unwell Schlemko to visit. He should be okay to play on Tuesday in Colorado.

Coach Dave Tippett is happy with the play of defenseman David Schlemko.

Schlemko has played two games since returning after missing 16 games with a shoulder injury and has been playing tough, just what Tippett wants. He has three blocked shots in the two games with a couple of hits. "I liked that he wasn't tentative coming out of an injury, and he was a little better (Saturday) night," Tippett said. "We expect him to keep building to get his game back where it needs to be." While we can't recommend him in traditional pools, he is a valued member of the Coyotes blueline.
