Schlemko has missed the last two games with a virus but will be in the lineup Saturday when the Habs face Florida. He has only one assist in 11 games but is a plus-seven for a mediocre Montreal squad.

A lengthy hand injury sidelined him for the first 25 games of the season, but he's looked good in his first two games with Montreal. Even though he has no points in two contests, Schlemko has moved the puck efficiently. He also has a plus-2 rating so far this season.

David Schlemko will draw into the Canadiens' lineup on Wednesday.

This will be the 30-year-old blueliner's first game with Montreal. He missed the start of the season due to a hand injury and got back into game shape by participating in a three-game AHL conditioning stint. He scored two goals and 18 points in 62 games with San Jose in 2016-17. Victor Mete will be a healthy scratch as a result.

David Schlemko was back with the Canadiens at Sunday's practice.

Schlemko recently had a two-game conditioning stint with the AHL's Laval Rocket and could finally make his season debut with Montreal on Monday night. "I'd like to play, but we're a quarter of the way into the season. If they think I need a little more work, then that's what I'll do," said Schlemko. "I'm just excited to be close to playing again." Coach Claude Julien won't make a decision until after the morning skate or closer to game time.

David Schlemko said he will be returning to Montreal following his brief stint in the minors.

Schlemko has yet to play in the NHL this season after injuring his hand during training camp. Expect an official announcement from the NHL club some time tomorrow.

Schlemko hasn't played at all this season after undergoing surgery in October to remove a bone fragment. This conditioning will allow him to get into game shape before playing for the Canadiens.

Schlemko hasn't seen any action with the Canadiens yet this season and he is currently recovering from hand surgery. He shouldn't be considered close to a return until he starts practicing with his teammates again.

David Schlemko underwent surgery to remove a bone fragment in his hand.

Schlemko will need three-to-four weeks to recover. The timing of his injury is particularly unfortunate given that the 30-year-old defenseman had just been recalled on Saturday.

Schlemko didn't accompany his teammates on their trip to San Jose for Tuesday night's matchup. He played in one AHL contest with Laval during a brief conditioning stint, but still hasn't made his season debut with the Canadiens.

Schlemko played an AHL game last night. He had one assist, a plus-2 rating and three shots on goal in that contest. Canadiens coach Claude Julien has already said that Schlemko won't play in tonight's game against Toronto, but he should be closing in on a return.

Schlemko hasn't played yet this season, so this will give him a chance to get back into the swing of things before joining the Canadiens. He had two goals and 18 points in 62 games with the Sharks in 2016-17.
